Fantasy Island is just a small park. You have to make a sharp left turn on a busy road when coming from the north. Access from the south is very easy. There is waterfront access but not all campers let you pass by over their site. Our site was quite level. Wi-fi signal is adequate for email and browsing. Since June 15th this park is under new management, and they try to do their upper best. Arriving, they were very helpful and explained everything to us. Then we had a problem with our motorhome. The jacks did not go down. The office gave us some phone numbers for mobile RV-services but they would not come. Then one of the owners came and helped us. He phoned several people and within 30 minutes he could solve this problem. That is service, is not it?. It is a pity that we had no time to stay longer because we were heading for DC. But we will come back (hopefully without RV-problems!) Rate is PA-rate.
This park is located some blocks right of business Hwy 87 and W Red River Road. It is close to Riverside Golf Course. It has no restrooms or showers but some 20 full hook up sites. There is a garbage bin on each site. You have to deposit your fee in a box: $ 12 a day or $ 60 a week. The money is collected every morning as the garbage is. It is a wonderful little place. We spent three nights here and will come back.
Although the swimming pool was closed (off season) as the playground was (closed for improvements) our two grandkids had a wonderful time as had their grandparents. They liked the hiking very much as biking around in the vicinity of our motorhome. The sites are not very level and not well maintained. But improvements are being made. The WiFi-signal is very weak and just acceptable in front of the ranger station. The golf course is getting worse every year. No maintenance at all, and the green fees raised from $9.74 to $25.00!
This park is is easily located off US Hwy 59 and therefore suitable for an overnight stop. All sites are concrete and more or less level. Hook up connections are first class as is cable TV. Although the WiFi signal is excellent, the bandwidth is too narrow. The swimming pool is pretty small and needs some refurbishment. The hot tub is fine. Park staff is friendly. There is no ample social programe so we think this park is not very suitable for Winter Texans. We stayed here three nights. Rate is inclusive Good Sam discount.
It is a nice park somewhere in the middle of nowhere. But right on the ocean. From our pull through we had a beautiful view over the ocean. The sites are (to) close together. Cable TV is excellent. Wi-Fi is poor. Staff is very friendly. We stayed here three nights but (if you are not a fishing guy) it is just a nice stopover when you are traveling along the coast. Rate is PA which is valuable for three nights.
This park is adjacent to HW 59 but road noise is not a problem. The sites are concrete and level. Restrooms and showers are very clean but not modern. WiFi works but not very fast. Cable TV is more than excellent. The pool is to small to swim. It is more like a giant bath tub. Owners and staff are very friendly and thanked us three times for the business. We stayed here four nights but it is, in our opinion, a park for an overnight stay. Although there are some Winter Texans. We would stay here again if heading south. The rate is one night PA (until November 1st) and three nights with 20% discount.
The entrance to the park is very narrow. There ia a large pool but it's not heated. Restrooms and showers are just more than basic but clean. The big advantage is the proximity to "downtown" Fredericksburg and the absence of noise. WiFi is not excellent but it works. We stayed here one night and paid the PA-rate. We would come here again if we intended to visit Fredericksburg.
This is just a park for an overnight stay. It is conveniently situated of I-10 but that is all there is. There should be Wi-Fi but the manager told us that it does not work. Restrooms and showers are very basic but clean. No landscaping at all, just dust. We paid the PA rate: $ 10.
It is a nice park with easy access from Interstate 10. Staff is very friendly. Sites are spacious. We were put into a pullthrough with no shade but there are a lot of back-ins with large trees. Wi-fi was not excellent but worked well. Restrooms and showers (private cabins) were very clean. We stayed here for three days. Price paid was 2 nights at Passport America rate and one night with a Good Sam discount.
Nothing positive to tell about this park. It is very, very noisy. The Interstate 10 is adjacent, and a train track is next to the Interstate. The heated pool and jacuzzi were cold, the putting green is just a rug, no cable TV, and just one (Spanish) program by the air. Dog waste all around our site. The only positive are the clean restrooms. The rate is $ 15 PA plus $ 3 for electricity (we did not use our air conditioners nor our water heater). We camped here one night. We would never come here again.
This park is pretty simple but all the facilities work. It is just far enough from Interstate 10 and the train track to be quiet. Staff is friendly ,and they have complementary coffee and waffles in the morning. Rate is PA. A nice park for a one night stop.
The Palms is the best park we ever visited. My wife would give it a 12 but 10 is the maximum. Staff is extremely friendly. The park enters its third season but everything looks brand new. Restrooms are excellent as are the two large pools and the two large jacuzzi`s. Roads are very wide. It is a typical snowbird park, and people were just coming in the second half of October. We intended to stay 3 nights but extended to 4 and later to 6 nights. There are numerous activities during the season, and we were unhappy to leave. And not to forget the hamburger-party free of charge on the day we arrived. We would surely return but it is (perhaps) too far from Houston (TX).
The only advantage of this park is its proximity to a MTS-trolley stop. Just park your car in front of your RV and with a day pass ($ 5) you can use the whole metropolitan trolley system. It is even possible to go to the border (Tijuana). The biggest disadvantage is its proximity to Interstate 8. It is one of the noisiest parks we ever visited. The rate is the PA rate, but you have to pay $ 4.95 per day extra for Wi-Fi. We spent 3 night here.
We stayed 4 days in this 55 or better park. We fully enjoyed the two swimming pools and the four spas. In the beginning of October most of the seasonal people did not arrive yet, so the park and the pool were pretty quiet. The only thing we missed was a table on our site. Wi-Fi was nor excellent but it worked, free of charge. We will come again. The rate is the PA-rate
Very friendly staff, they started just a week ago and are willing to upgrade the park. They gave us a lot of information about where to go and things to do. We have got a site opposite to the office and WiFi was perfect. We stayed here two nights in our 33 footer with a PA rate.
Real mountain RV park, but very easy to get in. Staff was very helpful. We had a pull through next to the bathhouse. The site was not level, but it was a nice spot with a lot of trees and shade. We stayed three nights using a PA rate.
