We generally take full advantage of the CO state parks but this was our first & only time here. Negatives: Dusty, right next to I25 & traffic, bugs bad enought to not be able to sit outside, too many campers with barking dogs. Postives: full hookups in some loops, good bird watching, easy access to town.
Super convenient to RMNP, not sure why a previous complaint about the road noise, it didn't bother us in the least. It's not a "luxury" resort by any means but everything was well kept and the staff was friendly. Yes it is not paved and the sites are dirt/gravel with grass in between but the views are outstanding. The only sites with shade are some of the back ins. Also the cable & WiFi worked very well while we were there. We'd stay here again.
Lots of shade: one nice feature. Unfortunately lots of weeds as well in the sites. Seemed like mostly an overnighters place as the park would empty out almost every day when we were here. It's an old KOA park, it was decent enough although overpriced for what you get. You're in between I-90 and I-25 so you can occasionally hear traffic but it's not too bad. Place could use a refreshing but is ok for a short stay.
The nicest RV place we've stayed at period. Note that there are "owned" individual sites as well as those owned by the resort, and they're only for Class A rigs less than 10 years old. The owner sites are nicer with amenities (paved driveways, gas outdoor fireplaces, etc). The sites owned by the resort are smaller & generally just gravel driveways. It's worth it to get an owned site for a little more $ for the stay if you're going to be around for more than a few days. One down side is there are no shade trees, unlike the KOA which is just above the resort on a hillside which is nicely shaded. They'll schedule a mobile wash service to come out & give your rig a top to bottom scrub including the roof: our cost was $85. It was worth it. Overall a nice place, will definitely consider coming here again if we decide to come back to the Flathead Lake/Glacier NP area.
Very nice place, well kept & cared for. Sites in the front part of the resort have more trees for shade than the group in the back. Had an end pull thru-very wide & deep with nice shade. Will definitely stay here again. Price was with KOA discount card. Only reason I didn't rate as a 10 was water pressure in the mornings seemed lower than later in the day, and hot tub only had one position jet working--all minor stuff..
Beautiful place, sites well maintained and very spacious. Be aware that the entrance/exit gates are narrow. Be careful if you have a bigger rig. You also have to watch the tree branches. Only reason I didn't give a 10 is no playground equipment for the kids but tons of room for them to run around. Lots of bugs in the evenings though-otherwise they didn't bother us at other times. Definitely a bargain at the $24 with 50 amp F/H/U sites. Will stay here again.
Decent place. We stayed on 2 overnight stops. Be aware that it's sandwiched between the airport on one side & very active railroad tracks about 1/4 mile away on the other. Airport wasn't an issue since they stopped flying around 9pm & started back up around 6:30am. Heard trains around 2-3 times during the night; if you're a light sleeper this is probably not the best place. Playground equipment was pretty minimal for the kids, and it had a doggie play area that looked pretty nice.
We absolutely love this place since moving to Colorado 2 years ago. We camp here 3-4 times during the season. Word of warning though, you can get some pretty vicious winds in the spring. There are tons of walking trails and you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but you're only just outside of the Springs. Another note of caution when entering off of Hwy 119 with your rig: turn wide at the road to the park entrance when coming in from town.
Huge place-expect lots of traffic in and out. Lots of activities for kids but you can expect a zoo atmosphere on the weekends in the summer, during the week it was a little less hectic. Wi-Fi wasn't that great-worked best early in the mornings. Don't waste your time in their restaurant, way overpriced and the food wasn't worth it. Large well stocked convince store-great location in the Black Hills. We'd stay again if we ever get back up to that part of the country.
