This is a very good (no make it great) pit stop for snowbirds going south. I understand that they also have many rally activities that use the park. The office staff greet you at your unit. Assist you in parking, and THEN invite you to the office to complete paperwork after you are settled. What a novel idea!!!! We will continue to use this park for our annual snowbird trips to and from Florida. The rate cited reflects a Passport America discount.
Location, Location, Location. The park is within a few miles of The Villages. It is close to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. The office staff and the pavilion were great. The roads and general maintenance were good. The sites were fairly large. There were no pads, no picnic tables, etc. Just grass and sand with the normal pedestal connections. We will stay here again only because of the proximity to The Villages. Our rate reflected a Passport America discount.
This is an excellent location. Unfortunately, the owners are just not involved. The park is operated by work campers. They are outstanding, but do not have the authority to make the necessary changes. The park has a significant number of PERMANENT residents. The sites are very shabby and not neat. The park recently converted to KOA to increase revenue. The need to spend money to improve the entire park. It has gone done hill year after year. Changing to KOA does not solve the basic problem. Roads are rough, sites are rough and very small. The utilities and WIFI are decent and usable. We have stayed in this park for the last time.
This is an outstanding park. There has always been a large wait list for the winter months. 150 new sites are under construction and will be available by Sept. 2013. The park needs to add additional laundry, swimming, and support facilities to continue the 10 rating. Many are concerned about the rates increasing faster than the economy. Great staff, activities, and location in the country, but near restaurants, shopping, etc.
This is a great campground for our I-75 travels to and from Florida. They encourage you to park, connect, and then come into the office for the paperwork. This is a VERY POSITIVE act of kindness when you and your navigator are very tired. We like this park, the staff, and the location very much. We will continue to use this park for our I75 travels. Rate reflects Passport America discount.
This is one of the better KOA parks that we have visited. The owners work hard to provide a positive experience. The Wi-Fi is very slow. The nightly charge is higher than normal camping sites. All other comments are outstanding!!! Beautiful sites and NO MUD.
The park is a LONG distance North of Rt. 22. The sites are very large and still provide privacy. The lawns were mowed and very attractive. The staff was EXCELLENT in processing the registration. Is it the best state park in Ohio? No. It is however, the best in the SE Ohio area. We would use this park again and had a great time.
The park has excellent signs for directions to the park. The roads to the park at first appear to be a disaster, but after traveling the route for the first time, they are really OK. The park swimming pool was being replaced. The staff are VERY HELPFUL. Many contractors were living in the park, but they were very nice people. The park needs some tender loving care. The sites and roads need some attention. The location is very good for visiting Pittsburgh. I would stay here again, but would hope that the management are able to make necessary improvements.
The Price Is Right. This is a very basic overnight facility that is convenient to I-75. The park was very busy with snowbirds returning to the North. It is a nice, one day drive from many Florida locations. They have a community fire pit with free firewood. We have all asked for a cheap overnight location without frills. This is it!!!
The rate is based on a 3 month occupancy. This is one of the finest RV parks in SW Florida. The manager is outstanding and the staff are very helpful. I would highly recommend this park for your winter visit to Florida.
This is a very convenient location on the North side of Knoxville. They are very busy with the Snowbird traffic during the yearly migration. It is NOT a park to spend multiple days. This park has not had been maintained to meet the needs of the new RV travelers. It is adequate for a "one night stand". They have established a price that is high for the quality of the facility.
This is a very handy park for snowbirds from Canada and the Midwest. The lots are OK, but you are very near your neighbor. The cable, electric, and water have never been renovated. This is an older park that really needs improvements. They have a large occupancy rate every night in the fall, winter, and spring so that they little motivation to spend the money. It is still a good spot for a quick night off I-75.
This continues to be an outstanding RV facility. Not advertised in TL or Woodall's by local policy. The park is available for everyone on a first come basis. A previous posting said that the dump station is only for gray water. This is not correct. There are several sites that have gray water drains to allow use of washing machine. In fact, the dump station is perfect. It even slopes correctly.
