To add what has already has been said, this Elks has now added four 50 amp plugs. So there are now two 30 amp sites and four 50 amp. There is a cable TV connection with splitter on the outside wall of the lodge. Stations are a little fuzzy, but not bad. I also was able to bridge to the lodge's Wi-Fi with the my Pepwave booster antenna. With that set up, Wi-Fi was strong and solid. In a decent neighborhood with no security concerns and a good view parked here on the hill. Lodge offers meals on Tuesday and Friday nights reasonably priced. The site is not bad at all for $15 a night! Shell Service station nearby which is across from Walmart has RV/truck fuel lanes, propane, car/RV coin operated car wash and free RV dump at car wash. I like this town!
This is the only RV park in town and it shows. The park is on a slight angle so sites are carved out to be level and most aren't. The sites are pea gravel with red clay under that. Sites are fairly short. Dusty and dirty in the park. Now for the worst part. The Wi-Fi is pitiful. When we got there in the afternoon and the park was almost empty I could stand next to the main antenna and get connected, but couldn't get it a couple of sites away. The antenna next to our site was dead. I used my Pepwave booster and it would work if no load was on the system. As soon as the park started getting more RVers the system is useless. They know about it, but don't do anything about it. Another words if you need Wi-Fi don't come here. Beautiful area to see on tours. Also this park has a beautiful well maintained indoor heated.
As everyone has mentioned this is for Elks members and their guest. We stayed 5 days. Utilities are very strong. Have a water pressure regulator as it is 85 psi. Fifty-30-20 amp service. Strong TV on manual antenna. Wi-Fi is very weak at the RV. We used our Wi-Fi booster and got a decent signal. Near or inside the Lodge, Wi-Fi is excellent with a 15 meg download! Dinners are now on Wednesday evening. One of the nicest, most modern lodge we've been to. This is our second trip back. If all sites are full you can boondock near the sites for $5.00
I'm stretching to giving this park a 8 this time. We had to go to 4 sites to find one level enough to stay in. Some sites had big dips in the middle of the site. The staff said repairs were coming in Oct. 2013. Water at site would only dribble out and that was repaired by maintenance. Wi-Fi system is new and the antenna next to our site didn't work causing us to pick up off another tower which made it slow and weak. Staff was nice as usual. We've stayed here about 3 times and we'd probably come back as we have friends very close. Just one of those stays this time! Food was pretty good at the Casino restaurant.
Great lady at check in. Good utilities, but watch water pressure which is 85 PSI. WiFi was OK but not real fast. 60 cable TV stations. Some pull throughs were very long and wide. Quiet and clean. A good bang for the buck. Just a nice, little park to spend the night. We would return.
Check in was by a young lady there by herself and didn't have a clue. She said it was her third day. Little office was very dirty. The park's pool and hot tub were out of order. Our site was a PT and was level side to side but not front to rear. Big slope downhill. Electric went off 3 times during the evening in the whole park. WiFi was slow but solid. We were parked right next to the antenna. Use a water pressure regulator as it is at 85 PSI. Went to pool, hot tub, and dry sauna in the Casino hotel and it was great. This is our second visit, came back on friend's recommendation: doubt if we'd come back again.
As many have said this park is nicely maintained with lovely landscaping. Utilities are strong and solid. Staff and park hosts are very helpful, fun and friendly. Many have complained of poor Wi-Fi, but the new Tengointernet is working great. It was reasonably fast and solid for our 3 day stay. The park is safe, well patrolled and they do enforce the rules which made for a great stay for us. We've stayed at other parks in the Portland area over the years and this is the best. Cable TV is limited and some of the channels are snowy, otherwise I'd give this park a 9.
Nice park with FHU. Big rig friendly. Convenient Casino and good restaurant. Get coupons from front desk of park. Free Wi-Fi in office, but charge for Matrix internet in park. Good and strong utilities. Nice, friendly staff. Pool and hot tub closed for season also hot Security vehicle rides around park. Good place to stay. We'll be back for sure.
For a park out in the middle of nowhere, this is a nice little park. The drive in paths were newly asphalted. The pool was closed but the hot tub (103*F) was very nice with jets that worked good. Nice little convenience store well stocked. Wi-Fi was Tengo, free and fairly slow but solid. Utilities newer and solid. Staff was nice. We will stay again.
This park is built on the side of a hill, but the concrete pads themselves are level. Gravel surrounds the pad. It's hard to walk around the site as it has steep pitched land due to it being built on a hill. All utilities were strong and newer. Wi-Fi ran at a strong 7 MB download. Water tasted good and 60 lbs.pressure. Leaving the park is a bit difficult due to the street layout. Only one street in the park to exit out on. Very tight turns at the end of the streets. A nice little park for an overnight.
One of the nicer Elks Lodge RV Parks we've stayed at. Good food in their Lodge. And yes a great lounge with strong drinks. 50 amp., good Wi-Fi and sewer. Has 4 long pull through sites (#1-4) for overnighters. All others are back-ins. I will be back.
