Was once a great family place until the owner got burned out. Campground went downhill ever since the owner started to allow campers to drink off site and not to enforce his own rules. Too many loose dogs here running around. When I questioned the owner about this, I was asked to leave. Fireworks are set off right by a propane fill station on July 4th, not too safe. Dryers do not dry your clothes unless you spend mega bucks to keep trying to dry them. Bingo got out of hand by playing for cash, with small kids unattended to collect payouts. No lifeguard here for the pool, which states you must be 16 or have an adult. Owner's friend's kids were allowed though. I left good reviews in the past, but must be truthful about how this place changed since then. I will miss my Saturday morning softball buddies, especially the little ones that I helped over the last 4 years. Not as clean as it once was either. Owner's sons and friends ride ATV's around recklessly. ATV's are not even allowed here. Not too quiet of a place for rest and peace.
What a great place. This campground is the best by far. Spacious sites and large campground. Nice pools. The transportation to and from this campground was awesome. This is a very clean and well run campground. My family and I will be back!!!
This owner was fighting with everyone. Someone was parked about 6 inches past the steps and this owner yelled and cursed at an elderly lady trying to park in a full lot. The sites are small and the staff drives around all day and night like cops looking to yell at people for violations. Trash and dirt blows around this campground when it is windy. They need to hire a janitor instead of site police. The rest rooms were filthy. Very small water park! If you are coming for the water park or with kids, I suggest you find another campground. This owner is a bully and needs to lose his franchise tag acting like this. He is giving Jellystone a bad name. He gave me a few dirty looks just for watching him yell at several people. At least he was smart and didn't want to pick a fight with a 250 pound man. Never again!
My family decided to try this campground one more time. The family wanted to go since it was casino weekend. First off, no improvements were made once again to this campground. As for casino night, they had mostly college kids running the games that appeared and smelled drunk. It is amazing owners would allow this especially since this was for kids to enjoy too. After casino night when exiting, there was over two dozen golf carts parked all over the place with people on them yelling and drinking beer. Not a nice scene! Drinking and driving? Hmmm. Campsites lack gravel and grass was over 8 inches high at most spots. This was my last visit to this place. Not a safe environment if you have kids.
Once again my family and I had a wonderful experience. This owner makes you feel welcomed. The roads are all maintained with gravel or they are paved. Many trees were cut to clear paths to sites without hanging branches sticking out into the roadway. The store still has reasonable pricing. Nice game room as well as a nice rec hall for activities. This owner makes a real nice Sunday breakfast. I keep going back since this is always a positive experience. It is always nice to have clean restrooms stationed all around the campground so you do not have to always make a long trip back to your site. Firewood, propane and many other supplies are always available. Hayrides, tennis, baseball and many other outdoor activities are here for your enjoyment. Nice walking trail around the perimeter of the campground. Many sites in a wooded environment for those wanting to just sit back and relax. So much wildlife running around to keep any animal enthusiast occupied. Great view sites are also available to overlook neighboring towns. I will be heading back several times this year, and I look forward to many themed weekends.
This was a nice campground to stay while visiting the Orlando and Tampa attractions. I did not give it a 10 since my site like a few others had a tree in the center of it which prevented me from opening my awning. I did pull up to get past the tree but then if I opened the awning it would be over the permanent installed fireplace. By moving up it takes you away from the nice concrete patio and puts you in a sandy environment which is real messy especially when wet. The staff was real nice and they had a nice store. Firewood and propane were available here and they did not make you wait for it either. They always called someone for any kind of assistance that was needed and they arrived immediately to help out. I would stay here again if I make it back to Florida, I just recommend to make sure you do not have a tree in the middle of your site if you choose to stay here. I did ask before arrival about any trees and I was assured that none were on my site, so please be aggressive when asking.
Real nice campground. This is a campground owned by Knoebels and is only about 3 miles away from the park. Full hook ups are available here unlike Knoebels campground at the park. I used the restrooms while walking and they were clean and I even peeked in the showers to see how clean they were and they were very well maintained. Nice sites and very peaceful compared to the park's campground. A shuttle ran every hour to the park if you didn't want to drive. We will stay here again when returning to Knoebels!
It is a nice campground and is close to all the Williamsburg attractions. It is a very clean campground. I did not give it a 10 since many sites are very uneven or hilly. Make sure you ask for a flat site when booking. Nice pool, jumping pillow and meeting area. I will stay here again next time I visit Williamsburg.
Very bad place to stay. Dirty restrooms and showers. Dirt blows all over the place, especially around the pool area when everyone enters or exits the campground. I tried this place before and it was the same. The staff was very rude.
This is the best campground that I've ever been too. It's a friendly place to stay. This is a very clean campground. Most of the sites are wooded to make you feel like you are camping. The sites that are not in the wooded area are on the Plateau overlooking the hills and surrounding towns. Nice store and activities. This owner always has meals planned for his guests. Breakfast and dinners are quite often. Nice quality food as well. This campground has paved and stoned roads, and is a good campground to take walks throughout. There's a nice game room, nice rec hall and nice laundry facilities. Everyone I tell about this place ends up loving it as well. These people care about your stay. If you ever need gravel, this owner will bring it and lay it out for you. Usually you never need it since these sites are always maintained. Seasonal campers here are mostly friendly. Yes: it has it's share of beer drinkers, dog runners and rude smokers, but show me a place that doesn't. You can't blame an owner for rude behavior from campers. All I know is that this owner will not tolerate this behavior. Ceramic activities and movies are played regularly during the season. Many theme-weekends throughout the season including bands, DJ's and swimming parties. Softball, volleyball, tennis and basketball as well as other sports are played here. This campground has a nice walking trail that goes around its perimeter. I can't wait to go back!
