Plenty of coordinated activities abound here. As well, there are many other amenities such as pools, miniature golf, boats, etc. For the money, unless you utilize these activities, the campground is expensive. There was no cable TV offering in our section. The sites were pretty close together as well. It is a very large campground with lots of people coming and going all of the time. There were lots of rules but we never saw them enforced. We didn't think that the service/friendliness level was too high on the part of the staff. Example, upon renting bikes for the day, we found that they were broken. A replacement was not available at that time so we decided to cancel and get our money back. Most places would apologize for the inconvenience. They didn't really care nor apologize. For the money, we expect friendly service to be a part of the offering.
We camped overnight after a long day coming over from Cheyenne, WY. Being tired and ready for comfortable accommodations, we found it here. Friendly staff, big pull through sites, plenty of space in between sites. For an overnight or weekend stay, this place was excellent. We would definitely stop again if in the area.
We camped here for 2 nights and overall, it was a good stop over point for a long trip. It was quiet for the most part and we rested well. Two problems we had were with the WIFI and pool. The WIFI did not work despite claims by the owner that it did. I had to go into town at the Applebee's where I connected with no problem. The pool was closed at 3 pm for some treatment issues. It was closed for the rest of the day and evening. This did not go over well with my 9 year old daughter nor her mother on this 95 degree day. This campground was good overall but fell short in two key areas for us, making the experience marginal.
The previous reviews this resort received prompted us to give this place a try. We're so glad we did. This park is in a class of it's own. We stayed in one of the "Fun Sites", off of the lake - in the trees. The design is exceptional - plenty of room per site, sites on the lake and sites in the trees. Pull through sites dominate. Clean at every turn. The bathrooms, with your own personal room, (dressing, toilet, shower, sink) are unlike any other that I have seen. The spacious lake with asphalt path all around was especially nice. My daughter even caught her first fish in it! We loved the golf cart trips around the lake and early morning "fishing trips" in the cart to find the "big one". The only improvement they could make would be to heat the very nice pool for the fringe months, although the hot tub was very nice and large. It just seems that there is a real commitment to the total RV experience at this place. We felt that the location was optimal and offered a great launching point for the Grand Strand. While it was out in the quiet countryside, we never felt it a chore to drive anywhere. We will definitely camp here again when in the area.
Very nice campground...we used their pull-through spot for one night. This is a great stop-over campground for traveling up to points north. In and out was very easy. Their restrooms were some of the cleanest that I've ever seen...anywhere. We will use this campground again when we travel north.
Really nice spot. We stayed here for 5 nights and had site T-36. It was private and wooded. Nice, level gravel spot. Very well run and nice people. We got to the campground late and there was only 1 spot remaining to accommodate my 34' rig. A great one, nonetheless. We will camp here again.
Camped overnight while coming through the area. Very nice feel and facilities. New ownership within the last 3 years has added many improvements according to the very fiendly seasonals present. This campground has a "summer camp" feel to it as it was a Boy Scouts Camp for many years (est. 1923). Friendly and helpful staff along with a beautiful setting. We will camp here again if in the area.
