Stayed during the last weekend of Albuquerque Balloon Festival, hence the higher price. The park is clean, has a large dog run (short fence for large dogs, though), has a nice free continental breakfast daily, nice store. There is a plethora of information about the area (restaurants, hiking trails). Now the negative- many sites are closer, and one cannot choose your sites; dog run was smelly and staff would come into run without any concern whether you had control of your dog before he opened the gate; jacuzzi was broken, and staff was surly when asked about it (said they couldn't help that it took a week to fix it); pool is there but was closed for the season. The website advertised a shuttle to the Festival. When I arrived I found out it was $31per person per session. I found out the city offers a Park N Ride service for $12 per session (if you buy tickets online up to the night before. It is $20 per person if you buy at the pick up site). I strongly suggest the use of this service; it worked out wonderfully for us. Would not stay here again.
Park is a campground; calling it a resort is an overstatement. Park is clean and well maintained, but sites are gravel and approach through park could be improved (paved). Sites are a bit close and sewer hook up at sites on "middle" level have sewer hook ups toward front of RV- making them useless unless you have 2-3 sewer hoses. They charged a $5 per pet fee (for 2 days) and provided only one dispenser for disposal bags and NO trash cans; do not feel pet fee was warranted. Laundry charges were outrageous-$4/wash & $3/dryer. Have a nice bar/restaurant on the premises but did not eat there. Premises has access to Glenwood Canyon Bike Trail- fantastic wide paved trail coursing through the canyon- very much enjoyed walking the dogs along there. Would stay again if in area.
Rate reflects Passport America discount (is unlimited). VERY nice park. Sites in the center are a bit tight so I rec asking for sites along fenceline (can access map online). Is south of Moab and thus very quiet; being in a residential neighborhood made me much more comfortable than being along the main street, as many of the parks are. Also limits road noise. Owners very friendly; front desk rep Tasha outstanding! Park very pet friendly- area to walk dogs augmented by being able to walk at the adjacent county horse stables next door. Park provides extensive cable coverage. Would have stayed longer but for time- my husband and I have already talked of going back to Moab to do more hiking -would definitely stay at O.K. again. Arches Nat'l Park is not to be missed. Also- MUST have carnita (pork) tacos at Wake and Bake downtown. Only reason I gave a 9/10 is that sites in the center are a bit tight and there are only 2 washing machines availble.
Park was immaculate. My husband and I felt comfortable there; campground was tucked away and felt safe/secure. Amenities were abundant- a pool, small exercise area/gym, jacuzzi. Negatives-Staff was professional but not particularly friendly. Sites were close together and a bit difficult to manuver into. Given the additional pet fee should have had a better area designated- area was large enough but not enclosed and sloped- felt like I was walking my dogs in a drainage ditch. Did have disposal bags and trash bin available. Given the cost cable TV should have been available. However, only other RV park in Golden is the city park- (drove by)- was nice but very open, downtown and security was questionable. Therefore would choose Dakota Ridge again. Loved Golden- great downtown area- immaculate with a nice walk along Clear Creek, many shops and restaurants; also enjoyed a great tour at the Coors plant.
Very nice and accommodating owner. We called late in day and owner was very helpful in directing us to the park and welcoming us. The park is very clean and tidy and the pool was impressive. The park is small and has a family feel. They welcomed our pets as well. The pool was impressive for a small park. It is within easy access of interstate and there is a convenience store across the street. We stayed overnight; and used a Camp USA discount. We would stay again.
