This is a lovely setting for an RV park with tons of grass, two ponds, and huge trees. Unfortunately, the planning wasn't good and we found water on one side of our site and electricity on the other. The lack of sewer also makes it difficult. We did check out the laundry room and found it was dirty and the machines were old. The trees make getting a satellite signal impossible and some people had phone problems. We were able to use the lap tops with Verizon broadband and our phones worked as well. The famcamp was convenient for us while visiting family and we will use it again.
We stayed in the new section which does have pull through spaces. Nice campground. Older section has plenty of grass and space between the sites. New section doesn't have huge trees but having a pull-thru makes up for it. I should mention that we were there for the blizzard. It was quite an experience and my husband dug us out so we could go on our way. We also were there during the shut-down so the base didn't have normal services. But all-in-all I would recommend Ellsworth and we'll be back again w/o the snow!
This campground has been improving every single year. Beginning as a very small RV park and trailer park, it is now a lovely RV Park. The new area is well spaced, has asphalt pads and paged roads. It is very conveniently located and the managers are wonderful. I am happy to recommend this park as the best choice in Sioux Falls. When they add their dog park, I'll be happy to make them a "10."
This is our second trip here. This is a lovely campground. Lots of trees. A very nice nature trail and lovely deer who roam the grounds as well as huge wild turkey. Next time we will stay longer. Buffalo is a friendly western town and there are so many great little trips to take as well as the Occidental Hotel Bluegrass and the best steak house any where. Delighted to recommend this well cared for park with friendly managers and owners.
Older park with lots of shade trees. All gravel. Friendly owner onsite. Would stay there again. Thermopolis is a small Wyoming town that has a wonderful hot springs that is FREE! Beautiful part of the state.
Great big gravel parking lot. They escort you to your site - otherwise without lines you would never figure it out. Ok for 1 night. They have greatly improved their dog park. It's larger and has grass! We enjoyed the dog park, since everything else was gravel and dirt.
Friendliest RV park that you will ever find. Lots of grass and tons of space between sites. No need to check in at the office because the owner comes to you with a warm welcome. There's fishing within walking distance. And for those who are looking for a Sunday Service, this park has it's very own non-denominational Chapel with services every Sunday. Hope to return and spend more time.
Very friendly park. Lots of green grass, and deer wander through the park. The lake is just across the highway. There is a swimming beach and places to sit and enjoy the sunset. We had good Verizon voice and broadband data service. Satellite TV was hampered by trees but we got some TV on the antenna. Very scenic area with many short drives in the area. Would love to come again.
Very clean. Lots of grass. Sites are all on concrete and are rather close together. Lots of help getting parked. The park is very busy and you will need reservations. Leavenworth is a precious little Bavarian Town - reminds me of Branson. Lots of traffic but worth the crowds. This is the nicest RV park in the area.
Lovely trail circles the park and the Elwha Dam Trail begins right next to the park. This is a busy place so reservations are really important. It's located very conveniently for many treks to the Rain Forest, Beaches, and Olympic Forest. It's a very nice park with friendly owners. It's an older park with nice big trees and plenty of grass. We enjoyed our stay and are happy to recommend it to others.
Very friendly owners. Double-wide sites. Some sites on grass and some on gravel. There are trailers near by, but they are not part of the RV Park and are not owned by the RV Park. The park has planted shrubs and other landscape to block the view of the trailers. The park is conveniently located. It is in a quiet neighborhood and we would be happy to stay here again.
Nice big sites. Right on the beach. Quite clean with resort workers always on site. We could tell that they go to great lengths to make this a clean and safe park. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. If I could I would return here and certainly recommend it to others. We were concerned after reading about stray dogs since we have a puppy. There were NO stray dogs. There were quite a few well behaved dogs at the beach and our puppy was not one of them! Great place to visit.
Short drive to the beach. Quaint combination of vintage lodge, cottages, trailers, and RV park. If you love vintage trailers, you will appreciate the assortment. Interesting old resort town with lots of lovely homes and right next to Long Beach. Grass sites. Not too reliable electricity for big rig. Good we have surge protector. Very casual type of place. We spent 4 days here. Enjoyed driving 4wheel on the beach and letting dog run on beach.
If you are expecting organized activities you won't like it here. But if you appreciate being on a friendly little post with the nicest gate people you'll ever find, then stay here. Accessible beach is nearby and you can drive on it with your 4wheel drive. Sure it's kid friendly. They can run and yell and ride their bikes. Our Puppy liked it, too. Lots of places to walk him on the leash. There are the Roosevelt Elk who seem to know the shooting range schedule. If you drive slowly near the small rivers and ponds you will see geese, ducks, and some very lazy beavers. This beats an organized wiener roast to smithereens.