If you look at my history, you'll see I don't give a 10 often. This is a fabulous park. So much attention to detail. Landscaping is perfect. Concrete sites are nice. This park must have been designed by an RVer. They give you 2 sewer ports per site. One mid ship and the other was at the rear. The electrical pedestal is modern and has soft lighting to work with. All benches are made with "Trek" instead of wood. I could go on. From the time you drive in, till you drive out. First Class. It's puts a smile on my face to come here. Top notch for sure. I workamp at a very nice park that is 4 times this size. I promise to take some of their ideas to make my customers feel this WOWED!!!! Thanks!
Decent lodge RV parking. No cable, but like 17 stations on regular antenna. Closest dump is located at the other Florence Elks RV park about 7 miles away located in the country. Great Chinese restaurant just a couple of miles north of the lodge, called Chen's Family.
Wow, this park is all they claim. Very rustic, back to nature and super quiet. Large lots, I would have given this park a 10 but they don't have pool, spa, tennis court or golf course. They do have some activities, like social hour and pot luck. Great tasting water and good pressure, strong electrical and sewer setup is good. Lots of cable TV channels. WiFi at clubhouse. Like so many have said: the folks are super friendly and warm. Lots of very steep streets to deal with. This is a working SKP park for sure. We will come back.
The price is based off GS rate. We've stayed at this park several times over the last 5 years. Park staff are always friendly and helpful. Lots of activities, especially in the summer. Park is well landscaped and pretty. The park rules are strict compared to some other parks, but to me that's what makes it a well and smooth running park. Pools and hot tub are always spotless. We will return for sure.
I don't know where the folks are coming from. This park is a rag and no more than a pig sty. Person at the desk was nice. Sites are in a open field. Site #45 has a septic sewer head in the middle of the site. Stunk terrible. Didn't even try the Wi-Fi. The view over the ocean was beautiful. We got out of the park and moved to a much nicer park just a couple miles south of this place.
Price reflects GS rate. Many of the previous comments are correct. This is a very nice park with great sites. Well run and yes they have strict rules and we appreciate it. Makes for a nice park for everyone. No credit cards. We stayed here almost a week and looked at other parks in the area, and this is the only decent one around. Electric was good. Water was good to drink, but pressure was a bit low at 40 psi and flow volume not bad but not strong either. Owner and office staff were very nice and helpful. Their maintenance area should be fenced in as it looks ugly. As mentioned, the cell service is terrible. However, if you walk up to site 46, 47, or 48, turn off your cell and turn it back on. You'll get 1 bar service. It didn't drop out on me. Only place in the park with cell service. Tengo Internet Wi-Fi strong with download speed of 11 meg and upload of 2 meg. Very strong. We will be back.
We were very happy with this park. We've stayed here in the past and really enjoy the nice landscaping and cleanliness. It's really interesting about the poster a couple posts back, bad mouthing this park. I know who they were because we were parked next them. Their children and animals were totally out of control, noisy and rowdy. This is a RV Park, not a primitive campground out in the sticks so folks have to behave themselves to some degree. We enjoy staying here because they do enforce basic rules and regulations, and run a good park. We definitely will stay here again.
This park is great. It's clean and modern with asphalt sites. You can easily walk to the casino, restaurant, Jack in the Box. Has great deals on meals when you stay in the RV park; BOGO (by one, get one) at certain hours; and has good utilities. Outdoor pool and spa are seasonal so we couldn't use them. We will be back for sure!
This is a very nice park. Clean, modern and very reasonable for what you get. Utilities were good, but water flow was a little light, but not bad. Many sites have fresh level concrete slabs. The rally/club rooms were super. Laundry was modern and cheap. This park is a gem. There is no pool or spa. We will be back.
Agree with much as mentioned before. Sites are close but decent in length. The owners are very nice folks. We used the small laundry. Has clean and modern machines with extra size stainless steel tubs. $1.50 wash $1.00 dry. Park has FHU's, there are some perms, but no rag units. There is road noise, but not bad. Small nice park for an overnight. Has good hook ups. There is a shuttle to local small casino. Not bad for the price.
The "grumpy old man" that the previous poster mention was very nice to us. He did my propane refill. The office had 3 people working and they were very disorganized. Only one gal knew anything about working the computer. This park is mostly unlevel gravel/dirt sites. FHU if you need, but also have just W&E sites. Expensive for what you get. It was cold every morning we were here, and I had to take a hair dryer to the water faucet because it was sticking up out of the ground about 1 and a half foot with no protection. The sewer outlet was at a weird angle which made it hard to hook up to. The bathrooms were gorgeous, modern and spotless. You can use the pool and spa at the Ruby's Inn 1/4 mile away and it was very nice (9am - 10pm). The restaurant in the same place, had pretty good food, but was a little pricey. OK for a couple of nights. Probably the best park in the area.
While we stayed here only one night, this is a very nice park. We walked around to check things out and there is a lot of attention to detail. Concrete sites and nice asphalt roads. Someone has put some bucks in here. While there are some permanents in the back of the park, there are no dumpy rigs. Sites are clean and groomed. Remember only cash or checks, no credit cards. The monthly rate at $310 plus electric, is a bargain. We will come back for sure.
Most of the previous reports sum it up pretty good. Sites are super narrow. I had to juggle around to be able to open both living room slides. The WiFi is the strong point of the park. Not much else good to say. The park includes some pretty rough mobile homes on the north end. Went for a walk and I felt the need of something to have for protection. Dusty, dirty, unlevel, very old sites. Check in clerks were nice. Not any other decent place to stay here.
