We loved camping here. It's a toss up between this (New Brighton), and Seacliff. Seacliff is neat because you are right at the beach. But, New Brighton is a nice 'family' campground. They share the same beach (though a long-long walk between them). Nice shade trees all over the park. A very nice setting!

We really did not care for this campground very much. As others have said, it seems to have a lot of potential if Thousand Trails would give it more attention. The staff was very nice, both at gate, and the store. The full hookups all worked as expected. But this place is really out there! It is very far to the nearest town. We left early because the place just seemed kind of icky. For one thing, our ATT cell phones did not work here. 2 of our kids' bikes got flats from all the puncture vine weeds that are all over. Half of the trees looked dead, & the other half (not evergreens) left leaves that had not been raked up in months. Most sites were closer together than most other Thousand Trails parks we've been to. They no longer offer horse riding. And just overall this park seemed to lack any character. We were here at the end of December 2008/January 2009, so maybe it looks better in the spring or summer. We did enjoy the Pinnacles which was about 40 min south of the Thousand Trails park.

This is still a very nice park with a wonderful pool. The staff though has slide down a lot. While most are very nice, one older guy at the gate seems cold and almost rude. Both him and the park manager(white cowboy hat) seem to be on a power trip. But, we just try to ignore there attitudes, and have a good time anyway because it is nice TT campground.

Very nice LARGE Thousand Trails park. Our family really liked this park. Paddle boat races in the morning(free) Nice pool(kina small though). Very nice clean private lake. It is so spread out we ended up driving or rode bicycles most of the times we went to the pool, lake/store. A wide varity of different types of sites availabe. Very nice friendly/helpful staff!

Resort?? No. But it is Simple, Clean, and easy to get in and out of. (Although at night the sign into the park is kind of hard to see) We would stay here again if traveling through the area and need a nice quite place for a stay over.

Kind of a different park. I never once saw any one that worked there the 3 nights we stayed. Not even at check in or check out. Very plain parking lot type of park. Restrooms were never unlocked, but with full hookups, who need them anyway. It is a nice location more or less right on the ocean. But you can not hear the ocean (waves). Even though it is a parking lot, there is enough room to put out your awning, although our trailer only has one slide, so a rig w/slide outs on both sides may have less awning room. Hard to "plan" a trip there because they do not take reservations. It is first come first serve.

The service from the staff was very low. Much less service than even a state campground. But, that's not the reason to come here. It is a wonderful location. And they do keep it clean. We happened to get a larger site right on the river. If I ever came again I would want the same spot!(Sorry don't remember the site number.) The river is so nice, and the sound of it is so soothing to sleep to. The kids had a great time and played in the river most of the time. The two worst things about this campground are: (1) There are no sewer hook ups, and no dump station. You have to go a few miles up the road and pay to dump at a state park. (2) When you enter (and leave) there is an extemly tight 'J' turn at the bottom of the hill into the park, with tall trees lining the turn. So if your trailer is over 27' well, it is very difficult! That said I loved the stay, but would only return in a smaller motorhome (NOT our 30' travel trailer), and have a 100 gallon gray water tank. Improve the turn into the park, I'd give it a solid 8. Add sewer hook ups maybe a 9.

This is a nice Thousand Trails park. The staff is excellent!! The sites are nice and many of them give you some elbow room between you & the next RV. Nice pool. Some sites have shade trees. Only a small section of the park seemed to be in WI-FI range. The main thing wrong with this park is no sewer hook ups. If they would install full hook ups I'd give it a 9, or 10.
