Very nice state park, and I actually got very lucky to get a site here. I kept checking daily until someone cancelled, and I snatched it up. The park itself is very nice, and the water around the island is beautiful. The site we had was a little small but adequate and level. There is no cable, and we couldn't get any local channels on our rooftop antenna. The bathhouses were clean but not air conditioned. Plenty of places to swim, hike, or kayak. The views from this island are spectacular! I would gladly stay here again if I ever get the chance to return to the keys. I would've given it a 10 if they had full hookups and cable (or at least local channels available). Didn't bother me much, but the kids are lost without TV. Overall, a very nice park.
Stayed here for a week while in town for a class. Very satisfied overall. The lady at check in was very helpful and courteous. She allowed me to switch to a more shady site upon request since my a/c struggles somewhat in the sun. Nothing fancy but everything worked properly including the cable tv. Plenty of restaurants/shopping available within a short distance. The greater Columbia area is a paddler's dream. Plenty of places to kayak, as well as mountain biking, and hiking. I would stay here again if I'm in town alone. Probably not if my family is with me but only because there's no pool. My daughter doesn't like any campground without a pool.
Absolutely great. Quite possibly the best campground anywhere. The cast member at check-in was extremely friendly and helpful. He helped us get a shady site and gave us accurate directions to the site. Anything you could ask for as far as things to do, adult or children. We rented a golf cart from an outside source and were very glad we did. This place is huge! Everything was immaculate including the bathhouses. Two swimming pools, but we only used the main one. It too was huge and had a slide and a kiddie pool area. They also had almost non-stop activities for the kids poolside. They show movies at night, also have the "Hoop-de-doo" musical revue. (we didn't go to it). We did enjoy the horseback riding. They offer free bus and boat transportation to the Disney parks and other areas. There's also a wonderful hiking/biking trail from Ft Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge. We would definitely stay here again, even if we don't visit the theme parks. It is a little pricey, but well worth it. The only complaint I can even think of is there were a good many lizards all around. Kind of bugged my wife and kids, but they never bothered anyone. After a couple days I think the girls even got used to them.
