We have been seasonal campers at this campground for the past two summers. It is great - plenty of shade, level sites, friendly owners and a lovely view. It is located on a beautiful island in the Mississippi River across from Red Wing, MN. You can sit in your site and watch the boats and barges on the river, just feet away from you. The owners take excellent care of the campground, it is always clean, overhanging limbs are kept trimmed and the interior road is graded frequently. Because of the riverfront location, sewer is not available, but there are two dump stations and they do provide a "honey wagon" service. Sites are pull-in or back-in on grass or gravel. Wi-Fi is available at the office and pavilion and in the nearby campsites. Rate shown is the regular daily rate. (The seasonal rate works out to about $13 a day plus electric).

I would have liked to give this campground a better rating, with a little effort it could be a very nice RV park. We stopped for one night, but due to mechanical issues had to stay longer. Pros: Convenient to Interstate but far enough off the highway to be quiet; full hookup sites; sites are wide enough and long enough for big rigs; clean, modern restrooms and laundry. Cons: The sites are quite sloppy. Large ditches take up to 1/3 of your site. Many sites have considerable erosion into the ditches, leaving large bare spots. The sewer connection, located at the very back of the site, is a foot above ground level making draining your tanks a fiddly business. There are fire ant nests everywhere and no sign that management tries to control them. A "stray" hound is fed and cared for by one of the permanent residents (with the knowledge and consent of the campground owners) and it wanders the campground leaving deposits on any site he chooses. The restroom/laundry is located at the office making it about a quarter mile hike from the campground sites. The physical layout of the site made setting up a bit tricky so that the door didn't open over the ditch and our 20 foot sewer hose reached the connection. Adequate for an overnight stop. We would not stay there again. Rate shown reflects weekly rate.

Clean park with level concrete, full hook-up sites with picnic tables. Good Wi-Fi. Nice wooded area for walking, but open sites for satellite dish set up. Excellent staff -- we arrived without reservations but were able to stay for a week and then extend our stay for a few more days. They provided us with area maps, information and recommendations for tours and restaurants. Convenient to I-10. It's easy to get in and out of the Big Easy. The campground is quiet and relaxing with two ponds for waterfowl viewing and fishing -- I didn't see either of the two alligators that they say live there. Rate shown is weekly rate.

Easy access to/from the interstate; wide, level sites; friendly staff. A bit pricey, but it is a well cared-for campground. The gravel roads and sites are well maintained, and the grass is lush. Lots of tenting areas and open space for walking pets, playing frisbee, etc. We would recommend this campground to friends and will stay here again.

Easy access to/from interstate, long level pull through sites. Friendly staff. A good overnight stop. Take the shuttle to Lamberts -- the driver will escort you in the back door and seat you so you don't have to wait in line.

Gravel roads with a few small to medium potholes. Some gravel, some cement pads. Great river views watching the barges. Easy access to I-40 and I-55. Lots of open space for walking pets, throwing a frisbee, etc. FREE LAUNDRY! The Wi-Fi was a bit iffy, but generally usable. Friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.

Very shady campground. Level gravel sites close to Springfield; good Wi-Fi; some highway noise, but not bad.

This park is part of a mobile home park in town. New owners are working hard to remodel/upgrade this park. As full-timers, we stopped here to renew our SD drivers licenses. Stayed an extra 2 days to rest from fighting the wind across the prairie. Very friendly staff. Had a large and very shady lot, but were still able to get excellent satellite reception.

This is a lovely campground with lots of trees and grassy lots. Level gravel, pull through pads were plenty long enough for the motorhome and jeep without unhooking. Although immediately adjacent to the interstate, the traffic noise was only moderate. Friendly staff and nice laundry room with new washers and dryers. Rate is high due to a 16% tax.

Urban RV park easily accessed from I-40. Nice, clean and level gravel sites with a friendly staff. Traffic noise from adjacent road is moderate. Some potholes in the campground roads. We stay here often in our 38 footer, when visiting family in the area. It is convenient to Camping World, WalMart and other shopping and many restaurants.

This is a lovely park in a rural setting. It is 1/2 mile from the interstate and has no highway noise. We arrived when the office was closed, filled out the registration form and found a level site for our 38 footer. The park, while not new, is well kept and provides full hookups (50 amp). The sites have old blacktop and gravel pads with extremely large grassy lots. There are many trees and and a fishing pond. The rate is with a Good Sam discount.
