Will love to return in a few years and see how it's changed: they are adding cabins to complement the cement pull-through slabs. Everything we saw was great except, like most of East Texas, be prepared to combat ants in the summer. Not far off a state highway but located in the country and secluded. Surprised more haven't found this campground.
Great alternative location since the RV park at Rudolph Lake campground was full on the weekend. We stayed 4 nights; very busy on weekend and moderate on Monday & Tuesday. Staff always busy; bathrooms kept clean daily. Only concern we had was how fast people drove (up to 20 mph) with tons of children on scooters and bikes on the main roads.
Great park for overnight stay while traveling, or if you have relatives/friends in the area. Easy in/out access. The host was outstanding. We had said we'd be late arrivals and he told us our site number on the phone. Due to highway construction not being as bad as they said, we arrived early. He came over, greeted us, but was also checking to make sure it was us and not someone else who just pulled into the slot. Food at Ole Sawmill Cafe was great also. Thanks!!!
