We stayed for 4 nights in order to experience the outdoors in the surrounding areas. It's just 30 minutes or less away from most of the whitewater outfitters, and horse riding stables. We loved our campsite parallel right by the water. People would put their kayaks, canoes, and floats in directly in front of their campsites. The view from the New River and cliffs across the river was gorgeous! Trains would come thru parallel from the campground, across the river every couple of hours all day and night, but my husband and I slept in our motorhome and didn't hear them and the kids slept in their tents and weren't disturbed by them in the least. Hubby and kids used the bath house regularly and said they were clean. The kids enjoyed throwing a fishing line out and jumping in for swim. The campground sold fishing bait and we also bought firewood from the campground for the fire ring which have a built in grate for grilling. Each campsite also has a picnic table. We had shade so was unable to use our antenna, and the wi-fi was sporadic at our site, but we didn't miss it because we had so much to do, and just loved sitting out and soaking up the views. We didn't want to leave and would definitely come back again!
We literally limped into the campground with no brakes and a flat tire on Memorial Day. The office was closed for the holiday, but a friendly regular came out and recommended the perfect spot for us, considering that we were in need of rv repairs. It was flat, pull-thru, with shade. The next day, the manager referred a repair service truck to help us with our brake problem and we were good to go then. Everyone was friendly, and you just can't beat the price! We stayed 2 nights. We were pleasantly surprised that even though the campground is part of the air force base, it was very quiet with no sound of planes taking off.I would have liked to stay longer, but we had other commitments. I would definitely go back again.
We were just passing thru and hubby wanted to tour the Nascar areas, so we picked this campground for 1 night. It was very clean and quiet and everyone was friendly. It is a no-frills campground tailored for the race crowds.Very close to the racetrack and Concord Mills.
This was our second time at the campground and we were only passing thru this time and stayed 1 night. The staff was very friendly and gave recommendations when we were choosing our spot. We had a nice long shaded pull-thru with full hookups and didn't have to unhook our towed vehicle. This is a beautiful campground with lots of kid/family activities, and we enjoy staying here.
We camped here on Memorial Day weekend for 2 nights visiting family on our way down to Biloxi, MS. This is definitely a no frills campground. We were told by family members that it was flattened by a tornado a couple of years back. In spite of all this, it was very clean, and quiet. We had a pull thru site with a concrete patio. Plenty of area to walk our dog, and there is a small playground. We did not use the shower facility or clubhouse, but they looked clean. The campground is close enough to Decatur and Huntsville.
We were just passing through the area so only stayed 1 night out of the Memorial Day weekend. The rate reflects that it was on a holiday weekend. Everyone was friendly and they provide an escort to your site. We were on a pull-thru site without a patio which was fine for us. The campground was filling up fast with trailers backed up against each other, but we luckily had a site to ourselves and didn't even have to unhook our towed vehicle. This place has lots of activities for everyone (pony rides, pool, playground, and movies). I could see coming here for a week to decompress and not leaving the campground. They will even deliver your food order from their cafe to your site for free. Lovely area and I highly recommend it especially for families.
