This campground is a nature lover's delight. The views of both a little lake and the Bay of Fundy from our campsite were gorgeous. There is a hiking trail which goes around the campground, passing 2 lakes and traversing the dikes along the marshes. Children would love feeding the ducks and playing in the playground. For adults, there was a ping pong table. The Wi-Fi didn't work but the manager let campers use his computer. The office is not manned till 2 pm, but campers can select a site and pay later. There was a little camp store. To my surprise, the manager also had Bay of Fundy scallops to sell which were delicious.

The Birches is a beautiful log cabin resort on the prettiest part of Moosehead Lake. It offers 2 RV sites, 2 yurts, and housekeeping cabins. The RV sites are right at the marina, which is on a sheltered channel. Campers could dock their own boat right by their RV. The Birches offers launching for your own boat or rental of a power boat or kayak. Added treats are on-site float plane sightseeing or a moose cruise on a pontoon boat. There is a beautiful full service dining room overlooking the lake.

Most of the sites in this park are occupied by seasonal campers who have landscaped their sites according to their own preferences. Some are quite attractive. Their is a nearby pond with a dock for kayaks or canoes, but the access is down a steep hill. It would be a long hard climb with a boat. The campground is very close to tidal bore rafting on the Shubencadie River. When we were here, the available water was not considered potable. There were no apparent plans to have it tested although the manager said it was OK to use for washing or flushing. We did not hook up to it because we were afraid of contaminating our system. The campground does not have a telephone, but takes Internet reservations.