We gave this place a second chance: we were disappointed once again. Way too many golf carts racing around. They make noise all day long racing and tooting their horns. The worst thing about the golf carts is that this campground allows this to go on. Workers were present when this was going on. And the fact that half are drinking beer while driving them is ridiculous. The sites were still bare with no gravel and plenty of slop. If this owner laid gravel or stone these sites would not be half bad.
Very cliquey campground! I will start with the bad things before the few good things. Many seasonals here. Many of their sites look like mobile homes or a local city trailer park. Many are from New York and get mad at you if you are not a New York sports fan. Many teens stand around and block the roads and stare you down when you try to pass them. Many teens drive cars around all day and a few have many teens in them like if it was cruise night. Not a safe place to ride the bikes for kids. The DJ was touchy freely towards many of the girls which was real inappropriate, especially with the little kids around. They have a small beach which no fishing or pets were allowed. I have seen this enforced many times except when the person patrolling knew the person with a rod or pet by name. Most nights they have a fire truck ride at 4 pm. I suggest you get there by 3:30 and get a spot since many of the regulars fill it up early and you will get shut out. I never seen a second ride for the families that were shut out. The hot dog man by the outdoor pool was grouchy. The man patrolling the indoor pool was whistle happy. I seen him enforcing the no more than 6 in a hot tub rule until, YOU GUESSED IT, his friends entered that he knew by name. The office was run by teens which seemed to care about what song was on the radio or which site they were having a party on that night. I even heard a girl mention that her father was leaving and they could all get drunk at her site. People do not need to hear that kind of talk when entering the store. I agreed to go to this place since they had softball scheduled every night. This was a joke. It was supposed to be for 17 and over every night at 7 pm. Many kids 14 to 16 were allowed to play and it pushed away many adults that wanted to play. A few adults were picked 11th and 12th and were asked to sit on the bench and sub. They were told they would play if needed. I asked the lady that runs the softball about the young kids playing and not letting the adults play and she ignored me. All seasonals got to play and their kids. I seen many dogs running loose and told staff about it and their reply was, they should know better. I guess they did not really care. The few good things were they have paved roads, the rest rooms were clean and the front gate was patrolled. I asked my kids if they wanted to come back and their reply was, NO WAY DADDY. I asked my wife the same question and she laughed at me.
If you like smoking, drinking beer and Hillbillies yelling and acting up, this is your place. Reminded me of a project campground. Many people actually live here and are real creepy. Not a place to take the kids. Very dirty campground!
Nice campground. I would say half the sites were pretty level and there are many different sized sites. Class owner. The shuttle to and from the amusement park is real nice since it is a huge campground. Friendly staff. I have seen many bath houses around while riding my bike. I did not use any to give you a review. The cons to this park are not really the owners problem, but since it is so big of a campground, you get many rude people that cut through your site to get to where they want to go. If you are in direct line of a bath house, get ready for a path through your site during your entire stay. Many people had dogs and many had them leashed to go beyond their own site and even a few that stretched into the road to jump out at you when you went by on a bike. Many unleashed dogs that people thought would stay on their site. I have seen a few take off and one dog even went after my 2 little dogs while I was leash walking them down the middle of the road. I never heard a sorry, nor did anyone even get up out of their chair to come get their dog. You don't get proper campground etiquette from the campers at this place. You get all classes of campers here so get ready to deal with many rude campers.
Not a family campground. If you have kids you will be afraid to let them walk or ride their bikes with all the beer drinking, golf cart riding seasonals. Very territorial seasonals and you must watch out for all the unleashed dogs. Seen a few fender benders on the golf carts while they were playing tag or bumper carts. Rules only seem to be enforced on transit campers. I have seen one seasonal camper with 8 dogs running wild. Roads are very rough and filled with pot holes. Many sites lack gravel and are mostly swamps when it rains. This owner needs more gravel laid. You have to pay for showers which is a joke. Avoid this campground unless you want to join a clique. This owner seems to have many seasonal sites for income and never puts anything back into the campground. The miniature golf is also a joke, and filled with bee's nests. You can tell they never take care of that. Small game room for the kids. The firewood is $4.50 a bundle and it contains mostly bark and boards. You must buy it there. While I was there, I have seen a few seasonals transporting pick up truck loads of wood for their own site. Never again for me.
This campground is overrun by golf carts. If you have kids, beware! Seasonal sites are allowed to have a golf cart. Many of them race around all day and play bumper cars. No beer is allowed off of the campsite. It looked like a golf cart convention blocking the office doors when I went up for firewood. Everyone had a beer and cigarette on their golf cart. Very unsafe to drink and drive. Believe me, these people are juiced up. Kids try to feed the ducks at the pond and the drunks come racing past to scare the ducks away. Roads are very bad with many holes. Many sites get flooded. This owner needs to improve his safety and conditions for this campground.
Very bad campground! The owner picked a fight with many campers. Real dusty from construction. The pedal cart track is still not built. No smoking signs at rest rooms and the workers all smoke in them, especially the cleaning lady. Very expensive firewood. You cannot bring your own. The owner drives around all day inspecting sites. I left early after asking for a refund since he picked a fight with me about someone losing a wedding ring on our site. I guess he thought we found it and was keeping it for ourselves. A real idiot of a owner.
