Bluff Creek was a gem of a find. The campground was quiet and clean. There was a nice mix of tent, trailer, and larger RVs. During the quiet evenings, a lot of campers were riding bicycles on the paved roads; kids could play in the large commons area. The only down side of the area: the campground is near the Meade paper plant, and several times the air smelled of paper mill odors. We arrived on Friday, and by Saturday morning, the smell was gone. The campground has boat ramps and fish cleaning tables.
We stayed at the campground during a bluegrass festival, and the bathrooms were absolutely filthy! Often no toilet paper in the stalls, papers on the floor. I'm sure this must have had to do with the volume of people using the area, but I would have thought that meant they checked it more often. There are not very many tree'd sites in the campgrounds.
We spent the weekend at Lazy Daze campground and the sites were clean, the park was clean, and never did we see the dirty bathrooms, crowded camping areas etc as described below. Everything was clean, and yes, we used the bathrooms and showers on a daily basis. We have reservations to return next year.