Lots of grass to exercise our dog. Nice nature walk too. This is a family owned park with owners onsite. It is much improved over 5 years ago. Not so many permanent people in rundown RVs. They seem to have lots of family activities. A good place for families. Nice space between slots and well maintained gravel roads. I would stay here again.
What a lovely campground. Friendly camp hosts and ranger. Beautiful view of Mt. Washington and 3 Sisters. Short drive to the reservoir where there is boating and beaches. We loved the huge play area for dogs; gated and with grass; big enough to throw a ball. This is a clean campground with activities for kids. Wi-fi is available for a fee. Phones don't work so well here, and we were not able to use the satellite for TV. But we loved it here and would love to return.
This is a trailer park with no amenities. We knew when we saw all the permanent mail boxes we were not in an RV park regardless of the name. Older trailers - some have hand-built additions. We back up to a busy highway that is noisy. Tiny strip of grass between us and neighbor. No room for a lawn chair. Orange cones must be used to protect our car and front of coach. Not even room for our awning. The "perms" appear to have nicer lots and room for two cars/trucks. They are very protective of their "yards." The pet area is gravel overgrown with weeds. We didn't want to encounter a snake so didn't use it. They will know we made this evaluation as we seem to be the ONLY actual RV in the park.
This is a very old park with tall trees. The spaces are close. We were able to find an end of the row site that was good. They have a nice pool. There is a wonderful dog park that is about 1/2 mile from the park that you can walk to along the irrigation canal. The drawbacks are that this is in a high crime area. I do not think the park is that secure. We saw bums living along the canal behind the park. Saw them using dope. The pool is supposed to be open only to guests but some of the guests were so offensive that we felt they were probably street people. We also experienced theft of property at the pool. When we complained we were told that they had problems with theft there.
Lovely little campground. Friendly managers who work hard to keep this campground clean and attractive. This part of Wyoming is on rationed water so everything is dry. This KOA was a great place to stop and spend a quiet night before continuing on. I am happy to give it high marks.
This is our second time here. This is a lovely area and we were surprised to find that the camp has 50 watt and covered picnic patios. Very friend hosts. Great place for water lovers. There are many interesting day trips around and people are super friendly!
Very nice park. We just spent one night. Nice exercise area for the dog. Very friendly owner. I loved the wild geese that were there. It would be a good place to stay if you were spending time in Wichita Falls.
We liked this campground so much that we returned. It is very grassy and is right next to the bay. You can enjoy a lovely sunset from your site. The owner is very friendly, and the town is also great. You won't find much English spoken, but the people are very nice, and the lobster and crab are wonderful. The campground does not have very good wi-fi but there is a Tim Horton in town that has great coffee and wi-fi. The campground has well spaced spots.
We were delighted to return here. This is a friendly campground with activities for kids. Big rec hall with WiFi hotspot. Our Direct TV worked there. But phones and WiFi in the RV were not too strong. We love this campground and the folks who run it. Don't miss the Céilidh Kaylee dance at Bracken Beach. Happy to recommend this campground.
This is our second stay here and we were delighted to return. They are right on a wonderful beach. There's even a "dog beach" on one side. The water is shallow and quite warm. This park has many little trailers that are occupied for the summer. But the park is clean, quiet, has good Wi-Fi and we used our Direct satellite. Great ice cream at the office but you don't want more than one scoop.
Wonderful place to visit. Campground is right on the bay. They have a great restaurant and activities. WiFi is not good and phones are serviced by Canada. But this is a very nice little town with friendly people.
Park has very beautiful, tall trees. Clean park with large pool and rec. hall. Planned activities too. There are many park trailers that are very well maintained and are obviously weekend and vacation get aways. The people who have them, keep them up, adding landscaping. This is a friendly park whether you are here a short stay or for the summer. It's well managed and has a lovely pond, lake access and a huge pool.
While this is a very clean and well spaced campground, they present you with a list of rules that are very off-putting. They say "my way or the highway." When people offer this type of attitude I stay clear. The rules were reasonable and certainly ones that I would have followed but the "in your face" way of stating them was so offensive that I would not stay there again.
This was a fabulous find! This is a county facility and it's very well maintained. The staff are so friendly and what a fine place to spend a lengthy stay. We'll return. Love the way they have organized this into little pods so you are surrounded by trees and grass. Highly recommend this park!
Dirty and the sites are not well laid out. Many, many full time residents. Trashy looking. We were sticking out into the roadway. They could not accommodate the size of our 40 foot rig. We paid for 5 days then found another place. They would not refund our money.
Lovely Park! Friendly owners, well spaced slots, great Wi-Fi and TV. Now that the bridge is back open (Oct. 24th) this is just a great place to stop. Nebraska City is a special place to visit. We were lucky to still see the great fall colors. This is where Arbor Day originated. Wonderful orchards where you can pick apples or buy. Great Pendleton discount store down town. 11 Museums in this small town. Definitely a place to visit.