$22.80 GS rate. Passport not honored in March. I usually don't give rustic parks a score this high, but this is an unique campground. All important issues (to me) were met. Strong electric, good water pressure and taste (well water) sewer, good Wi-Fi. No cell service at all. Bathrooms clean, but rustic. Pretty sights and nice area to walk around to take pictures. Gravel sites. Higher elevation (4,000 ft) so cool in the evenings. We would come back!
Price is based on GS rate. This is a very nice park. Watch the water pressure as it is 85+ psi. Better have a Watts whole house regulator. Hot tub was spotless, hot and had great jets! With all the good things this park has to offer it clearly is overpriced. Laundry is beautiful. It's apparent this park is professionally run.
The nightly rate posted is Passport America. Regular price is $32. This park in out in the country and is very quiet and peaceful. Little lake has some ducks for your entertainment! 50 amp, low water pressure 20 lbs. (Well water on pump.) The ground is fine sand. Some sites have old wooden picnic tables. Looks like they are trying to do work on stuff to make it nicer. Wouldn't want to be here with a chance of rain! Owner lady is very nice and friendly. Cash only: no credit cards. Good cell and air card reception. Just an overnight worth the $16. I would be disappointed at $32!! Hard to find a really good park in this area. Dump station on premise. Manual antenna picked up about 8 TV stations, still on analog, have to point antenna toward the mountains. We managed OK in this park.
This park is very nice, with a cheerful and helpful staff. We stayed here a month and felt at home. We especially enjoyed the pool and hot tub because they were spotless and well cared for. This park has a number of activities like a ice cream social, game night, happy hour and pot luck. One evening the park host told me I had a water leak from my water heater, then he lent me tools and gave me guidance on making the repair! Now that's service! We looked around at other parks and this is the nicest in the area. We will be back here.
This is an awesome park as all have mentioned. Whomever laid this park out was an RVer. Attention to detail in all aspects including 2 sewer hookups locations at each site. Wished the pool and fitness center had longer hours (closed 9:00 PM). All staff were falling all over themselve to be friendly, happy and helpful. This is a well oiled machine. Get an additional 10% off of your stay and .03 off fuel with the player card! Nice. Thanks for a great stay!
As most have said this is a decent overnight stay. Price is now discounted to $25 for all. There is 30/50 electric, OK water, and spa is nice but closed at 6:00PM. Overnights are 25'X60' pull throughs. Didn't use bathroom, or laundry, just an overnight stay. The site was almost level. There are gravel sites and paved road. Overall it was not too bad. It looks like they are trying to keep this place up.
Just barely an OK place to stay. This is our second time in this park, and only because our granddaughter is here in Ukiah. Park is a field with hookups. Bathrooms are modern and spotless. The camp host is very nice, friendly and helpful. Water pressure is low at 36 psi. Electrical voltage is high at 127-133 volts. No cable TV and poor manual television reception as they don't have digital yet and not projected for another yet year (long story). This is it. There are no other CG in the area that are as good as this one! There is a Walter's cafe close to the park that is good with steaks, seafood, and sushi. A little upscale and a little pricey, but good. I could walk or ride my bike to the local Raley grocery store. Dollar Store coming soon. Cash or check only. This is as good as it gets in Ukiah and the surrounding area. Park is never full, and closed part of August for the annual fair.
Price reflects Passport America. It is off season and we were the only ones in the campground other than the permanents. Just a basic park. Wi-Fi was down temporary said the yellowed sign in the front door! I see this as being an OK park in season to do the weekend fishing trip with the kids and family. Cable TV had plenty of channels but many were fuzzy. We parked in site 36 closest to the lake and best view, but furthest from the office and rec room (didn't check out). I can see that if it rained a lot you may could get stuck! They clearly spent more money on the attractive website then on the park! Just an OK place. Grass site, fairly large and long. Well worth our money for one nights stay. A strong 30 amp electric (held 2 small heaters, and microwave at the same time!), good water pressure @ 55 psi. I would stay again at this price.
This is the Good Sam rate. The 8 rating may be a little strong...7 a little weak. This old drive-in movie park is very old, very clean, and well groomed. Movies are only on certain nights. Bathrooms are a bit dated, but absolutely shiny and spotless. Everything was painted and bright.; nothing flashy. There is mostly 30 amp sites. Office doesn't open till 10:00 AM. Lots of permanent rigs, but not mixed with short terms. There is popcorn in the evening and coffee in morning in the clubhouse. I felt it was just a little pricey for an overnight. Manager was nice and friendly.
Good Sam Rate. This old park does have a nice appearance to it when you look at it, but is not practical as many have mentioned the sites are the narrowest I've ever seen. We couldn't hook up the sewer and when opened slides you hit shrub's on both sides. Only one trash bin for all of park. The guy running the park is a bit goofy. Decent laundry and pool. We stay here to visit friends close by. Watch out for water pressure that varies. When I first hooked up it was 25 lbs. so I didn't put on the regulator. A few hrs. later my bride said the water pressure/volume was great. I went and looked and it went to 80 lbs!! I put the reg. on real quick. Electric fine. Wouldn't stay here again.
