This is one of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed in! It is family run, and obviously the owners really care about their business. They've provided lots of choices and amenities. For example, you can choose a regular full hookup site (like we did), or you can choose a premium site with extras like a swing, paver patio, free newspaper in the morning, etc. We didn't need those extras but it was a nice touch. My main priority in any campground is the cleanliness of the facilities, and these were spotless. Our site was level and nicely shaded with plenty of space. The location is nice too - between the state park and Logan. (Logan, by the way, is a run-down town. We loved the state park but were disappointed with Logan.) I highly recommend Scenic View for a great camping experience near the caves!
This is a really nice state park. It isn't crowded and the park itself is beautiful. The campground is well designed with large sites that give you some privacy. The bathrooms (my #1 concern with any campground) are about what I would expect for state park bathrooms. They're very basic but clean. I wish Delaware State Park had some full hook-ups or even water sites, but it's electric only. If they had those other facilities I'd give them a 10!
This is a really nice campground in Amish country. The campground is HUGE and has lots to do. There is a fishing lake with a lighted fountain, free mini golf, free frisbee golf, free table tennis and pool tables, swimming pool, basketball courts, horseshoes, etc. Lots and lots of activities. My #1 criteria when choosing a campground is clean bathrooms with privacy in the showers, and this campground definitely meets that criteria. There are two shower houses, one of which is brand new while the other is older, but both of them are very well maintained. There were only a couple of things I wasn't crazy about. First, our site... The full hookup sites seem to be packed in pretty tightly, and I would have liked a little more room. And, I thought the price was a little high at $45 a night, although with all the amenities I can see why they charge it. (We don't have kids and didn't use most of the activities, so it felt to us like we overpaid a little.) Overall, though, this is a great campground. We will definitely go back for another visit, and now that we have the lay of the land, we'll choose a more private water and electric site rather than full hookup. If you have kids, I think you'll find this to be a good value with all there is to do.
This was our first camping trip to a state park, and we were pleasantly surprised! The site we had was very wide, as most of the sites seemed to be. The atmosphere here was fun but family friendly - lots of people sitting out at night laughing around the fire, but it quieted down by 11:00 or so. The bathrooms were good, having some bugs and cobwebs but otherwise clean and with private changing areas outside the showers. We'll definitely be back!
We've camped here twice - once in a tent, once in a pop up. Both times we really enjoyed the atmosphere at Autumn Lakes. The campground is centered on a small lake with lots of wildlife including bullfrogs, geese and ducks. In the center is a lighthouse with a light that rotates at night which makes for a fun atmosphere. They have lots of activities and a good camp store. The bathrooms at Autumn Lakes are pretty clean but not great. The showers have shower curtains but aren't very private, and there is no place to change clothes privately which I do NOT like. Throughout the campground they do have pit toilets which I found to be pretty clean and odorless. If the shower situation was better, I'd have given this campground a higher rating. We did enjoy the atmosphere enough to go back a second time and we will probably camp there again.
I wasn't sure what to expect as the campground's web site doesn't have a lot of pictures, but we were booking at the last minute and most of the other Loudonville parks were full. Then we arrived and had to travel back a rural road to reach the campground - I was getting pretty skeptical. We were pleasantly surprised! This campground is really nice. It is full of mature trees so it's nice and shady and very pretty. The bathrooms were basic but in good condition, very clean, and the showers had nice, hot water with stalls big enough for changing clothes privately. The campground was pretty quiet when we visited which was also nice. We'll definitely go back to Camp Toodik.
