Very pricey for its location, however, if you're staying in the Charlotte/Fort Mill area you don't have much choice. They pretty much have the market cornered. The site is nice and it's clean and the staff are very pleasant, especially Bob who spent a lot of time on his golf cart keeping the place in order. We stayed here almost a month and had to pay the daily rate but had no choice. If it hadn't been out of necessity we would never stay here at their daily rate. There is nothing special about the location and there is nothing particularly special about the site other than it is very well maintained but we would expect that from a KOA site. We would stay here again if we had to stay in the Charlotte area but the high tab put a damper in an otherwise pleasant stay.

This place is undoubtedly one of the nicest we have ever stayed. Not only that but we stayed at the Passport-America rate! A large, beautiful lake. We rode our bicycles all around it. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. There are many full time residents but the sites are very clean and well maintained. There is no junk here. The entry and exit is gated and you will be given a key card for your use ($10 deposit). We could have spent a month here! We would definitely return!

We pulled in here to wait out hurricane Ike. We had a front line spot right on the bank of the Mississippi River. An absolutely fantastic view. The sites are angled well for a starboard side view of the river. The other side of the campground is set up to accommodate 5th wheel views out the back side. We had a shade tree which still allowed for satellite reception. The site also allows washing of the vehicle which we took full advantage of. The site we were on was concrete so things did not get all muddy. We spent much of the time watching the riverboat traffic going up and down the river. A very peaceful setting. We found a site on the internet that had pictures and descriptions of most of the riverboats and enjoyed looking up their names and descriptions when they passed by. We even saw the "Mississippi" river boat which is the largest river boat "pusher" ever built in the U.S. Don't rely on your GPS to guide you in. Their directions (Garmin and reportedly others) are not up-to-date. Call the site's office for directions, you won't be sorry. There is a new road that has been built that makes it VERY easy to get to their site. If you use the GPS directions you'll be driving through a nasty part of town. Overall, a very pleasant stay and we would definitely return.

Very clean and neat and well maintained. A great place for a one or two night stay. Walmart is close by but there are no eating places with a table cloth. Many fast food places. The site is easy in and easy out. Overall a very nice place for short term stayover.

We stayed here a little over a week. We liked the area well enough to extend our stay by a week but had to leave early because of hurricane Hanna followed by hurricane Ike. We had “ordered” a spot that had shade, but not too much, so that our satellite dish could find the satellite. When we arrived the spot was absolutely perfect. Reasonably level, shade, but not too much and the satellite receiver worked perfectly. The staff were very cordial and accommodating. When I called to request a credit back on my credit card because of our early departure the staff was very nice in providing the refund. There was absolutely no hassle whatsoever. We were provided with information and coupons for the many attractions around Charleston which we definitely used. There are a number of permanent residents but are situated in their own area and separated by trees. We had read in another review that there were railroad tracks nearby and the trains coming through apparently irritated the reviewer. Although we did hear the train go through occasionally it was never annoying and always short lived as far as the whistle – actually it was rather quaint. We stayed at the Passport-America rate except for the weekend holiday which we received the Good Sam rate of 10% off the regular price. We would rate this park in the top 20 percent of our stays and we would most definitely stay here again. A very enjoyable stay.