We ditto what has already been said. We had a pull thru that was paved and somewhat level(small shim). Nice big tall pines for shade. The folks here are very homey and nice. Lots of antiques and stuff in their store/office. Utilities great and water taste good. We like the plusher resort type parks, which this is not, but a great feel and rustic, but all our needs met. Train and hiway noise, but it didn't bother us. Several local TV stations. WiFi was good mosts of the time. Had to have them reboot once in our 4 days. I would recommend this park!
This is a class park, well managed and well groomed. It would be a 10 if it had a pool and tub. The folks at the front desk are great. The manager is very involved with the daily operation. Park is not cheap, but close to town and the west gate for Yellowstone Park. 3 laundry, small but nice. They allow RV washing no additional charge. We will come back.
Super nice owners, very helpful and make you feel welcome. Tight sites, but long on pull thrus. Very busy. No cable and Wi-Fi would go in and out. Slow when worked. Just a nice little park to spend the night. Electric strong...we didn't hook up water. Bathrooms and laundry nice.
Agree what last poster said, except nothing is nice in this small community. Try to get in the front by the office, nicer sites and not so many rough looking old permanents. The office is so cluttered you wonder how it can happen. The WiFi is strong when it works, but will go down occasionally. Air card works great. Decent cell phone reception. Cable, electric, and water is great. A day or two is all you would want to stay here. The Hardin Community Center is a small walk and for $1.00 you can exercise, swim, and hot tub. Clean, well equipped and very nice.
Just a place to stop and rest overnight. Folks nice. Lots of permanent mobiles and trailers. Nice price of $16.00 for W&E includes cable and WiFi. We had low water pressure (25 lbs.) and low voltage at 106. 30 amp only. Will say shower, bathroom and laundry were small, but nice and modern. We parked closest to WiFi antenna but still weak and slow. We were able to stay hooked up and have plenty of room. Like I said "overnight stop only". SC WalMart and other stores close by.
Price is based off a weekly rate with cable TV. This park isn't much, but the best in the area! The owners are great, nice, helpful and fun. Live music every evening. Lots of bugs, flies and mosquito's. Needed extension for 50 amp service. They allow RV and TV washing at N/C. Water taste good and has 60 psi. Electric good. Owners grew up in area and park has been in their family for 29 years. They know everything about the area. Few grocery items in the park. Make sure you are well stocked and gassed as this area has NOTHING. SC Wal-Mart is 35 miles in Dickinson. Same for grocery store. Roosevelt NP is great. Go out near dark (7:30 PM) to see the most animals. Bison are mean and aggressive, don't jack with them. We saw a brand new Suburban gored by a ticked off bison! Enjoy, as it is beautiful country to see.
Price reflects Pass Port America rate. 1 night only. $15.00 after first night. Just a small park with 28 pull thru sites. Nice comfort station. Small swing for kids. Gravel sites and drives. Wi-Fi is OK if you're near comfort station. Water and electric good. Camp host was friendly. Just an overnight stay. 1 washer and dry in CS on honor system. No cable or local TV station. Decent value for the money. Nothing to do in the area unless you fish!
This is pretty primitive camping, but OK for an overnight to see the pretty peace gardens. No cell service, air card, no nothing...did get 3 Canadian TV stations on manual antenna. It's just you and mother nature. We originally got electric only until we found out it was only 20 amp service. Most water and electric sites are 30 amp. Camphost didn't know the difference! Bugs and insects are very bad. Water taste and pressure good. 2 RV dumps available. Site are surrounded by trees and brush.
This is a weird deal so listen up! The pros of this RV park is a very nice double concrete pads with nice trees and grass. The restrooms were fairly new, but dirty. Must only cleaned every few days. The actual park is a 9 in my opinion, but the fact that the folks (all of them) at check in, which is the hotel, were very rude and act as if they want you to just go away. All the folks staying in the park said the same thing. If you make it thru that, this is a great place. Even though it doesn't have cable or WiFi. Only one strong TV station. You can go to the business center in the hotel and use the computer. Hot tub, pool, fitness room were very nice and open til 11:00PM. Can't walk after dark in the park as there are no lights on the roads. Also there is a few sites in the parking lot by the casino with 30 electric only. $18. a night. The sight is nice overlooking the lake. Trash cans about every other site.
I agree with all of the previous comments. I'm giving this park a strong 8. They are adding more sites every day. Sites are very large. Quiet, comfortable and relaxing. Wal-Mart about 8 miles, with small grocery store 2 miles from park. Another Wal-mart 18 miles. All normal store/restaurant, city stuff about 10-12 miles away. The owner has some fine and very nice classic cars! Laundry is very nice with only 3 W/D at $1.25. We looked at a lot of parks in the area and this is the best! Fishing was fun for me as no license necessary. John boat, paddle boat and canoe free for use. We stayed here for a week and a half. The park is full on the weekends. We would come back again. Cash and checks only.
