Mediocre to poor campground. Showers needed tokens - the check-in ranger didn't not share this info. Electrical and water hookups are at the rear of the campsite and not convenient. The one redeeming feature of this stay was dining at the One Eyed Crab - ask for the halibut and fries (equal to the halibut meals I loved in Alaska!) I'd stay at American Sunset if I return to this sad little town.
There are clean facilities and friendly owner. Her family helps run the park, and they are nice, too. It is a safe park. Even though it is off the beaten path, it is easy and quick to get into Port Angeles. It provides good access to the Olympic National Park as well as to Neah Bay. We stayed for four nights. On one evening our daughter joined us and brought her tent along - only cost $2 more per night. It is not a show stopper. If we return to the area - we'll stay here again.
