Well kept campground. Friendly staff. Was told antenna would pickup up 1 or 2 channels, found over 20. Trade off was no wi-fi up the hill from rec hall/pool. Abundant shade and roomy sites. 15 miles from Shady Maple store and restaurant. An Amish country must do! We would stay here again. Passport America Rate.
This is a fun little campground. Near many Civil War battlefields. Cable only on supersites, plenty of channels with antenna. Wi-fi worked well. Staff was very pleasant. The only confusing part was the $8 fee for use of lake, trampolines, etc. Would loved to have seen the Blues Band that was playing, but felt price was over the top as we don't use the pool or Lake area and came back only for last set. Rate was Passport America. Will be staying here again.
This Park is under reconstruction. The bath house and Cabins are being repaired. That said the pool and sauna were nice. The cable had many channels but, the WiFi was weak at times. Wind was very strong w/ no fault to the campground. Very secluded area-near Ferry to Oracoke Island. We would stay here again.
Quite simply put, this is a nice stop and go. Park is on the older side of life, and on weekends can feel like a RV sales lot as sites are TOO close together. Lots of families for the weekend and pool was always full. Still not a bad park for the money, I just wouldn't call it a resort. We would stay here again if I needed a overnighter.
This was our second stay at this park in 2 years. How quickly it has gone downhill. The good: WiFi and clean bathrooms. The bad: well the list is too long. The owner/manager seems to think travelers are too much trouble as this park caters to the seasonals. When I went to office to complain about no cable, I was first blamed for having an old analog TV. (It works fine at all other cg's.) Then told Comcast had fixed everything weeks ago. (Hello, I'm a cable contractor, you don't have cable!) Apparently they have Verizon TV at the house and others will have to make do. Second, when your laundry equipment won't shut to run, the problem is yours, not mine. Was told to keep slamming the door and it should work. Third, when told of being stung by wasps at the dumpster, manager acknowledged they had an issue with them, but no concern about my welfare as I stand there (hand swollen). This should be a $20 park and go stop at best. From Florida to Maine: this was the park where I got the least for the most $$$. We have spent our last penny with these Yahoos. Get out of the business if you don't care about your travelers. We definitely won't be back.
A lovely little Campground. Pull throughs had no sewer (as of now) but sites in rear of park were fine. No cable TV, but you could pick up a few channels with a batwing. Pool was busy most days, as was ice cream shop. The wood they sell is more like carpenter leftovers, better left at a construction site. AT&T and Verizon worked well, but WiFi was hit or miss. Signal showed good strength, but would fade in and out and lose connection. Went on a farmers market tour and saw some amazing scenery. Will stay here again. Rate reflects PA discount.
This is Basic camping. They have a pool that seems to be the main attraction. WiFi was available only by office. Batwing provided a few channels, so you can at least get weather info. Shaded and quiet. Rate reflects AAA discount. We would stay here again if in the area.
I was very surprised with the conditions of this park. Very clean and tidy throughout. We stayed 1 night on way to Cape Cod, 4 nights on the way back to explore area. It was a little difficult to find with GPS, but with call to the office, were talked right in. Pool was full most days and store items very reasonable. Will be spending more time here in the future. Rate reflects PA discount in cash.
Pleasant country setting. About 20 min's. to town on a long and winding road. If you want to donate to god, there are 4 religious stations picked up by the batwing, that are 24 hr. fundraisers. No cell phone service, AT&T or Verizon. Wi-Fi up by office only. Rate reflects PA discount. If you want a quiet, removed from electronics CG this is it. If you want TV bring a Sat. dish or listen to the radio and have a fire, as we did. We would stay here again.
This the second time in three years we have stayed here. For what you pay per night you would be better off in a hotel. Stock Island where Boyd's actually is, is more of a getto neighborhood. Crimes reported daily in paper suggest stabbings, drugs, and fights are a daily occurance. Did not feel safe to go to local store for ice. This place is overpriced for where you are. Have made our last stop in this Hood, will not be return.
We stayed for 3 nights during the week. Sites are roomy and clean. If waterfront, can swim/fish right behind site. Office staff very friendly and knowledgable about surrounding Keys. Treated like a native (from fla.,but not a local) at the bar. Everyone was really friendly and the food was excellent. Should have stayed a week to catch weekend BBQ. Will definitely return. Pet walk, way out front kept me from giving a 9.
This is the only park we have looked forward to on our many summer excursions. Two of the friendliest owners you will find. It is very dog friendly and always clean. We joked with them about not wanting to give them a review because (not unlike a favorite fishing hole) we didn't want to share this wonderful find. This park is more catered to adults who like peace and quiet. Every time we visit, there seems to be improvements. As long as these terrific owners are involved this will be a welcomed once a year stop. Close to Helen, Ga. and Anna Ruby Falls. Truly a gem if you are seeking solitude. (Don't forget dog treats for Clancey and Bernard, the true owners of the park).
Very nice, excellent Wifi, owners very helpful and friendly. Only downside is some motorcoaches had a tight squeeze trying to leave. Quiet mostly w/ only a little road noise.Perfect CG for adults w/ only a minimal amount for kids to do. Perfect if you like peace and quiet. We would stay here again.
Everthing about this park lived up to website. We stayed mid-week so did not see any noisy partys. Very peaceful and staff very nice and efficient. Weather was awful but, no drainage issues. You can pick up many digital channels w/o cable. Sites are very large with room for two vehicles-no problem. This looks like a fun family park with pools, gamerooms, general store with icecream bar on weekends. We would definitely stay here again.
This is not for those who enjoy peace and quiet.Jets roared overhead from 7:15 am till 10 pm. If you want wi-fi it will cost you $3-4.95 a day,$15 a week. We stayed 3 nights. Look out for little surcharges. We ask for cable and they informed us we could upgrade to super site for an additional $21 a night. Gallon of water went for $2.99 a gal. in camp store (just an example). Super sites looked like you're camping in your driveway. Would have been more enjoyable at home for a lot less. No need for an alarm as you cannot sleep in with jet noise (Deafening). Close to beach with lots on kid things to do. They do not enforce quiet time.We will not be camping here again.
Lake aire is a nice campground. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is a no frills park.Just a pool and bath house with a lake for catch & release fishing. This is about 20 mins. from downtown, but not a bad drive. We arrived after storms had hit and areas were flooded. One motorcoach had to be pulled from the mud. We would stay here again as the price was good for what you get.We would avoid if strong storms are expected in the area.