Price is based on a week's stay. PassPort American is $24.50 on weekday and $59.00 on Sat. and Sun!!! Way overpriced. Location, location, location! The park happens to be located in the heart of the amusement parks, etc. Like some have said, just a park lot campground. Not very well run. Youngster in charge don't know much about RVing and park operation. Some don't know English well. Really a combination of 2 motels, travel mart gas station, seafood buffet and etc. Some sites are really tight. We moved 3 times before we found one that would work. Parked next to the main office and got great free Wi-Fi. Cable TV great. The pools and hot tubs are the highlight of the stay here. Wal-Mart about 5 miles and a little grocery (Zinkie's) about 2 miles in the Wisonsin Dells. Water and power fine. Water taste good too. 2 little OK laundry's $1. wash and dry. Sewer is at the very back of sites. Need extension for sure. Would only stay on weekdays due to price.
Price based on a week's stay. This park is everything all have said and more. Lots of local folks come out for the weekend. Many seasonal RVers. This park is maintain beautifully. The managers are a young couple that work at making it a greater place than it already is. Thanks for a great stay. Informal Sunday church service, weekend activities that usually include kids top it off. Adding more new sites. We will back to this park for sure. Thanks!
Previous comments on this park are right on. Small loose gravel sites. Good water pressure with decent taste. Grass coming thru deck, and site drive. Nice paved streets. Somewhat noisy with many not-so-nice looking rigs. Staff was very nice and friendly. Go to new SC Wal-Mart in White House 9 miles north. They have music and meal offering ($) on Thursday evening at the pavilion and that was nice. Nice grocery stores 5 miles away (Kroger, Publix). Just an OK park, could be very nice with just a little work.
Passport America. Nice clean park, but very tight sights. I could reach out my window and touch the neighbors awning! Some shade. Our site #10 was a back in and the front to rear was so slanted that I had to dig out the ground to get the rear stabilizers down. Took about a 1-1/2 hrs to set up. Sewer was WAY at the back. I used 40 ft. of hose! Small concrete patio, gravel site. Quiet and I felt secure. Staff was nice. Water pressure was OK at 35 psi and volume and taste we just OK. With all that said if I was in the area again I would probably stay again. The ducks were a neat sight. Nice compared to other parks in Pigeon Forge. A real nice park is in Gatlinburg...Twin Creeks RV Resort, but expensive.
This new park is a work in progress. Owner projects 70 sites by the end of August. Pros: Quiet except high level by I-74. Very nice, helpful and friendly owners and staff. Minimum rules. Safe wholesome environment. Water tasty (but see below). Wal-Mart 2 miles away, also eating and grocery stores. Most sites have a choice of 2 sewer points. Great 50 amp hook up. They will allow you to pick your site. This park is not listed in Trailer Life yet, so not real crowded. Owner is very relaxed and allows washing of TV and rig. Sites are crushed granite pieces, packed tight. Plans are to have 70 sites by 9/1/08. Has nice picnic shelter. Eat at East Coast Wings next to Lowes...has all kinds of food which is very good! Also Snappy Lunch in town (pork chop sandwich). Yum! Cons: Neighbors dogs run free, however friendly and caused no problems. Low water pressure and volume. This is to be fixed at the end of this month when they hook up to city water. Wi-Fi worked OK most of the time, considering there is only one antenna (to add another antenna in the future). Bathroom only has 2 holes and one shower. No pool or laundry on premise. This park could be a 9 with not much problem in the near future.
Nice park, quiet ,except for a train every once in a while. Kind of country feel. Spotless and modern bathrooms. Road by office is paved, but by sites still dirt and gravel, which makes a mess when wet. Sites are concrete with patio and picnic table. Some shaded sites. Staff very friendly and helpful. More new sites going in now at the rear of the park. On newer sites park the sewer is not so far back on the site. Dial up modem was available in laundry. WiFi was mostly good, but would drop out at high usuage times. Pool looks nice, but I didn't use as it was still cool here. Water and electric are fine, but water doesn't taste so great. Fairly decent laundry at $1.50 for both W/D. About 4 miles from Superwalmart, HD, and Lowes. We would come back again!
As many have stated, a good place to stay. Many sites have sewer at very rear and fresh water near very front of site. We got group rate while parked here with a rally. Nice beach access. Windy, of course. Hot tub and inside pool nice and clean. Nothing too close to places such as grocery stores, restaurants, and fuel, so stock up on your way in. Wi-Fi iffy at best. Many antennas but spotty performance at best. Sounds like an ongoing issue. Water pressure OK but taste terrible. Lots of geese and seagulls with lots of droppings so watch where you walk. I would come back again. Pricey for what you get, but about the same as others in area. Staff friendly, but always seem hurried and busy. Several laundry's through out park with OK equipment, $1.50 washer and dryer.
This is a very modern rural campground. The owners are super nice and helpful. Sites surround the lake are are very level and groomed. Concrete patios with picnic tables. Passport America on weekdays. Country like amenities, with pizza and hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. in the evening. Wal-Mart SuperCenter and groceries are 14 miles away in Elizabeth City. The gnats and flies were pretty bad. No swimming pool, but other activities for kids though. WiFi is said to be good, but we didn't use it as it was about $4.50 a day or $12.00 for 3 days. I used my Verizon air card with good broadband reception. My cell with T mobile was not so lucky. I'm told that Verizon and Cingular have service here. I would come back as this is a well taken care of park.
