Previous postings are accurate. However, we enjoyed our stay and our site. Main reason was that this campground was virtually empty this past weekend. Whole different atmosphere in the off-season. I would suggest sites near the street or pull through sites 45 & 46 (ours). We will return next year (off-season only).
This is an "OK" campground to base a short visit to The Baltimore area. Its crowded here. Sites are really too tight for an extended stay(for us). Lots of full size 5'vers that are setup for long term use. The river view is very nice, staff friendly. Freight train noise can be heard periodically, but otherwise a very quiet campground,at least at this time of year. We camped in a TT.We do not plan to return unless revisiting Baltimore.
Very nice campground. Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped in the pull thru section and our site was unlevel(steep)but we managed just fine. The overall facilities are very good here. The on-site arranged canoe trip was enjoyable. There were very few campers this time of year so it was quiet at night. Big rigs might have some difficulty getting in or out of some sites because of trees. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
We stayed in the pull through section. Sites were a bit sloped and were a little narrow, but very good access and length. Off-season is the best time at Jersey shore campgrounds,in my opinion. This campground is really busy in the summer,so in the off-season there is a big difference in the number of campers. Well maintained and staffed. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
This campground is best visited during the off-season. Most Jersey shore campgrounds have ridiculous overcrowding issues during summer months. This campground was OK for our use as we were out of the campground all day and did not use any of their facilities. Location is excellent to all Jersey shore points. We had a pull-thru site that was nicely spaced. The problem I encountered is that the roads are barely wide enough to get my 24ft x 7.5ft wide hybrid trailer around turns. Do not attempt to bring ANYTHING bigger in here unless your staying in the field! We may come back again during the off season time...it does offer location,location....
This was our first trip to this campground and found it to be an excellent vacation stay. The staff really is a top notch group of people that help make this place rate a "10". We stayed in Premium Pull Thru section and sites were fairly large and level. Being able to be on the beach in just a few minutes walk makes this place a great vacation spot. We will definitely be returning.
Campground was well kept. Lots of pet dogs around. We stayed in the pull-thru section which fortunately had few campers. The sites are too narrow and if crowded, good luck getting to the dump station, very poor location for it. A few tight turns to exit pull thru section as well. Campground is overpriced, but thats common in Jersey Shore areas. It is a long drive to anywhere from here. We don't plan to return.
This is the best state park we have been to in mid-Atlantic area. We camped in the full hookup Northeast loop in a pull thru site. Plenty of room at each site. Very well maintained facility. We will definitely be returning.
This campground deserves the high ratings it gets. We camped here on a fellow campers recommendation and were very happy with the size of the pull thru sites and the extremely clean restrooms/shower facilities. Well situated in the Lancaster Dutch Country region. Great place to base your visit to the area. We will definitely be returning.
This is a good location for Atlantic City area. We didn't spend much time in campground, just used it as a base for our day trips. We didn't realize until we got there that it sits at the runway edge of the Atlantic City Airport. There wasn't enough noise to be any problem though. Our pull thru site was fine for our purpose but sites are tight. The campground is very small but also clean and convenient. We plan to return again in off-season.
Campground was clean and had a number of activities. We enjoyed our stay here. The seasonal campers were friendly. Facilities are a bit worn but in a good repair. Staff was helpful. Our pull-thru site was plenty spacious for us and access not a problem. The only odd thing was that they do not accept credit cards. You must pay cash or use their ATM. First time we've encountered that. Overall, a nice campground that we may revisit.
This campground is almost evenly divided between seasonal and tent camping, with limited sites for transient full hookup travel trailers. Beware, the available sites are very narrow! This campground does have excellent location due to it's proximity to the Garden State Parkway. You can be at almost any location in the Jersey shore area within 15 minutes. Thats why this place is packed. The staff was competent, the pool was clean and there were some activities for kids. The camp store was very well equipped. All our activities were outside campground. We did not need to use other facilities, so no comment there. Overall, it was an average campground with good location. I need a little more room than what they provide for the transient travel trailer, so I do not plan to return.
This is a good campground to base your trip to the Jersey Pine Barrens and even Atlantic City. Spacious pull thru sites made things real easy. You can take a canoe ride on the Wading River right from the campground. There are a lot of seasonals but plenty of room for transient traffic. We didn't use campground facilities so no comment there. The only negative is lack of any enforcement of the "quiet time" rules particularly at seasonal party sites. I would recommend this campground and we will return for another canoe trip!
This is a rustic camping area located on the Wading River. Excellent location for canoing in Wharton State Forest. This is not for motorhomes or travel trailers. Perfect for tents and popups. There is drinking water available as well as a usable bath house. Nothing fancy. Lots of Scout groups camping in here. Watch out for loose sand spots, you can get your vehicle stuck. Patrolled by NJ Park rangers who do enforce posted regulations. This location for those that enjoy and are equipped for rustic camping only.
