As this is the first review in a long time of this park, let me start by saying the orginal owner has repurchased the park after several years. He takes great pride in this property as it was his grandfathers ranch. The office is in his grandfathers barn, built in 1947, and very nicely redecorated. After check in he met us at the site to help us in and asked if we found everything to our liking. He apologized for the stickers (as others have menitioned) and said he was working on getting rid of them. Our 120 lb goldenpoo/Great Pyrenese did not get any. Everything worked great, no cable but stations from Austin and San Antoino can be recieved. Post Office is in front of park, but we did not hear a thing. We will definitely stay here on our way back north to OKC this sping.
We stayed here on the 3rd and 7th of July. Rate was really free, if you go to the gift store at the Casino and get a players card. There are 2 campgrounds, the original, closer to the casino and where the trucks park, or the new one just to the right of the traffic circle just 1/2 mile or less off the interstate. The shuttles run to the casino from both campgrounds so we stated at the newer one. Both are all concrete, great 50 amp, water and a dump station when you leave. There is a covered pipe that looks like a sewer connection at each site, IT IS NOT, it is a cut off valve for the water. The new campground is across the street from the casino convince store and fuel station. Decent price on diesel, and beer. Spots are level left to right, but some are uphill front slopping to rear. Other than that, a nice clean safe, (they have a security patrol) a cheap overnight. Also the food was pretty good in the casino. We always stay here going North East from OKC.
This is a very nice park, and all sites have the Texas sun on the drivers side. Everything worked as it should, easy and friendly check in, with a veterans discount. It is right on 281, so there is no need to wander off the path to find the park. Gravel roads and sites, but plenty wide and easy access for a 43ft. towing. Some sites appear to have cable, but we got 20+ stations from the antenna. There were a few work campers in park, but everything was nice and neat. This park is an easy drive from our home in OKC and, 4 hours to Bulverede TX, and then on to the valley for the winter and return. We will definitely return next fall on the way to Mercedes.
We stayed 9 days, before and after Labor Day. The staff was very friendly, park was clean, wifi worked well, great paved sites with tall mature trees. Breakfasts were excellent, and the owner/cook/office person asks us what we wanted the next morning so she could buy in advance. A limited menu but excellent breakfast. Group campfire at night, nice way to meet fellow campers and find out things to do the next day. We were traveling with another couple so the owner put us in a double site where our doors faced each other. Room for our 42 ft, jeep and friends class C. It was a very relaxing, comfortable park, we would not stay anywhere else if in the area.
Nice RV park for overnight. Close to Highway 83, but no noise or traffic. A little tight for a 42 footer pulling a Jeep. Owner was very nice. Everything worked as advertised. Excellent steak house (Pepper Mill) a short walk away, (my 87 year old mother did the walk in 102 degree temps). Movie theater in front of park. I would stay here again.
Not a meadow but a gravel place to park. But that is not all bad for an overnight stay. Just a 1/2 mile north of I-80 on US 183. There is a large truck stop at the intersection. Everything worked (water, power, sewer)easy in and out, quiet, would certainly stay here if passing through. Address on web site is for down town office and if not careful you will drive pass the RV park.
As others have said, close to I-70 but no road noise. Was easy in and out, manager gives direction to your site as roads in park were a little confusing. Power, water and sewer worked as they should. Gravel sites a little narrow, we were able to level without any trouble. Nice over night stay.
We stayed two nights, had only planned for an overnight stop, staff was very friendly and helpful, led us to our large level spot with a golf card and offered to help us set up. Well maintained grounds, for warmer months large pool with swim up bar, well equipped weight room, very good Cajun restaurant outside park. Easy fuel stop at Interstate exit 20 which is only 1/2 mile from park. Definitely would stay here again.
Very easy overnight stop, not a block off our route. Had a pull through site. Great view of ocean, friendly staff. If going east from here towards Galveston Island purchase your fuel across from the RV park. We did not see any RV fuel stops for 45 miles.
This a very nice park. Very clean RV park, nice owners. Gravel spots that are fairly level and a easy hook up for a 36 foot pusher with a Jeep in tow. 5 hour drive from Golden Colorado at below the speed limit. Nice wide streets to the RV park, 2 blocks off the highway. Would certainly stay here again.
Excellent park, which is close to town. An easy walk or bicycle ride to the historic area. Three blocks to great food at Restless Spirits. The owner of the park went out of his way to make us happy. Had a very good time here and would definitely stay here again.