Nice older park. Was an extremely nice private member park in the late seventies. This is a nursing home style park. Biggest complaint is the water volume; pressure OK 50psi, but volume is very low through out park. Staff was friendly. Passport honored during the weekdays. Nice large rec. room and large swimming pool. Lots of permanent, but nice units. Not on the beach which was fine by us. Close to Barefoot landing. Eat at Little Pigs for a great pork sandwich. All other stuff there standard.
Electricity: Good voltage Water pressure: 70 psi Water taste: Pretty decent Laundry: Outdoors! $1.25 wash $1.00 dry Fairly decent machines, fairly modernss WiFi: NO Cable TV: NO 6 stations on TV antenna with booster Site Foundation: Crushed Gravel Site Conditions: Most not level – drainage ruts – just OK at best Good Restaurants in area: The Mustard Seed – great and very reasonable all American food Walmart closeby: About 3 miles away. Not Supercenter. General Comments: I gave this an 8, and that is being generous. Don't know where folks get a 9 and 10. Nice for a county park. Nice and friendly staff, very busy weekends. Lots of kids on bikes, but no problems. Kids have stuff to do. We would come back. Don’t recommend getting mail here. It may go to 3 possible areas of the park, it was like a treasure hunt!
We really enjoyed this park. I can see why some folks may have given a lower score on this park as there are several different sections. We stayed in the "F Loop" which is the nicest section (more expense but worth it). The sites in the F Loop all have new wooden decks with railings and a new high end - 3 burner gas grill. Water pressure is a bit high at 70psi but water tasted pretty good. Electric good. I was told free Wi-Fi is available at the pavilion (didn't try it), but a fee based Wi-Fi is available at your site. Sites close to the pavilion can get free Wi-Fi. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Super clean baths. The Stone Mountain park is very nice. I walked around and checked out the other sections and they are not level and some have drop-off etc. If you have a small rig and want to ruff it, then go for it. We will return for sure.
As many have said. Very basic and bare bones park. Property is well maintained. We have a very large site across from the office. Aprox. 120ft. X 45ft. Water taste pretty good. WP is 60 psi and electric is good. We have a new pedestal. Reasonably quiet, a few cars at night but didn't bother us. Wi-Fi now has 3 antennas and works pretty good, not perfect, but good. Super Wal-Mart is about 10 miles away in Sun City. Small Piggly Wiggly in Hardeeville is about 8 miles. Eat a southern BBQ sandwich at the Pink Pig within walking distance of park. Sand Gnats bit the he** out of me. Didn't bother my bride. We definitely would stay here for a base again. Owner and family are great folks!
This old park is pretty sad. Lot of permanent residence with old rigs and trash all around. The staff was nice and friendly. Previous comments stated they had cable TV and this park doesn't and never had. Bathrooms were very old, but reasonably clean. Park is close to Disney World and other attractions, so is convenient in that manner. We parked in the best/largest spot they had with is across from the office. The rig sank in the ruts of sand. We won't be returning.
Older park, tight turns and narrow site. Water pressure sucked at 28PSI. The positives are Wi-Fi strong, good tasting water, clean reasonable small laundry. Bathrooms are clean but dated. Land scaping was very nice. Sites were level, but small gravel. Fairly quiet. Overnight stay, it is OK. Tall pines over some sites. Go to Maclay State Garden (5 miles) and the Tallahassee Auto Museum which is awesome (ask for the unadvertised senior special rate and save $3.50) Would stay again.
The previous poster said almost everything right on the money. I might add the water in this park is bad. Don't drink it! Brown and taste real bad. Shuttle to the casino is superb. Real 24 hr. security drive thru the park regularly. A bayou runs through the park and the gnats are bad. I have never had gnats bite me like these did. Nice ducks run through the park and will eat out of your hand. Wal-Mart is the only grocery store in the area (5 miles away).
This park is all they say in previous post. Very nice and spacious sites. Clean, sparkling, modern bathroom. Workcampers go above and beyond to make you happy. No cable TV but is wired for it. Expect it sometime this year. Big rally room. Pretty swans and birds on the lake with a nice sidewalk that goes around lake. Some permanents in park and they leave early to work (main road workers), a little noisy, but not real bad. We will recommend and return. Take Passport for 1 night only Sun-Thurs.
This place is all that is said listed above. Cheap (use your TL book for 2 for 1 up to 5 free nights) clean, friendly large concrete slabs. Lots of space between you and neighbor. We will be back again. Nothing in Kinder to do. Nice little grocery store in town. What a bang for the buck. Enjoy!
This place is awesome. We FT and know parks. This is the second or third time I gave a 10! Granite counter tops in bathroom and showers! Well decorated and maintained. Rally room was fully equipped and beautiful. Nice BBQ and smoker area that you can reserve. Concrete slabs are 80ft. long and the landscaping is very nice. Some of the slabs are not level, but that is the only thing I could find wrong in this park. Trash pickup everyday. All facilties are open 24/7 except the main office/general store. Weekly and monthly rates are very reasonable for what you get in this park. Friendly staff. This is a top notch deal. Thanks!
Very well maintained. Manicured grass and scrubs. No real trashy trailers. Young owner and family work real hard to do things right. Activities like bingo in the evening. Secured park. Nice hot tub with water fall. Heated pool very clean. Many real nice folks staying in park. Don't forget to get good BBQ at Mumford's by the park. No frills/good food place.