This is the most unusual campground that we have ever visited. Negatives--It is adjacent to Interstate 71 and there is some traffic noise. The entrance road (in the process of being changed) is wide, but not very good quality. The park is the location of one of the largest Trap and Skeet Shooting facilities in America. During the weekends when they have national tournaments, the place is packed. On other times the facility is outstanding. The swimming pool is INDOORS and has a large sun deck. The rest rooms are the finest that I have ever seen. All buildings, shelter houses, office, and maintenance facilities are OUTSTANDING. Some of the sites are 100 x 300. Each site has a new picnic table, nice gravel pads that are level, and excellent water, electrical, and sewer pedestals. This is the location for rallys, camping clubs, and other special interest camping groups. You will not be disappointed. The location is approximately 20 miles North of Columbus, Ohio. Other than two restaurants and a truck stop (opposite side of the interstate) there is nothing in the area. Even if you are not into archery or shooting, you will enjoy the experts in shooting competitions. This is a high dollar sport with participants that are very eager to share their knowledge. There are bleachers that allow you to watch in comfort.
There are 2 areas of this campground. The high area is near the office and swimming pool. The lower area is next to the Ohio River. The facilities are above average. They make an effort to keep the place looking attractive. The restrooms are also above average. The office coordination is not equal to the level of the park. The office opens late, closes early, and does not have a staff that have been campers. Their computer records are not kept current regarding open sites, etc. It is a great location to watch the river traffic. It is also near the casino activities and the Kentucky Speedway.
The rate is for senior citizens. This park is usually full on the weekend, but has open sites during the week. There are NO reservations. The park is very convenient-about 1 mile East of I75. This park is the greatest bargain in the midwest. They do not advertise or list in any directory. This keeps sites available for local residents and their friends. The rest rooms are large and have ceramic tile walls. Beautiful sites that are extremely large, paved, and close to nature. Shopping and restaurants are only 1 exit South.
This is a very convenient state park located just a few miles North of I-71. The park is very attractive and is in a partially wooded area. The shower, restrooms, and support facilities were excellent. The park has a significant drainage problem during heavy rains. The dumpster was not located in a convenient area and had trash overflowing. This should not happen on a week day. The park personnel were most helpful! WalMart and Kroger are within 1 mile along with various restaurants. It is also near the Kentucky Speedway. We would stay at this park again.
This is an excellent facility with a super view of the river. We use this park to visit friends on our Northern journey. It is one of the finest city campground facilities in the nation. The engineers made a major error when the park was renovated. The sewer locations are high and are not near the pads. Some sites are worse than others, but it is almost impossible to connect without 2 sections of hose. We will definitely use this wonderful park in the future.
This is a very basic park. The Wifi, electricity, water, and sewer were all outstanding. The entrance road and interior roads were acceptable, but not great. The owner was most helpful. This is a good park to stop when traveling on I-10. We would stay here again.
There has been significant improvement in the park. The sites are still very small and the gravel is difficult for those that have physical limitations. The owners are working hard to make this the best KOA in the nation. They are very pleasant on the surface, but the female owner can become aggressive. I would recommend this park for a short short stays in the Wapakoneta/ I 75 area.
We stayed here on an emergency trip home from Florida in March. This is the only park in the area that has wireless Internet. I have very mixed feelings about this park. It needs a LOT of work. They should have been out in the park picking up limbs, working on roads, and repairing the MAJOR water break that they had during the winter. The YOUNG owners were in their unit with no efforts to clean up the mess. They are kind and positive owners with a vision. They do NOT have the experience to make this park a winner. Our first and last stay at this park.
This is an excellent park for senior citizens to visit the Holmes County. The owners are very helpful and the facility is very clean. It is not a park to bring children. There are minimal activities and facilities for entertainment. The location is OUTSTANDING!
This is an outstanding park. The RV section is away from Sauder Village, The Barn Restaurant, and the hotel. You have free access to the sauna and the swimming pool. We always enjoy our experience at this park. They provide a discount to the village if you stay in the park. You also get a discount for senior citizen. This park is only a few miles South of the Ohio Turnpike.
This was a pleasant surprise. The facility has new pavement on the roads and sites. The sewer, water, and electric are also recently renovated. The park is located on the Tennessee River. We were able to watch barges moving on the river. The park also has tent spaces without utilities. A golf course, marina, picnic areas, baseball, and other facilities are in the park. We were very pleased with this park. They do take reservations and are open 365 days. The recent directory does not reflect this correct information. Our rate reflects the "spring special" rate and senior citizen rate. $8.00 for full hookups is a bargain.
We were very pleased with this attractive facility. The area is very quiet, but only a few minutes from the Gulf Beaches. The management were very friendly and offered us a temporary site if they did not have a full hookup site. Fortunately, this was not needed, but greatly appreciated. We would return again.
