Amazing Park! So very scenic tucked into the mountain and pines. We loved our week stay here as location and views were perfect! Lovely wood decks at most sites, nice gravel sites which the owners maintain constantly. Paved roads were in excellent condition. Sites include septic, water, electricity which were in perfect working condition. The cable TV worked great at no additional charge with over 60 channels. Free Wi-Fi worked great and was very much appreciated. Bathrooms were clean and had a combination lock for tenants use only as did the laundry facility. The owners are hands on, always available, friendly, and most helpful. When park has some vacant sites, owners actually plan out and space tenants so empty sites are between you. That is so appreciated! We visited other RV parks to compare and know first hand that this is the best RV park in the area. All campers were friendly, respectful to others, and to park rules, simply a perfect week. WE will be back often!
We love this campground. Sites were paved and level. Nice amount of tree shaded sites available. Electric and water worked great. Picnic tables were under covering. Bathroom toilets were clean but floors were a wreck. Great roads to ride bikes/jog/walk. We couldn't find the nature trail near the entrance and the employee didn't know of it even though it was on map. Dump area allowed for two-at-a-time dumping which was handy. Toad fit fine behind motor home on dump exit hairpin turn. Check in was only 20 seconds as we did the online pre-registration so no need to get out of drivers seat. Employees were friendly and fast. We will go there again.
Level campsites on tar and gravel with grassy areas in front/behind each hilltop (premium) site. These premium sites overlook the airfield and Hangar Hotel. Staff was very courteous. All hookups/sewer/cable/electric worked very well. Internet had an additional charge but staff informed us that it didn't work very well and facility is looking to improve that service very soon. Lovely nature trail with 2 Geocaches in park. Beautiful bird feeding station and Butterfly feeding garden. Trash service was often and grounds were completely free of litter. Pet friendly staff gives pets a "welcome" dog biscuit. Park was very quiet with minimal campers. Staff did space people apart when so few campers are staying overnight, which is very appreciated. We viewed other campgrounds while in the area and were very pleased with choosing this one as it is the prettiest, quietest, and least expensive. Very convenient to site seeing with our Toad. Local law enforcement was visible driving through park several times a day. We will definitely stay here again very soon. I recommend visiting April or May for maximum wildflower viewing.
Rude, lazy, and unhelpful staff. Unlevel pull through sites. Even when park has 5% occupancy, the staff assigned the campsite right next to others. Grounds are covered in cactus and prickly plants so pets can only walk on asphalt road. Dangerous low weight limit bridge from I-20 south to park on west side of the lake. I recommend accessing park from east side of the lake even though staff gave west side directions, if you must stay here. Wi-Fi never worked. No ice available to purchase from ice machine at the office.
Like previous reviews from others, this park is a dusty mess. You are parking on crushed/powdered gravel. Sites are very tight. We spent zero time outside due to dust from cars driving through the park. I recommend boondocking at Walmart for free. At least when you walk out of your motorhome you don't get grit in your teeth. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff and park hosts. Lovely mountain backdrop. Spacious and level camp sites. Bats flying out of picnic shed roofs at sunset. Desert and barren ground. Next trip I will stay at Fort Davis State Park as it is more scenic and has plenty of hiking trails.
We enjoyed the scenery. It is very close to the waterfront, golf course, geocaches, ball fields. Nice pine trees. The staff member we dealt with upon arrival was abrupt and rude. She was the only negative aspect of our trip. Sites were fairly flat. No sewer on individual sites but there is a dump station that is easily accessible. Also, the laundry is in close proximity to office with parking. Park restroom building looked new and most campers were taking daily showers there in lieu of using their own shower. Internet Wi-Fi was free and worked wonderfully. Local TV stations were received clearly with digital antenna. Grounds were clean and quiet all day and night. Most 50 amp sites are shaded. Your auto is parked across street from your site and has shade. Plenty of room to back in to site. Grounds are gated at night. Plenty of nearby shopping and eateries across freeway.
Love this location across the street from Big Rock Park. You can access the jogging/walking trail from Big Rock Park which goes over the river for a scenic outing. Staff was very friendly. Swimming pool is huge. Evenings were very quiet on the grounds. Grounds were clean. Parking was level with plenty of room for our auto.