This is our second visit to this park. Managers are great. The WiFi is now park wide instead of just the office. WiFi is consistent and not spotty, but slower than most. Concrete level slabs and most of new section has concrete streets. Some sites have trees and some don't. The hot tub and pool are very nice, open 24 hrs. The nice laundry, bathroom and workout room were closed for repairs, but to reopen in 2 weeks. This park is a good bang for the buck. Our rate was for PassPort. Not really close to grocery stores and stores like Walmart, etc. Eat at Donn's BBQ on hwy 969 for good cheap breakfast.
Stayed here again this summer. The park is well groomed and nice. Restrooms are old, but very clean. Super nice laundry on the third level. Pool and hot tub are very well care for and very nice. Free WiFi is Nomadisp and works good, but can get a little slow at high traffic time. Many have commented on the Manager being rude and mean, but if you follow the rules he's fine. Don't leave trash and stuff under your rig or park on the grass! You disobey the rules and he's all over you. He keeps a close watch on things. We will come back again.
OK park as many have said. Old, but well groomed landscape. WiFi was OK, but got slow at high traffic times. Lots of permanent residents, but I walked the whole park and none really trashed out. Good overnight stay. Good water pressure and good electric. Would stay here again.
This is a no frills RV park, but it is modern, clean, and nice landscaping. Small, but has nice modern laundry, spotless restroom, very nice laundry. Asphalt drive with level concrete slabs at site. Camp host is very tenative and nice. He told this park is changing name in a couple of months to Umpqua RV and Golf. Caution: water pressure is 95psi!!!! We stayed only overnight. Free WiFi is awesome, fast and works good and secure. No pool or hot tub. Good park and cheap.
Just a decent place to stay. We stayed 3 weeks cause of our kids were moving to Ukiah and wanted to help. There is no decent place to stay in the area. The camp host were super and very affective in their job. High (132 volts) electric, low water pressure (36 psi) and very noisy on the weekend with auto racing (I liked!) Have noise curfew of 11:00PM. Restrooms were modern and spotless all the time. No cable or WiFi. However the local hotel within a block has good open WiFi. Water was OK to drink. Would stay there only if no other decent park is available on our next visit.
This park is connected with the Boomtown Casino, but has recently been taken over by KOA. The park is mostly a parking lot with hook ups. Typically over priced KOA. The swimming pool water was very dirty and green! Hot tub looked OK. Wireless did work OK. No picnic tables at site. Tight sites. Our water faucet was leaking fairly good. I notified the front desk and they said "we'll work on that in the winter time". It's no wonder folks stay at Wal-Marts! I'm normally not a whiner or give low number, but this one deserves it.
Large parking lot with lots of dust and dirt, but that's par for the area. Very nice work campers that checked us in and parked us. The WiFi was great and hot even at the edge of the park. Pool was very large and clean, but cold as he**. An ok overnight park.
Park is nicely landscaped. Staff was friendly. The pool and spa were closed due to foul weather. The sites are tight but ours was level and shaded. The WiFi was the weak link couldn't get at site. Had to go to office to have enough strength to connect. Had only one antenna for the whole park. If WiFi would have been better I'd given it a 8
This is a nice park. My site was big but was not level. Had to put 2 shims under wheels. The pool and play area were nice. Hot tub is small but nice. WiFi is the weakest link in this park. Only strong at office area, and even got knocked off during high usage times. Otherwise I'd give this one a 9. Definitely the nicest park in the area. I would go back.
Nice very wooded lots. Big Pines were nice but were dropping needles, sap, and pollen while we were there. Not the park's fault. Super nice owner who is strict with rules and is on premises active in park operation. Don't try to get in this park with a junk RV ! WiFi is spotty (office area only) in that it drops out and you have to go into the office to reboot the router (once to twice a day). I.T. guy can't seen to get it fixed. Large sites, very wide. Restrooms were absolutely spotless and well supplied. Nice book exchange in laundry. NO PETS in this park. Pool clean and nice but not heated. Rec. hall is great and well stocked with stuff for kids to do. Kid friendly park. Excellent maintained park. Take insect repellent this time of year!

We looked at all parks in the area and this is the best and decently priced. But no Wi-Fi. Had to run into town to Starbucks to do computer work. Super nice folks. Well run and organized. Clean heated pool. Alphalt sites with picnic tables. Family oriented. Water had nice pressure and tasted great. Will let you wash your unit, too. Laundry was OK but not cheap as previously mentioned. $1.50 wash/$1.50 dry. Would stay here again.
As many have commented this is a nice older park. The owners and staff were great and friendly. We did have problems with the free WiFi. Some could get on...we couldn't. However I was able to go to the Ford dealer on the corner and get an open Wifi. Bathrooms were very old and dated in our part of the park, but super clean and well stocked. Our electric would flicker and voltage drop at times, but I connected to the site next to me and it worked great. Site 37 had the problem. Had a sweetheart dinner and dance in the "new barn" which was outstanding. Only $15. a couple! What a bargain. The owners MC and are the DJ. It couldn't have been nicer. Maintenance staff very friendly and helpful. This is a Christen based park. Enough for now.
