We've been camping at this park for years. Started off tent camping and now camping 2-3 times a year in a popup camper. Camp site was clean and level. The beach area was beautiful and the water was just perfect for our week long visit. The kids loved the daily activities scheduled by the park rangers and AmeriCorps volunteers. We did miss the Kayak tour to the cement ships. (Make your reservations early for that one). You can catch all the crabs you can eat right here next to, or on the pier. We got ourselves a nice bucket full in about 45 minutes. And steamed them back at the campsite. Total cost was $5 for bait. You can't beat that. My only suggestion for this park and for many other parks is to have a camping with pets section. Other than that this is absolutely our favorite park in VA.

We just camped 3 nights here. What we liked. The water park is great. Plenty of slides and multiple pools for kids of all ages. They even have an adult only pool. Pools were very clean. The lake and beach were beautiful and also clean. Kids will love the trampoline in the middle of the lake. They have mini golf and an ice shop as well. It was hot the weekend we went and I couldn't convince anyone to play. The dislikes: no designated pet areas. We had some all night barking dogs next to us. Also, it gets a little loud from 8:00pm - 9:00pm with all the folks cruising in their golf carts playing there radio loud. But each night it seemed to quiet down after 9:30pm. If you don't have a shower in your RV you will be disappointed with the shower facility. Only 1 shower in each bathroom. No AC and it wasn't very clean by the end of the day after all the lake folks used it. Other than those 2-3 things. This place is beautiful. Staff is very friendly and attentive. We stayed on a supersite. But really all the sites are nice here. Great camp store with just about anything you might need. If you need something for the RV there is an RV store just down the street in Urbanna.
