This place was very quiet. We came in pretty late and they had left the key in the cabin for us. They've been doing some updating adding little cement pads in front of the cabins that have a picnic table and a brand new metal fire pit (they kind that people buy for their back patios). In the morning we got quite a beautiful surprise, back behind the campground is some beautiful red rock. They had recently had some spring flooding so some of the sites were messed up but they were working on it. This is a campground that we would stay in again!

I've stayed at many KOA Kampgrounds. This was ok. We stayed in a Kamping Kabin, which are all pretty much standard. This one had an "air conditioner" (that's what the lady said when we checked in). It's really a swamp cooler. Luckily it wasn't so warm that we needed it because I can't use a swamp cooler because of allergies to mold/mildew. The main thing that I didn't enjoy, were the showers/bathrooms. Instead of a separate male/female, they have individual showers and individual toilet/sink bathrooms housed within the same building. There are several problems. At high peak times, there is a line outside for many people just needing to use the toilet. Since the toilet and sink are together, someone could be getting ready for the day, i.e. brushing their teeth, doing their hair or makeup, washing their face, while the rest of us have to wait to actually just use a toilet. This is a poor design. At other KOAs I've never had to stand in a line just to use the toilet (or shower or sink for that matter). The other problem is that they've lined these with unfinished press wood (not certain if that's the correct term) and I noticed that in the showers, it was moldy on the ceiling and upper walls because there are no windows and the moisture just soaks into the unfinished wood. YUK!
