We live about 5 miles from CG. We stay here several time a year, just to get away. Bought new fifth wheel so we took it to Dan Nicholas to make sure everything worked right before longer trip. They have upgraded to 50 amps on each site. We stayed in #28, back in next to lake. Great CG. Wooded sites, paved roads and grave sites. Sewer is at dump station. Water and electric is available. Great place to go. Would recommend. Park has much to do, train ride, ferris wheel, petting barn, paddle boats and fishing. Fees apply ($1 or $2).
Great place to camp. Stayed there a week and it was wonderful. Not too far from ocean. Took a day trip on the ferry to Oakracoke Island. Neat place. A little crowded but didn't have the feel of being too restrictive. Everything was very clean. People friendly. Will go back.
Have stayed here a couple of times. Last stay it sleeted and started snowing while we were there. We decided to leave and the owners gave us a voucher for the nights we didn't stay to be used with next 12 months. Real nice people to deal with. Some roads are very steep going down to the lake. Overall a good campground. Will go back.
Good waterfront campground. Many permanent sites near water. We had a hard time getting camper in a tight spot. Several workers were very helpful. Fishing was good on the pier. Will probably not go back. Lots of foot traffic near office and number of boaters around area. A little noisier than we like.
Great little horseshoe shaped campground with a running stream on two sides. We have been there many times and always enjoyed our stays. Bath house is outdated and needs work. They have live music under big shelter on Sat nights with a pot luck covered dish dinner before the show. Fun place. Sunday morning worship is nice also. They have done some remodeling due to weather damage in 2004. A couple of sites are tight to get in but overall a great campground. Will continue to be one of our favorites.
We had stayed here during summer of 2006 and had a bad pull-through site. Had a great time at the pool and waterslide. Hay ride was fun. We went back in October to see the Halloween weekends. Had a wooded VIP site. It was cold and rainy but had a great time. Participated in campsite trick or treat. Lots of camp goblins came around. Campers decorated their site and it was neat to wal around at night and see decorations. Stayed in #52 next to bathhouse. Bathrooms were very clean. Showers clean and nice. We will go back.
