Wonderful park, with the cleanest bathrooms we have ever seen.

The visit was our third to this campground. I knew from experience that the campsites are tight. When making the reservation, I requested a site set at an angle and they booked one for us. If you are longer then 25 feet total, you will be happier with a pull through or angled site. The bathroom are cleaned in the morning and dirty by the afternoon. This is a very busy campground on the week-end so the bathroom should be checked more often. The staff was very helpful when I asked them to pick up a trash bag a raccoon decided to eat during the night. It is not a perfect campground, but we continue to return for the activities the Island provides.

Great park to sit and do nothing. Our kids were able to fish and bike while we kept an eye on them. Easy access to hiking trails also. Our site was clean, maintained, and tree covered. Our travel trailer is 35 feet, so our size kept us out of many of the sites. We were able to secure a pull through site the second time through the park. When choosing a site, you may want to arrive early and mid-week if you are over sized and prefer a lot of choices.

Great park that has recently completed some grounds keeping (fresh mulch) on most of the sites. We were unable to have a campfire because the fire ring was right outside our door. We were also happy our neighbors did not have a campfire because their fire ring was under our slide out. Sites are long but very close to each other. Bathrooms may have been renovated lately they looked brand new and very clean. Overall, a great campground with very friendly hosts.

One of the nicest KOA's we have camped in. We were escorted to our site. I believe all overnight campers are given pull through sites. Pool was older but well maintained. Game room and lobby were also well maintained. Pleasant staff and store to visit also. They charge two dollars extra per dog per night. For your extra dollars you get a pet playground (my dogs were not impressed) and a dog walk. Easy access from the highway and a quite place to sleep for the night. I would give it a 10 but as with most KOA's, the nightly rate is a bit much.

We were pleasantly surprised when we found this campground. This state park has ample tall shade trees for each site. Most sites also had concrete pads (newer sites in the park). Larger rigs will have problems here because of the site set up. We have a 32 foot travel trailer and had to move slowly. Overall, a very nice find in the middle of nowhere.

The trees offer little to no shade. Keep this in mind if you camp during the summer. We camped here on Memorial weekend and because of the high demand for electricity, a major electrical box had to be replaced in the campground. Our loop had no electricity for two hours while temperatures in the area touched 113. If you camp here during mild weather you will enjoy the larger than normal sites and easy access to the lake.

This campground is located off the highway but the horses in the pasture give you the feeling your in the country. Very quite and close to everything in the Black Hills. The campground has a store but it is not well stocked. There is a store around the corner if you need it. The staff is very friendly and they also helped us out with some propane (after hours) when we needed it. On a side note, the people in this area are outgoing and friendly. It is so nice to visit an area that appreciates your tourist dollars.

Very clean and well kept campground. Very easy access off the expressway. Huge dog run for the four legged family members.

The park allows easy access to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and this is why we stayed here. If the park was not next to the National park we would have passed it by. We found the park to be very dry and dusty so we did not spend anytime outside. The roads are all dirt and the sites are also dirt...no grass. This area of the country is dry and so the park would benefit from some gravel. The staff was very nice and also told us we could swim in the hotel pool down the street that is owned by the same owners. Overall, easy place to stay but be prepared to hide from the dust.

Very clean and well managed. Our dogs loved the dog run. We spent most of our time in Glacier Park and felt very comfortable leaving our camper for long periods of time. We would choose to camp here again when in the area.

We have camped in a lot of campgrounds, and believe me this is a 10+. Every detail is considered. The bath houses and laundry rooms are spotless. The campground is well managed and well maintained. I honestly could not find anything at all wrong with this campground. Perfect!

Very friendly staff. Camp sites are compacted dirt (all natural). This made for a messy set up because a rain storm beat us to the campsite. When the site dried out it was a more pleasant visit. Overall, easy access to the laundry and pay showers if you need them. We were pleased with the easy access to wildlife and the view of the Grand Tetons.

My only complaint is the exit is very busy. We had to wait a while to turn left off the expressway. The campground is located close to the expressway, but we never heard any traffic noise. Easy place to stay for the night.

Location, location, location. This park is right in the middle of everything there is to see in Colorado Springs. You do not get any bells and whistles for the price, but we stayed busy sight-seeing, so the kids did not mind. You get more elbow room here compared to the other camp grounds in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
