Quiet. Friendly owners. Campground store has items for sale. Did not get satellite because of shade trees, but cable TV has about 70 channels at no extra charge. Enclosed dog run. We will return again.
Not very many sites with all facilities. I mean combined water/sewer/50amp/wifi-accessible. Otherwise would have given a 9 or 10. This is a beautiful campground that looks like a NICE county park or something. VERY pleasant. Well maintained. Would highly recommend. Will definitely stay here again.
The showers were dirty and had cobwebs. Laundry was dirty and the the washing machine did not work properly(no spin dry). Grounds workers were informed of this and we were told it wasn't their problem. It was necessary to enter the Casino and cross the room to register for camping (no campground office). Casino has wifi but is not strong enough to reach all the way out to the campground. This was pitiful.
Level sites. Owner/manager is pleasant. Nice place to stop over when traveling. Price shown is Passport America, but no problem staying for 10 days at that rate. If not a Passport America member the owner gives you a pamphlet to sign up and get this rate.
We were reluctant to try this park because of the previous review. We are glad we came here anyway. Owner is friendly and apparently has been working VERY hard. Looks like all the spaces have new large concrete pads. Electric connections look new. Sites are large and level.Big-rig w/towing access. Plenty of room. Clean w/no garbage and no homeless and no bums. (we have seen parks like that). The $20 rate is full-hookups w/no discount. Looks like owner has worked hard to clean everything up. We would camp here again. Did not see a sign for park on main road so be careful not to miss it.
Yes, it is still here. Open May 1 to Oct 31. Instead of an RV Park, think of this as a gorgeous park with RV sites. Would have rated higher but it no sewer hookups. Peaceful and nice. Easy to get to. Easy big-rig access.
Beautiful park in the country woods. Quiet and dark at night for getting a good night's sleep. Our satellite did come in although barely; it dropped out sometimes, poor signal-trees in the way. Heard NO TRAIN. Next door to steakhouse. Site was plenty long enough for big rig towing. Site was not level. Although we are traveling full timers I found the interior roads to be very TIGHT for big rig w/towing. Mosquitoes appear to be present day and evening. Septic hookups are sticking up above the ground making it difficult to drain the tanks.Person with golf cart who showed us to the site did so at full throttle, waving us on if we did not follow fast enough (it's not only tight in here but bumpy also).
Note that you will NOT find Bellaire woods. This campground was purchased a few years ago and is now Savannah Oaks RV Resort. The sign at the freeway and entrance to the park reflects this. I have corrected the website address here to reflect the new web address. They have propane here, fenced dog park,VERY FAST and strong signal Wi-Fi. Adequate for big rig and towing. Nice place but nothing fancy.
First RV park I have reviewed that deserves a 10. The pull-through sites are over 60 ft long (we are 60 ft w/towing hooked up and had LOTS of room left). Big rig access is good. Site level. Satellite reception on our dish good; we were here in January, though. Wi-Fi strong and fast for Internet surfing. (Not for large file download though as it speed limits when downloading). Small RV shop on grounds. Office is also: a WELL stocked store; Blimpies franchise; pizza; Exxon gas station. Propane fill station on grounds. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy on/off interstate. Good access to Charlotte (was reason for our stay). Septic hookup placement is good. Dark and quiet at night for good sleeping. Wi-Fi and Cable are free. Will look forward to staying here again when passing through this way.
Unattended. Never saw host. Cash only. No receipt/instructions. Site was grass. No propane. Unattended office means packages probably will not get delivered and no one to ask where to obtain propane/repairs. The good part is that it really is big rig w/towing access. Was dark and fairly quiet. It is VERY inexpensive. Was able to receive our satellite. Easy access just off a major road. Shopping close by. Good for overnight stop. ONE night. Will probably return due to convenient location.
Site was level and sewer was well-placed for hookup. Our pull-through site was more than long enough to easily accommodate big rig and towing. Although cable TV had about 70 stations we were also able to use our satellite. Staff was pleasant. Wi-Fi signal was strong. Boat ramp on grounds to put kayak into water. Grounds were clean with no trash or signs of hurricane damage. Stay was quiet and pleasant. Will stay here again.
Sites were level. We were able to use our satellite. Site long enough for 40ft+towing. Sewer connections nicely placed (not in back and not raised). Wi-fi strong and fast and free. Local pizza delivery available (not RV park pizza). Interior roads very wide. Roads paved with no ruts; more than enough for big rigs. Staff was friendly. Very nice and clean. There were no permanent residents. Propane was available. We will stay here every time we are near.
Very easy access to freeway yet quiet. Did not see construction going on. Dark at night so we could sleep. Nice laundry area. Office staff friendly. Stayed here because of previous reviews and glad we did. Wi-Fi is excellent. Were able to receive on our satellite dish. Level site. Enough room for 40ft+towing.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. Like another reviewer we chose a site behind the pond. Although it is electric and water only at those sites, we prefer them. It is QUIET there and dark at night. The Space is level and more than long enough for 40ft rv and towing. Satellite reception is excellent. The Wifi is free and works well. It is a very enjoyable country setting. We will stay here anytime we are in the area.
