The website does not state how many RV sites are in the park. The pictures show a lovely park, but when we got here it was old and somewhat run down. We had made reservations, but it looks like this park is full of full time residents. We are stuck out by the boat ramp and the site is not level. Lake Fork is a great fishing lake, but we are disappointed in this RV park. They have a decent restaurant, but it has a bar which is okay if you are not parked close to it. The people and the cars kept us awake until around 2 a.m. Now I am tired. We will not be back.
This is a well maintained park and if the lake ever rises it will be pretty again. The fishing is okay, but I wouldn't eat the fish due to selenium found in fish. This is just me, and I know plenty of people that eat the fish from Martin Creek. This park is close to where I live so we do not go here very often. The trees need trimming so that they do not scrape the top of our Fifth Wheel. If you like the woods, you will like Martin Creek.
This park was well maintained and the sites were level, but we could not find the lake. I'm a Texan so I know there is a Caddo Lake, but we never saw it. If was quiet. Very quiet with only two other campers in the park when we were there. Spooky. I don't think this is on our list of campgrounds to see again.
This is a beautiful and well maintained park. We have stayed here numerous times this year and last and will continue to do so. The sites are level and wide. The people are friendly, and the kids do not take over the park. We will be going here for a long time to come.
I know most people love this park, and I'm sure I would have to IF I had been on the lake. We could not get a site on the Lake, and we live in the country so a tree is a tree is a tree. We just did not enjoy ourselves here at all. They put us in a site almost too small (though they said we would fit). We scratched our BRAND NEW Fifth Wheel on some trees that we could not get out of our way. They really need to trim the trees around the sites. We tried to move across the road to an empty site that had a "NOT RESERVED" sign on it, but they refused. No one ever stayed in that site, so after 3 nights we left. The office people seemed so surprised that we left early. We drove 6 hours for this. Lake Catherine and Millwood Lake is so much better.
This is one of the most beautiful parks I have in Arkansas. We stayed in the preferred sites and nearly backed up to the lake. It was gorgeous, and the lake was high. It is well taken care of, and everyone was so friendly. The people there were great. It doesn't have sewer but we intend to go back in the Spring when the crappie are bedding. This is one of the BEST parks we have ever stayed at!
We camped here for several days. I was disappointed that there was not any grass. There are only rocks. Everywhere. My chihuahua was the most disappointed because rocks her her feet. When we called we asked about Wi-fi and were told that they had it. Our daughter takes online college courses and needed the internet. When we arrived there was not Wi-fi. We had to go to the office for an Internet box that my husband had to hook up ONLY after we went to Wal Mart and bought extra cable to hook it up. We were upset about this because this was important to us. If a campsite does NOT have something they should NOT say they have it. Compton Ridge is too far from Branson if you see a lot of shows. I got tired of all the driving up and down those hills, so I didn't go to many. My husband and daughter did enjoy many shows. We never could find a grocery store except for Wal Mart. This was so strange. The people at the office were okay, but when we asked about where we could go because of the tornadoes that were forecasted they didn't seem concerned and said we would be safe. Well, we might have been, but with 60 mph winds, we were not going to take a chance. Overall, the camp was okay if you do not care about having grass, and if you do not care if the people are unfriendly. We will not be going back.
