This is a quiet, clean, well-maintained older campground in the town of West Yellowstone. Everything is within walking distance in town and it is a great base camp for visiting Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Southeast Idaho. While the campsites are not the largest or facilities not the newest, anything the owner can do to make your stay better he will try. Plenty of local information provided by the owner and plenty of recommendations (eat where the locals eat). Thanks for making us feel "at home."
This park has beautiful views of the Lake and the Mountains. The facilities are a bit worn and sewer connection hoses may take some work to get to flow up the hill, but this is location, location. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area.
This was a quiet park and the staff was very hospitable. Although we were here during severe thunderstorms and there was some standing water, the staff was out immediately filling holes with new gravel. The staff was also helpful with local information and made us feel welcome. The park is set up so campers can select only the services they need so you can save some money if you intend to spend all day seeing the sites and only come back to sleep. We didn't need Cable TV so we could save a few dollars.
The facilities at this park are nice, sites are paved and has some grass area but it would be a hard to describe them as campsites. Some sites are actually lined off asphalt parking spots which curb to a grassy area. If sleeping in a noisy area is a problem for you then you should not stay here. The railroad noise continued well past 10PM and noisy trucks were in and out of the park at 2AM and 3AM. The staff was understanding when we had mechanical problems at checkout time and were not able to leave until after checkout time.