Park is clean and quiet. We were parked up the hill because we asked for good satellite reception. We also had the choice of parking amongst some NICE shade trees. Pull through site was more than long enough for towing and level. Interior roads are actually big rig access. Electricity is extra but at $14/night that is expected. Very nice park with VERY nice surroundings. Will stay here every time we pass through. We have seen "worn" or run down parks and this one is not.
Staff was friendly. Site was 70ft long. Plenty for an RV with tow. Site was level and gravel. We were able to get satellite, although the cable TV selection is excellent (72 stations). Wi-Fi was free and FAST. Not only is it right off I-55, but it is only a mile from I-57. Was quiet and peaceful. Will stay here again.
Easy access to freeway although it is QUIET. Beautiful setting.Lots of nice trees and grass with picnic tables, but still has bigrig access adequate for 40ft motorhome towing. Even though they do NOT have cable tv at this time they do have some sites where your rv satellite dish has reception (like ours did).New owners enjoy owning an rv park and act like it. They are friendly and responsive.
We came in after hours, and the night registration instructions said to park under the light pole. This was a powerful arc light that turns everything underneath (like our RV) into daylight. Mud covered gravel was everywhere. We were unable to receive satellite in that location with automatic dish. There was no septic or cable TV in that spot; only 30 amp, too. This place is now a KOA. How did that happen? We will not come back.
Friendly staff. Site was level and more than adequate for 40 ft RV with trailer. Cable tv is included and has a very nice selection. Did not use cable because we were able to get satellite reception easily. WiFi was included and it worked nicely. Campground has an enclosed fenced dog park which is nice. Easy on and off freeway. Gas and grocery store both very nearby. Propane available here for RV (not just bottles). Will stay every time we are in the area.
Pleasant staff in office. Concrete pull thru sites. Site was level. Was actually big-rig access. 40ft RV towing a trailer. Post office was across the street on a quiet road. Laundry had plenty of washers/dryers. Grounds are clean and neat. Will stay here every time we are passing through.
Sites are level and large enough for 40ft rv & trailer. We were tired when we pulled in and the person showing us where the site was argued about how to drive the rv so as to avoid hitting the fire rings. They are well placed and not in the way. We have been full-timing on the road for years, and did not want the help. The water is bad. It tastes as if there may be sulfur in it. We would stay here again, but only after trying another park first.
The hosts were friendly. The site was level and adequate for a 40 ft motor home with 14ft trailer&6 ft tongue. The water was good. We stopped for 1 night and stayed 3 because it was comfortable enough to get some rest. We would stay here again anytime we are passing through.
This place has very narrow roads and spaces. Big rig apparently means you can barely move a 40ft RV around. (We tow a 20 ft trailer behind a 37 ft RV. Whew). It was impossible to fit into the spot we were assigned. There were mostly permanent residents. The place was fairly clean with nice views and nice lake. There was no Wi-Fi, and we barely got cell phone reception. We had a reservation, and before making the reservation we asked the office if they would accept UPS/FedEx packages we would have shipped in ahead of us. We were told sure, no problem. They refused ALL the packages and returned to sender. I asked the office why they did not tell us this. They said, "Well,we should have said no." We are sorry that we did not stay at the Pomona KOA. We will do so next time. We have been there before (KOA) and had no problems.
Grounds were clean. Hiway access was easy. I had a reservation for 65 ft site/full hookups/cable/50 amp that was made in the usual way through koa website. When we arrived we were not believed, and were told that the permanent residents had all of those sites filled and that we could go out into the park and find something with electric and water 30 amp 55 ft. We were towing and require 60 ft minimum. We were not even able to stay, and had to drive another unexpected 50 miles to Laramie to stay at a campground. Will not stay here until ownership changes.
Easy access to freeway. Shopping nearby. Excellent selection of cable channels that looks good.(no fuzz). Wi-Fi is one of the best I have had the opportunity to use (reliable and fast). Quiet. Site was level. Although we have a 37ft motorhome towing a trailer, maneuvering was not a problem. I skipped other parks and drove longer than I wanted that day because of reading rave reviews about this park on this website. We were not disappointed. We will stay here anytime we are passing through. Would stay more than 1 day if schedule permits. Try not to get a site near the motorcycle shop.
Owners very friendly. Park was peaceful and quiet. They had recently opened for the season and camp store was empty. Wi-Fi was not working. Mud was covered with deep gravel and I was concerned about getting stuck. This is WAY below par for a KOA. Will not stay here again. Convenient on/off access to freeway. Cable TV was included and was good in addition to having a large selection of channels.
Although not a vacation destination, we would gladly stay here anytime we are passing through. At this exit are grocery stores, banking and plenty of other retail stores. They were friendly and helpful. The included cable TV was 75 channels. Extremely easy access into and out of campground and site. Site was level and graveled. Close to highway exit and easy to find. There was very little road noise.