This is a very convenient park. The management is very friendly and helpful. They are most helpful to assist you in registration, suggestions, etc. The park is very attractive. The sites and not large, but very adequate and meet the needs for a few days. The flowering bushes were at their peak and made for a beautiful facility. Reservations are highly recommended for the busy times of the year. The park is fully booked most weekends. We will return if we are ever in the area again.
This is an outstanding facility. The park has a few permanent units that are being used by local physicians and nurses since there is still a shortage of housing in the area. Everything about the park was great. Picnic tables, sites, showers, roads, signs, utilities, shuttle service, office personnel, and 800 reservations were perfect. The actual camping price is less than quoted due to a rebate for your casino play. We regret that Route. 90 was still closed due to the bridge repairs that will be completed by June, 2007. We highly recommend this wonderful park!!!
Excellent view of the Mississippi river from our living room window. The sites are fairly large with concrete pads and patios. The utilities worked very well. The park is very convenient to Natchez, Miss. The access to the park goes through a few blocks of substandard housing. The roads to the park are adequate for the largest units. The resident managers have many years of rv experience and know how to run the park effectively. This was a very positive experience.
The location and access is very good. The sites are very tight and the owner will not allow you to park tow vehicle on grass. The park is attractive and has good utilities. They have an excellent dog play area with several bench seats for the owners. It is the best park in the area. This is not an outstanding park, but the resident owners really work to maintain an above average facility. We would return again.
This is a very handy park for the traveler on I65. We were greeted by a very friendly attendant as we pulled into the lot. The lots are fairly small, but we could easily locate our 34 ft. fifth wheel into place. The high quality electrical service, water, and sewer were all located conveniently. The park is very attractive and utilizes pea gravel. This prevents tracking during bad weather. Although there are pet signs, I did not consider the park anti dogs. The remind you to clean up after your pet and not allow urine on the bushes. The price is VERY competitive, minimal traffic noise, good entrance and interior roads. The night before we arrived there was a tornado watch. The owners invited all of the guests into their home until the storm past. This speaks volumes about their character and commitment to their clients.
The park is used mostly for people visiting the area for a short time and for those that want 1 or 2 nights before their trip further South or North. This park is an excellent choice. The pride of the owner is evident throughout the facility. The staff are excellent people that really want your visit to be something that is positive. A good choice for motorhomes, trailers, or 5th wheels. You may want to use the cable since the television reception is not great.
This is an outstanding park for the traveler passing through on the Interstate. Your left turn on to the street that goes South toward the park is only about 1 block from I75. The sign is not clearly visible if you are in the right lane. Get in the left lane IMMEDIATELY!! We highly recommend the facilities, staff, and location of this excellent park. It is in your best interest to not select a site in the west portion of the park due to standing water. The sites in the first 4 or 5 rows are fine.
We were greeted by the friendly owner. The facility was currently replacing the front entrance road. (extensive renovation) We were escorted to our pull through site. We were also provided with a daily local paper and excellent assistance on directions for our trip to Delaware Water Gap. The cable tv was not quality although many channels were available. Everyone had the same problem. The sites were acceptable although it is not outstanding. The biggest asset of this park is the excellent location to the 2 interstates. It is the only rv park in the area and they have a captive market. Most of the units were large motorhomes and 5th wheels. Many of the campers were only there for 1 evening. According to our neighbors, they do get a lot of repeat business. You will not go wrong with this park for a "one night stand". It is NOT a long term facility.
This is the nicest state park in Ohio. Full hookups, 50 Amp. service, beautiful area, all sites are paved, new roads, new showers. This park has it all. We only stayed one day on our way home, but say a lot of wildlife including wild turkeys. Senior Citizens get a 50% discount during the week. If you are planning to be at this park during the weekend, you will need reservations!!!
This is a very nice campground in the Burlington area. It is near the interstate, but there is no traffic noise. The lower area is MUCH better than the upper area. The sites are bigger, full hookups, 50 Amp. etc. The office does a very nice job to assist the camper with sites, directions, etc. The roads are outstanding in the park.
The owner is a class act and working hard to improve the excellent location. The roads are very rough, but we were told that they would be improved this fall after they added a few sites. They had about 4 in. of rain in the week before we arrived. The sites were not well drained and very rough. The owner assisted each unit into their site. The restrooms were OUTSTANDING! As another camper mentioned, the setting is one of the most pleasant that we have ever visited. It is also in a convenient location that allows you to visit the Finger Lakes from one location. I would give this site a much higher rating if the roads would have been better. We would return if we are ever in the area again.
