We stayed here three nights. Yes the park is hilly and has tight tolerances for navigating but we made it to our site with out unhooking the tow car. Plenty of shade, dirt sites. Nice pool with a slide the kids enjoyed and a large playground. The Wi-Fi- did not work at all during our entire stay, and the cell service (AT&T) and 4G data was very sporadic at best. They seemed to have many long term residents placed haphazardly in front section of the park and on either side of the playground, not sure why they set up the park like that instead of giving them their own section in the back? Our 30 amp electric hook-up was wired with reverse polarity, the sites next to us were fine so it was just our pedestal. We had unpacked everything prior to discovering the problem so we just used our Onan for the weekend. In a pinch we would stay here again.
We stayed here three nights while visiting Olympic N.P. It was a good location for exploring the west part of the park. Sites were level, grass, no shade, hookups new, Wi-Fi worked great and we were located in the back of the park. Very simple park, basically one rectangle with sites bisecting it. The lady running the park was very helpful. Only one drawback, located in the back two-thirds of the park was a line of extremely run down mobile homes, junk cars, broken down RV's etc (you get the picture). We almost checked out because of not feeling safe leaving our RV parked unattended while we were gone, or letting our two girls play outside. This is why it is rated a 5. A simple fence between that property and the park would have changed my ranking from a 5 to a 8 easily. Sadly we will not stay here again.
Where to begin. I could throw a baseball onto highway 101 from our site, constant noise. The lone basketball pole/volleyball net is in the middle of a field with no court. Weeds overgrown everywhere with two "Chads Plumbing Repair Vans" parked among them. Appeared to have long term residents with the traditional 30' rope tied to a tree from which laundry was hung. Positives: strong Wi-Fi, central location for exploring Olympic NP, and great view of surrounding mountains from our site. This was the worst KOA we have stayed at. Obviously we would not stay here again or recommend this KOA.
What a nice surprise. I recommend this park to anyone visiting Mt.Saint Helen's. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Sites were level and not right on top of each other. All amenities were new or like new. Park is well thought out, surrounded by tributaries of a lake and expanses of green grass, with large pine trees for shade. I easily navigated my RV with tow vehicle attached through the park. Three reasons it was not a "10". First, the Wi-Fi internet was very slow. Second, no swimming pool. Third the cable TV left something to be desired. However at $31 a night, this place was worth every penny. We would definitely stay here again.
