We stayed here for 5 months. Loved the location, close to everything and trolley was very convenient. Grounds are kept up extremely well, nice pool area, adequate exercise room. No "large screen" TV in conference room though (it's been stolen twice!). Also, my bike was stolen within first couple of days we were there. Supposedly soliciting not allowed, but we were approached twice, after office hours - felt a bit creepy about that. Very close to I-8, but we thought of the noise as a waterfall, so it really didn't bother us. Not much of a dog area; they do provide doggie bags, which was handy and appreciated, though often all boxes were empty (we think other campers cleaned them out). If U.S. Mail delivery is too large for mailbox, they "leave a slip in your mailbox" - we had numerous such deliveries, but only twice was a slip left in our mailbox; had to go into office and ask. Once I was even told that we didn't have a package, only to have my husband go back in and yes, we did! Management was nice enough, but seemed a bit haphazard; their favorite comment was "sorry about that" - which felt less than sincere. Very nice that they occasionally have dinners, although found each one we attended to be very unorganized and awkward. All in all a nice park and we would go back, but don't expect too much from the office staff (and the guy at the front desk could use some customer service training).
We love it here, been here before and will return. Great State Park, very friendly and helpful staff and fellow campers. Can't say enough good things about this park, they even now have a few sites with sewer. One of our most favorite parks, hands down.
Only stayed one night; very nice staff and nice park, great pet run area. Seemed to have nice common facilities (pool and meeting room), though we didn't use. We would stay here again, if we ever need to stay in El Paso again.
Very nice and helpful management. A decent park for our short stay (we were there just 1 night). No trees, but it did have a dog run area.
Quite adequate for an overnight. Close and convenient to I-10, though noise was not a problem at all. Denny's is conveniently across the street and a discount with park's receipt (though we didn't get there). Had a slide problem while there and another camper gave us a recommendation of a local RV repair person, who was absolutely awesome.
We only stayed one night and thought this was a nice little park (can't expect too much when price is so reasonable) liked it much better than last place we stayed in Quartzsite. We would definitely stay here again and for a longer period.
This is a typical KOA family friendly park (animals, activities and Halloween decorations a nice touch), well maintained and office staff was excellent and attentive. Hookups can be challenging. Entire evening of music (loud thumping base!) was annoying. SF tour was excellent; highly recommend. Wi-Fi and cable was good. We would definitely stay again.
We liked this park very much; well kept, nice staff, very accommodating. Great location and great feel of the place. We were here for 2 months (monthly rate broken down - plus electric). Will definitely stay here again.
This is a nice, well kept park, however, the managers are better known as The Gestapo. It's almost as if they 'sit in wait' to come harass you. We are all for rules (they are necessary); and it isn't even the rules that get you - it's the manner in which they're addressed/enforced. We found the manager and his wife to be routinely rude and unprofessional in their interactions. We felt as though we were under a microscope the entire time we were there; couldn't wait for our paid stay to be up and to leave. In the office one day, I was absolutely appalled to hear the manger's wife gossiping with office staff about various guests. No where have we encountered such behavior, and no where have we encountered more sullen, unhappy fellow campers. The office staff itself (less the manager's wife) were nice, though not the friendly sort we've experienced at many other parks. We very much liked one of the "park hosts" (in an Excel 5er)...he should be the one managing this place; very personable! If you only plan to stay short term (less than a month), it could be a delightful park (other than the managers), but for a month or more, you'll be relegated "down below" where all the full timers are - vibes not good! Cable was fine; Wi-Fi kept dropping out (frustrating). We've now moved to a nicer, much friendlier park - a little more expensive, but oh so worth it!! Rate reflects monthly rate; we will not stay here again on a monthly basis.
This park is not convenient for the overnighter, but I suppose could be a nice destination park for families. That said, however, while the grounds seem well taken care of, the shabbiness of the many seasonal trailers was far from welcoming; certainly wouldn't want to be parked next to one of these. Thankfully, we were only here overnight, and will not be returning. The only reason I rated it at a "2" is because it does have water and electricity, but that's the best one could say about this place.
What a GEM of a find with this park; it was positively LOVELY, nestled in among gorgeous old, TALL pine trees. Spots are spacious, with nice picnic tables and fire rings. The owner and her daughter we dealt with could not have been nicer, friendlier or more helpful; the best!! We were only planning to spend 1 night, but stayed 2; we would definitely come back. Very nice little town too!
This is a nice looking park, but oh my gosh, the rules are ridiculous. Park is big and has a very nice walking trail that encircles the (stagnant) lake. Wi-Fi was very good. There is a $10 refundable charge for a gate card; you do get it back at check out. Guests are charged $5.00, whether here for 5 minutes or 5 hours, and must leave their vehicles in the general parking lot. There is a sign in the office that describes the attitude: "If you don't like the rules, buy the campground and make your own rules!" There are lots and lots of rules and they enforce every one. We felt as though we were in a prison camp and could not wait to leave. We won't return here, but will gladly go back to a campground in Mystic next time we're in the area. We felt it was too expensive for the amenities offered, the attitude to deal with, and the rules one must put up with.
This campground itself is very nice, but the roads to and through it are horrendous (though they are making an attempt to improve the entrance area). The young man at the front desk clearly didn't want to be here, although other staff were very friendly and helpful. Some seasonal sites were unsightly and one (whom clearly should have known better) left their garbage out well past pick up deadline, which got strewn about during the night. Only one way in and out, and because of the road conditions, is rather time consuming (a more convenient gate is kept closed). WiFi offered, but was sporadic.
This was really a very nice campground. The owners and staff are exceptional; very friendly people and most helpful. The area is beautiful and lovely; park is well kept. Close to local attractions. The only negative would be the biting black flies, made it difficult to be outside at times. That said, however, we would highly recommend this park.
This park is by far the absolute worst place we have been. The staff couldn't have cared less, to say they were unfriendly is itself a gross understatement. We had planned to stay for a month and because of that, we were put in their long term area which was terribly run down and less than desirable. We paid for two nights, stayed only one and moved on. It's a great location, but a horrible park with people that really just don't care. Need I say, we will never return.
This is indeed a very family friendly park and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A well run operation. Sites are gravel and quite a bit unlevel. They had very recently painted the water spigot posts, but neglected to tell us, or post a sign! We were only here 1 night and were overall very pleased; we would stay here again.
We were here for almost 2 months, so the nightly rate reflects the monthly rate. The staff was exceptional: very friendly, helpful and totally accommodating. Everything was always clean and trash picked up. Convenient location. Some long term people, but well kept up. We will definitely return to this park.
This is really a nice park; has super friendly staff and well maintained; roomy sites on gravel. With much rain, you might find yourself in a big puddle. Also, the entrance leaves a great deal to be desired. Getting in/out one encounters numerous and deep ruts, most uncomfortable moving in/out. These comments aside, this really is a very nice park.