This is our home when we are in Sioux Falls. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. The hosts are so friendly and work so hard to make this a great place to stay. We love seeing the progress they are making at converting this from a trailer park to a classy RV Resort! They are making it happen. This park is convenient to everything, and the price is right. Easy access as it's right off the freeway. You should ask to stay on the tree side (it's like a park) and make reservations -- always.
We only stayed one night but were surprised at what a very nice camp ground it is. Plenty of grass and wide spaces between. Nice water park that was closed for the season. But would be great for family. You cannot see the campground from the road so we were really surprised once we got inside. I would be happy to return for a longer stay.
Beautiful RV Park. This is an older park with lots of grass and tall trees. The sites have plenty of space between. Wild Turkeys and Deer wander around the park. Good Wi-Fi and Cable. Friendly hosts. We saw several other RV parks as we drove around but this one is the nicest by far. Buffalo is a friendly town to visit and there are great day trips. We will return next year and we will definitely stay at this park.
Great Hospitality. Very clean - right on the Yellowstone River. We are planning on returning next year and staying longer than we did this year. Probably a month. If you love fishing and being surrounded by mountains this is a great place to visit. Highly recommend. We payed a weekly rate so the nightly rate may not be quite right.
Big Gravel lot with close parking. Lots of traffic from long term residents and many drive way too fast for inside an RV park. Signs everywhere telling you to keep pets off the grass. they have a gravel strip at the edge of the park that is dirty with trash and lots of weeds that is designated as their pet area. All others would be a better choice.
This is a wonderful place. It's much more than just another RV Park. You stay on a huge working ranch and are invited to drive around it. They have nature trails and it is a game preserve. We saw Antelope, Deer, Geese and lots of chip monks. We also got to watch a real round-up. With all that we still found time to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountains. And the Wi-Fi and Cell Phone work fine. Local TV is available but we were under a tree so didn't get the satellite going.
Wonderful park right on the ocean. You can hear the surf and walk right to the beach. Great sites that are large and concrete. The sites are situated to give you a view of the ocean -- hence no pull through sites. Very nice club house that is huge with exercise equipment, pool table and big screen TV. Wi-Fi and TV works well. Phone does not but park offers "free" long distance calls in the club house! A very special place.
Lots of concrete and the little bit of grass is yellow. This has been one of the greenest years in Oregon so it looks like they are not watering. No dog area in the park. There is an adjacent field that is a city property within 2-3 blocks of the park. Wifi is very, very weak. Only one antenna to service a large park. Verizon is very weak here. This is not a good park for anyone who has internet business.
We have stayed at this facility many times. It is an older park, but well maintained and with lots of grass and big trees. I would have given them a 10 but the construction around the area makes it difficult to manuever. I also had several uncomfortable encounters with a camp host who actually chided me not not attending an LDS Event, after politely telling her we were of another faith. I have not encountered this in SLC in the past 20 years and would suggest KOA stick to doing what it does so well and not evangelize. We'll stay at another park when we return in the fall.
This is a lovely park. Lots of grass and plenty of space between spaces. Each space has a concrete pad, new picnic table, and some landscaping. The view is great too. Friendly, helpful host. This would be a good place to stay for a few days.
All gravel. No trees or grass. No space between. Looks like an RV storage facility. About the pet exercise area: all dirt and weeds. I kept my pets on their leash here and they didn't want to stay either. I can't recommend this park.
Right on the lake. Our first time dry camping and it was great. Opened the windows and let the breeze cool us at night. It was fine. Lots of people here with boats. It's a huge lake. Very quiet and not developed.
This KOA gets an A plus from us. We had a pet emergency and they referred us to an excellent vet and found us another site. We were here 9 days (over the 4th) and they were able to accommodate us in a longer than anticipated stay. This is a lovely park with lots of activities for children. There's even a fenced in dog park. We enjoyed their hospitality and are confident in recommending them to others.
We are so impressed with the improvements that are ongoing in this park. They have lovely big trees and lots of grass in one section. It looks like a park. The older part is not as green but it is still very good. The Campground is just off HWY 29 which makes it very convenient. The hosts are just wonderful. This is our second stay and we are happy to recommend this Campground. Just remember to make reservations as they do fill up most nights.
What an effort these owners are making to have an excellent park. Old Trailers are leaving and being replaced by new RV spots. Huge trees and plenty of space between. Satellite worked, as did cell phone.
OK for small rigs. Pull through sites barely have room for slide outs. Preference to long term residents. There is lots of grass, nice pet areas, and is kept up. But not big rig friendly. You can get in but you may not be able to get out. Would not come back.
