We spent 5 nights here in a pull-thru site facing the ocean. The staff were extremely nice and the property was clean. The only issue at all that came up was the internet kept crashing due to bandwidth hogs (people who use "free" internet to stream videos, download movies or game). The staff was doing the best they could but this campground could stand to add a filtering system to their internet (this prevents downloading/streaming, etc). Many other campgrounds do this with much success. Hyclass is a lovely campground and we would return.
Very nice campground and very nice staff. The only caution is that if you have a tow-vehicle, be cautious, there are significant hills, especially the main entrance (about a 10% grade). Lovely staff and the little park at the entrance is very nice. WI-FI worked great and had plenty of room to pull in 37' with a big tow vehicle. We will stay there again and would recommend it.
The only reason this park does not get a "10" is the price. Everything about it exceeded our expectations. From the Ambassador who showed us where our site was, the immaculate laundry and shower rooms, to the very friendly staff. I was all perfect. Very close to Baltimore Inner Harbor (go see the USS Constellation) and very close to DC. The park even has a nominally priced shuttle to the Capital which is much cheaper than parking there. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
This park is pretty. The staff (and their attitudes) are not. Was refused the Good Sam rate upon arrival and we spoke with their office manager about their declination of giving our discount upon our arrival. First, she again refused to give it, claiming that even though, 1. There is a Good Sam Club sign on the wall saying that members get a 10% discount. 2. She was so adamant that she called G.S. Customer Service and was told that she is supposed to give it. After she got off the phone, she said that “this one time” she would give it to us, but they were absolutely NOT going to be forced to give it in the future and she ripped the sign off the wall. We left this place a day early due to horrendously rude campers (one man screaming curses at his wife and kids for over an hour) with multiple families (tents, rigs, etc) on each site, dogs running loose through campsites, kids unsupervised running through sites, rude staff, manager and an employee who came to our door and asked if we were “enjoying our stay”. We asked him about “quiet” rules, maximum people on site rules and the G.S. issue. He suggested we buy a “pet alligator” (we are from Florida – so we believe this is why he made this snotty comment), to keep the kids and dogs out of our site. We just wanted you to know that they have NO INTENTION OF HONORING GOOD SAM MEMBERSHIPS THERE and are NOT motivated at all to actually service their guests. Just want to pack them in as much as they can for the money and ignore all the horrible behaviors.
The entrance from either direction from RT 32 is a hairpin turn that we barely made, then a sharp uphill climb in the reverse direction to the office. The bathrooms were very run down and dirty. This is NOT a good location for any Class A and especially not a big rig. All the roads are hills with tree roots growing through them. All the sites are sloped except the ones the full-timers have. There is a pool and a playground.
We were at this park for five days and had not a single complaint about anything. Everything is well maintained, peaceful and clean. The staff were very helpful when we checked in and were given a site that was too small. They helped us find a much bigger site and showed us around the park to get there. The parking pass for the campground gives you free ($10 each) parking at the three parking lots for Niagara Falls. It is a big savings if you really want to see it all, since it will take you a few days. If you have your passports, you can do the nightlife across the border in Canada and watch the falls. Perfect and well planned location and campground.
We found this little gem by accident and are very grateful! It is lovely. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and even stayed a little late to let us in. Don't take the negative comments about the mud too seriously. This is camping! All the areas were well cut out and marked off. Some of the smaller sites are just that. Smaller and not intended for a big rig. The staff allowed us to drive through and find a site that would accommodate our big rig and just report it back to them. The bathrooms do need some attention/increased budgetary consideration though. That is the only down side to this lovely campground.
We stayed at Belle Chase-Aviation Arbor for 2 weeks. Wonderful accommodations. Immaculate, secured (with locked access-code doors) laundry and shower/rest rooms. All sites are paved double wide, so you don't have just your coach on the pad, but also have a full pad area to camp on. Only missing thing are picnic tables. Currently are there are not any on site. Great base camp for just about any tourist attraction around the city or outlying areas. Excellent staff. Only suggestion is to remind them of the discount of a day's rent if you stay more than a week at a time. Can't wait to come back.
