Had all the basics needed: level, clean bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and full hook-ups. The amenities were: rec room complete with weights, had Dollywood trolley connections, and grounds were well maintained. We stayed at the premium sites of the campground. Will stay there again on every return visit.
Not overly excited about this RV park. Although it was well lit, level and clean, it was totally paved (hot), no shade, tight parking, and the swimming pool was inside the lower level of the casino.which was not easily accessible to the campers. It is really for casino gamblers only. No cable.
This park was definitely an exception to the KOAs we have been to. The sites were level. The grounds were well cared for and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The staff members were friendly and informative. The campers were quiet and polite. This KOA's map and camp rules papers were well thought out and professionally done. The only negative was that the pool had quite a few leaves floating in it. Would stay again.
On the beach. Cold, but it was winter-can't help that. Had campfire and enjoyed just walking on the beach, etc. Went to see the lighthouse and the park rangers where very nice and helpful. They say the PARK has not changed in 100 years.
Small RV park on the beach. Great location for seeing the area. Will stay here again and get closer to the bath house where you can drive up and have your front windows face the ocean. Quiet and peaceful.
Enjoyed this campground immensely. Although we had to boon dock, the lots were level, spacious, clean, and the grounds were manicured. There were water spigots available in several areas. The bathhouses were clean, up to date and all facilities were in great working order. The dump station was clean, easy to enter and exit. The private beach was beautiful and enjoyable and the staff personnel were friendly and very helpful. I fully intend to stay there again should we ever return to Schroon Lake.
We have a 32 ft RV and were told they could accommodate us. We checked in at the office which was quite rustic. They had very few items in their make-shift store. On a busy weekend, only ONE person working and had to wait 15 minutes to be checked in. Although, I confirmed the reservation, they didn’t have me down for that night. We noticed the roads were narrow and the trees were in bad need of trimming. The further we drove, the street became more like scraped paths and harder to maneuver. The sight began to look like an old RV graveyard occupied with permanent dwellers down on their luck. One hairpin curve after another required us to make several attempts at stopping and backing up in order to angle through. We finally arrived at our spot which was very difficult to maneuver. The site was just trees cut down with tree stumps left to contend with. Again, close and low hanging trees were obstacles. Once in we realized that the “full hookup” was obtainable but not near our RV. The sewage connection was about 25-30 feet away under a rusty can. The electricity was closer but still took ALL the wiring and the water pipe required 2 hoses. The loud PA system played country music until about midnight. Wife slept with the grandchild while I slept closer to the door. Did not feel safe We decided to leave the next morning and request our remaining nights pay be returned…didn’t happen. On our way out, the 5th wheel in front of us struggled to leave and in so doing swiped a tree with his hitch, ripping the carrier and hitch off. I do not recommend this campground to anyone
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The campground accommodates tents, back ins and pull thoughts. The sights are well angled to provide maximum privacy; the grounds are well manicured and provide shade. The facilities were very clean and up to date. Well thought out and organized. The Wi-Fi is good, giving us 2 hours today and 2 hours tomorrow. Easy to find and maneuver through. Would highly recommend this to anyone.
Friendly, helpful staff; clean grounds and facilities; nice pavilion; the pull thrus are in the sun while the back-ins are in the trees. We are people who like solitude and privacy so the fact that the wooded lots are spacious was a must. We, however, would have liked more Wi-Fi friendly accommodations. They only gave us upload/download privileges. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to friends.
The sites have electricity but water and dump are located near entrance into the park. Love the park. Drive through sites are level [dirt], but roads are paved. Camp sites are large, private, and have trees. Will stay again. We did not want to leave. Nice grounds and hiking trails. We had a very quiet, peaceful experience.
