This campground is practically in Colorado State Forest State Park. It is two miles from the North Michigan Reservoir which is a great place to fish and about six miles from the Moose Visitor Center. This is a great Rocky Mtn destination that will get you away from the crowds in the nearby NP. Reviews regarding the trees are accurate. It was sad to see so many of the trees had to be taken out due to pine beetles. It's still a beautiful area and the scenery, wildlife, fishing, and hiking options are great. Host and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Staff at the Moose visitor center were great too. I hope to camp here again someday.
This is the Salinas / Monterey KOA. We stayed here for a quick overnight stop and I'm glad that that was all we had planned. This is a parking lot with hookups. The price seems way too high for this campground, the "pet walk" was overgrown, the bathrooms were not very clean, and Wi-Fi is not included in the cost. I wouldn't camp here again and if in the area again and forced to choose, I would sleep in the nearby SafeWay parking lot and save the $50. On a positive note, the lady in the office was very nice.
This place was a great stop outside of Yosemite NP. I wish we had had more time to spend at the campground, however, we were in Yosemite valley until late the night we stayed and we were back on the road again early the next morning. Bathrooms and showers were clean, the staff were friendly, and the campground seemed like a neat place to hang out with plenty for the kids to do.
Park has friendly staff, clean facilities, a convenient location, and nice pool/playground for the kids. The "dog walk" is incredible with miles of open country right behind the campsite. I took my dog out for a 3 mile run the evening we stayed. I will stay here again if we're ever in the area. It's a great overnight stop if you're heading from the Grand Canyon to the California coast.
