After reading the reviews, we were a little concerned about staying here due to the "rude" person who works there. We thought he had left since the comments had improved. He is still there and apparently he is in charge of the place. There is a gate that requires a key card. We had to ring the buzzer before we checked in. He approached us and before we could even say anything he said "I SHOULD HAVE LET YOU SIT THERE ANOTHER 10 MINUTES!" Nice, don't you think? The place itself is nice except for the handwritten signs that are in a few places. You are required to either pay a $5 deposit for the key card or leave your membership card with them. The highway noise is quite loud and I didn't think the dust would bother me, but it really is dusty there. Be careful when doing laundry as the iron level is high in the water. We stayed here for a month. We probably should have paid for a day or two to make sure we liked it before paying for the entire month upfront.
The office is a mess. We felt as if the entire place was run by teenagers and even kids younger than that. The site we had reserved was not available and apparently it had not been available for months. The owners stood in the back of the office, but never once spoke a word. We were given a list of available sites. We chose one in the wooded area and after we were parked, another couple said they had reserved that site the night before. They told us the office is very disorganized. We decided to move to another site as this couple had been waiting for the site to open for a few weeks. It took us 2.5 hours from the time we arrived until we found a site. We would have left but we wanted to stay in this area for a month, and we were tired from driving all day. No one ever picked up our trash on our road as we were told they would. I asked about it and supposedly a message was left, but nothing ever changed. The grass around the lake was never cut and it was knee high. The owners never once spoke to me, even though I waved and said hello. We had to ask twice for our electric meter to be read the day before we left and it was finally read after dark. If there are dog breed restrictions, they are not enforced. There were pit bulls which were a little scary as the owner didn't seem to have control. If you have a dog that loves to bark, you will have a lot of company. It wasn't an all bad stay, but the lack of adults running the place bothered me. It is located just outside of town where there are several restaurants. It is also located near a national park.
We loved this park! The only things we did not like were the Wi-Fi went in and out and was a total pain to use and there needs to be more larger sites. Many people were parked on the grass or on the road because their vehicles did not fit in their driveway. However, this is a wonderful campground! There is a bus depot right on the site. There is a cafe with good food and decent prices. Tons of activities for the kids. The park is clean and nicely landscaped. Nice store with camping supplies, food and gift items. Location is great. Definitely would love to camp here again. We were here for a week.
This is a very nice resort. We stayed for a week and had a very nice view of the canal. Luckily, the place was basically empty when we were there otherwise we would have had a problem walking our dogs. Dogs are not allowed to walk on other sites and there is not a dog walk. Unsure where you are supposed to walk the dogs. We walked on empty sites. The staff was practically invisible, but we never needed anything. It was a nice location and we enjoyed our stay here.
We were only here for a night and didn't arrive until about 7 p.m. The owner was very nice and helpful. The sites are all gravel and a little rough. The park itself was not great for dog owners. There was not a lot of walking area unless we wanted to walk in the woods and I didn't want to do that after dark. There were dogs running free which always makes me nervous when I am walking my dogs. It was fine for one night, but wouldn't want to stay here for much longer.
This is a park for for seniors over the age of 45. We were disappointed in this park. The sites were gravel, not level and full of weeds. We were in the short-term area and the sites were very close together. The road getting to the sites was narrow. The Wi-Fi had a very poor signal, so we could not use it. There is a large open field for dogs to play. I would not stay here again.
We stayed here for just one night. Arrived after 7 p.m. The sites are concrete and level. The Wi-Fi worked well. The sites are little close together. It was a very clean park. There is a nice paved path to walk along the lake. We would stay here again.
We stayed here for 2.5 half months. The park managers are very nice and visible. The laundry is cheap at $1. The park is very quiet. There is not a shower house or bathrooms nor a playground for children. This did not affect us since we do not have children and do not need a shower house. The only negative I have is that the leash rule is not enforced for dogs. The electric is high at $.14/kWh but that is not the park's fault. There are more long term residents here than just people passing through, but it was clean and well kept. The managers were always working on improvements. We would stay here again.