OK park with VERY helpful and courteous staff. Owners were just great. Bathrooms clean. Park is older but nice. WiFi was free, but would drop out and come back again real quick. An overnight stay. I would stay again.
Our second stay at this nice park. Not a resort but very clean, well run, friendly park. As mentioned before now has free WiFi which work well. The bathrooms, laundry and etc. were fresh, modern, and clean. Quite surroundings. What a bargain for one night at Passport America fee of $10.00. Still a bargain at $20.00 regular price! We FT and wish we could find more parks like this in our travels to our destination parks. Water has good pressure and taste very great.
Well we finally did it: rated a RV park a 10! This is the first in about 20 ratings. This is a class park with everything top notch. Pool, hot tub, laundry, club rooms, bathrooms. You name it, it was super. Very helpful staff and the owner was on site and available to the customers. I did see a few rigs with shims under the tires, but ours was level. Great water pressure and electric. Free instant phone at each site as part of the package. This is what a real RV Resort is all about. Thanks for a great experience.
Sites are concrete and narrow, but fairly level. Nice helpful staff yet only 3 people run this park. Clean bathrooms. Laundry was lacking, many out of order machines, needs updating. Pool and spa closed for season the day we got there. Doggoneit. Great water pressure, good electricity. Fairly noisy from Hwy 101. Would stay again. We stayed a week. I noticed a lot of dog droppings on park streets, etc. With limited staff I don't think there is time for the details to be done in the park. Staff was nice and friendly though. With a little help this could be a real nice park.
Sites are tight as are all parks in this area. Fews sites for RV's mostly permanent mobile homes. Nice Deli on property. Nice helpful staff. Clean updated bathrooms and laundry. Pool closed for season the day we got there. Good water pressure, good electricity. Fairly quiet. Would stay again. We stayed a week. Good, decent and reasonable Chinese Restaurant called China Village (casual) on San Marino Blvd., near park.
Very old park, clean, but very dated. Focus is on the little 9 hole par 3, much more than RV park. Overpriced. Paved streets and sites, but old. Pull throughs are short. They did give us 2 sites so we could park our truck next door. Hot tub was clean, but the jets didn't work. No one was interested in fixing that problem. May be the nicest park in the neighborhood, but don't get real excited if you stay here. We stayed here 2 nights. Advertised 50 amps, but I think they have 5 or 6 sites in the back of the park with 50 amp. You can tell this WAS a nice park in it's day. OK for overnight stay. Laundry dated too. Looks good at first sight, but many machines are not working. Out of order signs were stained from age! $2.00 wash and dry.
Sites paved and grassy. Fairly level. Older park but nice and fairly clean. I think a good value for the dollar. Hot tub was small (6 person), very clean, and had nice jets. Still have to be next to Mini Mart for free WiFi. Electrical are mostly 30 amp. and located at the rear of site. Staff nice, friendly and helpful. Several older permanent trailers in the park. A couple of nice laundrys, one with TV and reading room (in rear of park). We stayed for 2 nights. Not a destination park but nice for a night or two.
We stayed at the park for 3 months. This park is very well kept with a very clean pool and hot tub, but they are not in the same location. Restrooms are old but kept clean daily. The laundry is excellent. The park is on a flight path. It is also close to a railroad track, but neither the trains nor the planes bothered us. Management is strict but we had no problem as we follow the rules. Washing both rigs and vehicles is allowed and encouraged. Cable is an extra charge, but WiFi is free as of 10/09/06. A background check (fee charged) is completed on anyone staying a month or more.
Park was laid out weird. Sites were pointed in all different directions. Hard in get in and out due to layout. Gravel roads and sites. Nice staff. Very rustic. No pool or hot tub. Several permanent units were rough and in need of repair. Lots of junk around permanent units made for eyesore. We stayed one night and moved on.
Very large and spacious sites. Sites are gravel with a small concrete pad for picnic table. Road inside park are asphalt. Older park with fair facilities. Site was a bit unlevel and noticed several around us were having problems getting level. Free WiFi was spotty and I had to have them reboot to get working. Have to be in close to office to get signal. No pool or spa. Staff friendly and helpful. Lots to see in this part of the country. This park is located outside of Crescent City by 9 miles, making it warmer and less wind and fog than Crescent City. I think this park is the nicest in the area. Eat breakfast and/or lunch at The New Harvest Cafe in Crescent City. Hwy 101 & Northcrest
Nice park with huge Douglas Firs overhead. Very rustic with lots of needles off of trees everywhere. Very nice and level asphalt pads. New electrical 50 amp electrical pedestals. No cable(one one TV station on antenna). No pay phone or cell service within 30 miles! Clean and nice but just a little rustic for us city slickers! The Old Propect Hotel has great food, kind of upscale and classy. Only Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Call or stop by for reservations. Beckies Cafe in Unionville had great sandwiches and pie. Town of 800 people. Had to go to Shady Cove, 24 miles to get groceries.
Like all have mentioned, this park is a packed parking lot. No cable TV and the WiFi was spotty and I had to have them reboot several times. Owners were OK to us. Just a weak park. No amenities. No discount until you stay a month! Park was always packed with RVs, though. The only reason this park does business is because they are the only one inside the Kansas City area. Next time will take an outlaying park and drive to KC. We parked in a fifth wheel.
