Stayed here for 4 nights while touring the area. Lots of things to do in the area (and with a few longer drives). Very clean well kept grounds, paved roads, level lots, premium sites were very large. We were not bothered by highway noise others mentioned - although you could hear it. Not many scheduled activities for the kids, but that was ok since we were spending much of our time off site. We did enjoy having the DJ there Saturday night. Main bathroom we used was modern and clean. There was another bathroom near our site that was rustic and full of dead bugs the one morning I went there. Showers were $.50 for 7 minutes. Did not use Wi-Fi. Rate included Good Sam discount. Front desk personnel not friendly. Generally one person working at a time - so they got flustered easily (with calls and people waiting). Hookups were in back of site - not an issue for us except for the water. Shared water lines and our hose (25 ft) would not reach. Make sure you have 50 ft. There was a hose already at the site that helped extend to ours - so we were OK. Overall very well kept/pleasing campground. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for a long weekend prior to the 4th of July. Site 29A, which was great since it was close to everything and plenty large. It is right near where a lot of the activities take place, which was a plus for us (wife and 2 girls). Interestingly, there were lots of kids and kid activities, but it was never that loud, particularly in the mornings (quieter than our last two stays at other campgrounds). Really friendly staff, the best by far we have encountered. LOTS of fun activities on Saturday (wife won the 2014 Lemon Sucking contest). Water gun wars, sand volleyball, free shuffleboard (which the kids ages 6 and 11 enjoyed!). Rides for the kids (definitely go on the Hey ride!). Just lots of fun. Pool a bit small but nice. SUPER clean rest rooms, all modern. Seasonals were well kept and friendly. Had the place virtually to ourselves after Sunday morning. Great time at a great place!
I camped here over a weekend early in June. Took my 36 ft motorhome with my wife, 2 kids, and one additional adult. Note that the rate includes 2 adults - there are fees for all other campers. You should call ahead for directions. I was glad I did since I found out that my initial route had a number of detours due to bridge closures. They were very helpful in finding me a route - albeit a narrow/twisty one. Wide enough for my motorhome, however. Campground was very clean, paved grounds, and nice sites. Mostly tree covered, which was nice. Good size lake and plenty of activities for the kids and adults (ceramics, games, bingo, boat rental, tennis, racket ball, catch and release fishing...). Two pools - one indoors - as well as a small sandy beach. Bathrooms were clean - but could use updating. A lot of seasonals - but the way the campground is set up you mostly see your immediate neighbors. Most of the staff was very helpful. We did have one worker at the pool - a long time seasonal - that seemed a bit too happy to convey the pool rules. She was the exception however. Bottom line we had a great weekend and would go back again. A bit pricey with the additional fees for the extra campers, but a great setting.
Great family park. Went over Memorial Day weekend and they had some great events for the family. If you get the chance, definitely participate in the Survivor Challenge. Owners and workers were very nice and put up with all my 'newbie' questions. We had a large space overlooking the lake. Quieter up there - definitely recommend that location. The lower lot with pull thru was busier with a larger play area and more kids. Bathrooms were nice. Not the most updated we have seen but clean. Showers could have been slightly cleaner but nothing bad. Overall great time and great park. Note that this park is well off the beaten path which is part of it's charm. Very enjoyable weekend!
