Our 2nd stay at this park. We were through here in March but it was so windy we left after one night. This time we stayed for two nights and ended up extending for two additional nights and then three more nights on the way home. What a great park! We used it as a base camp to visit San Antonio and Frederickburg. We checked other parks in Kerrville and San Antonio but were not tempted to move. Plenty of room and very well maintained. Look forward to visiting again!
1st time here and loved it! Great location and not difficult to find. Only two restrooms in the "Club" house but that was OK. Not many people here when we were here but everyone was friendly. We will definitely visit here again!
I would rate this CG as "OK" for an overnight stop. Plenty of room for our 40' MH plus towed. Good internet and sewer/water connections. It was busy with commercial vehicles coming and going down the park's main road. One shower in the Men's didn't have hot water but the other was OK...maybe the valve?
We liked this CG and would stay again. Clean, well managed and well maintained but be careful of the large pothole where the access road meets the roads to the sites. Our site #28 had plenty of room for our 40" MH + towed. The satellite worked at this site as well.
Liked this campground except for the sandy soil but that is to be expected in this part of the country. Sites are a little tight and we were not warned of the logging operation that was going on next door! Very noisy very early! We did not spend much time in camp as we used as a base camp to visit Savannah and Jekyll Island.
We have stayed here several times over the past few years and have always liked it. Still do, but have noticed several cost cutting measures (no free breakfast or newspaper anymore, Wi-Fi still not working) but still a very nice place to stay.
We stayed four nights in the Premium sites (800 Loop) Liked the site very much..plenty of room and not too close to the neighbors. Loop road too narrow and had to be very careful coming and going, some folks had more than the one vehicle allowed at each site so this added to the congestion. This was our last trip to Ft. Wilderness, so this was a good swan song.
Would stay here again. Liked the trees and ease of getting into and out of the park. One of the showers in the men room was out of order and that just left one to use. Near the interstate but I like highway noise and train whistles. Office folks were nice and helpful.
We liked this park. Yes there are a lot of rules, but they are needed to keep it nice. That said, I've never stayed in a park where I was not allowed to clean the bugs off my windshield! Big, juicy Florida bugs: yuk! In any case, we (including the bugs still on the windshield) would stay here again.
