This is a pretty campground. Our pull through site allowed us to stay hooked up, but we were on top of our next door neighbor. There were several other pull through sites vacant. Why they put us where they did, I don't know. The rate we paid was with Good Sam. Still too much for this campground. The water was unbelievable. We had to go buy water. Taking a shower was worse yet. The water had such an odor to it. Nice over night stop, but don't think we will return.
This campground is to the side and behind their motel. We weren't impressed when we pulled in but changed our mind immediately. The owner went out of his way to help us. Our site has a slight slant but nothing serious. Cement pad. Great cable. Water pressure fantastic. We used Passport America. Can't really say what regular rate is. Paid extra for cable. We would not hesitate to stop here again for a couple of days.
When we arrived we were sent up the hill, in the woods, to park behind another unit. It was not what I had asked for. The next day questioned it. The woman at the desk said she forgot. She remembered my request. We then moved to another area where there was not full service. The Cable was terrible. Fox news was about all. We had paid for our daughter to come and visit overnight $8.00. After seeing others get in for free we told her to park in front along side our car. Nothing was said until the next morning around 11. She was leaving at 2. She was told to move her car. How petty. The area had emptied out and she wasn't blocking anyone. I called the office and complained. Then I complained about the dogs running loose, even the owners, others coming in off the road and not paying, people emptying their grey tanks. They said nothing except she needed to move her car. Well, they lost us as customers and she was checking the place out for a future rally. I don't know how it use to be, but we will not stay at a KOA again. They are too expensive and we have had too many bad experiences.
Where we were was a mud hole. Thought I was getting a different kind of site. We were here in July. Cars parked everywhere. I had to ask people to move their trucks so my husband could get our motor home out when we left 4 days early. Not our kind of campground.
Would have given a higher score, but the roads are in, my opinion, rough shape. Plus a little pricey. The couple running this campground are extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for better hosts. Grocery store not 10 minutes away. Last evening was entertained by mama ducks and their babies. Lake was really pretty and clean. The 50 amp sites are huge. Plenty of room. Would like to stay longer. Will definitely be back.
I would have given this delightful campground a 10 if the laundry was larger. 2 washers and 2 dryers are not enough. Owners are extremely nice. Even let us hide out while a tornado warning expired. This is a good overnight because it's just off exit 58 on 95. We've been here a week. Very peaceful. Not much in the immediate area so make sure you have plenty of supplies.