This is a wonderful campground with the BEST manager, staff, and owners in Florida. They do everything that is possible to make your stay and pleasant experience. New horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts, additional laundry facilities, and an addition to the large pavilion are just a few of the recent improvements. The concert series that occurs during January, February, and March is OUTSTANDING! The price of $5. 00 per person provides you with a quality of entertainment that is Branson quality. There are also regular dinners, ice cream socials, bingo, pancake breakfasts, etc. The resident directed church service includes an outstanding minister, resident music, and guest musicians. The attendance will often exceed 200. It is very difficult to rent a space during the snowbird season. The problems with some of the other Florida parks, purchase of other parks for condo development places an unusual pressure on this facility for new guests. If you are fortunate enough to get a space, you will never look for another park.
This is an excellent facility that can accommodate any RV. The sites are large with excellent water and electrical service. Many of the sites have a great view of the lake. Many have unique patio with retaining walls that were very expensive to construct. The park covers a large area that requires you to disconnect your vehicle or ride a bicycle over many hills. The park has a long history that is very interesting. The office is a historical home of people who were very active in Georgia politics and history. This park is a fine public campground.
The sites are excellent and the price is good for a one night stop. The staff were pleasant and very well organized. The park is convenient to various food facilities. The hardware store offers many parts for those that need quick repairs. Many of the nightly guests were making their last stop before returning to Canada for the snowbird trip back North. This is a good value campground for those that want a good night rest before returning to I-75. Television reception is not the greatest.
This is an excellent campground with GREAT service. A staff member assists you with your connection to the utilities. The layout of the park is very different since the sites are in 5 rows. It is not difficult to cross to the the adjacent exit road and depart at your convenience. They have many pet birds that are interesting to observe and talk to you! The park is near I-75, but traffic noise is not a problem. This park is very convenient to Gainesville and Un. of Florida activities. The park will also be full for any NHRA events. Reservations are recommended during these activities.
This is an unusual facility. The campground is adjacent to I-75. The $20 fee allows 2 adults to spend the night at the RV Park and visit the village. The village is OUTSTANDING. It is a recreated farm community of the 1890's. A steam sawmill, steam train, the Tift House, and MANY other buildings are at the village. The campground does not have showers, etc. , but it is within walking distance to the village. It is also near many restaurants. The campground has underground utilities and EXCELLENT electrical service. It is not, however your typical facility. We enjoyed the day at the facility and the night at the campground on our return from Florida. They do plan to add cable, picnic tables, etc. to attract additional campers.
This is a fairly well maintained park located in the Lake Erie Island region. The park has many permanent units that are above average in maintenace. The park has activities for all ages of campers. The weekend that we were there they had an evening beach party with DJ, activites, etc. The also have many other activities during the summer. The management does a fairly good job of maintenace and responding to the campers needs. We did notice low voltage during the afternoon. The temperature was in excess of 90 degrees and there were a large number of motorhomes in our area. There are many activites in the area including Cedar Point, Lake Erie Islands, fishing charters, etc. There is EXCELLENT shopping within 2 miles. I would recommend this campground if East Harbor State Park does not have available spaces.
Location, Location, Location. You are in the center of the Amish area. A young Amish lady works in the office and is very helpful. The facilities are designed for self containted units. There are 3 areas of the park. The main area has pea gravel and paved roads. This has many advantages during bad weather. The upper and lower area have grass, gravel pads, and paved roads. This is the only facility in the area that can handle big rigs. You have so many activities in the immediate area. The traffic is a problem toward the end of the week and Saturday. I would utilize that campground again. It is really better than the 7 rating, but does not have any activites for the family. This is a senior citizens park that will meet your needs for a week in the area. It is not a location to bring a small family for a vacation.
The facility is located next to a production saw mill. This facility runs for 16 hrs. a day with heavy noise levels. The permanent units next to the park are very poor quality. Most have a fence with a guard dog in the yard. We arrived before other units starting to arrive. Another camper warned us that this was not a real safe area. When about 10 other units came into the park, we felt more secure. The park is behind an older motel and uses common facilities. The owners are older and have lost some control due to the amount of work required and the age of the facility. Although the sites are pull-thru, they are very difficult to enter. They advertise big rig sites, but this is a big exageration. I will never use this facility again.
