Great campground. Lots are very large, easy to get in. Great hiking within walking distance. Only downside, showers were small and you have to keep pushing the fixture to keep water flowing. Will definitely visit again.
Location is about the only thing this park has going for it! Sites are very tiny. You're almost on top of your neighbor! Electricity was not available at the campsites, and was not working in the bathrooms. Showers were available, for a fee, at the main registration building. The staff was rude and not helpful. There is no where for children to play, except in the streets.
Park is conveniently located to all of the "tourist" attractions of this area of South Dakota. However, there is so much to do at the park that you may not want to leave! There is a nice pool and playground area for kids. There are also basketball courts and beach volleyball courts available. A pancake breakfast is available every morning for a small fee. Campground is very large, with plenty of open space. Lots of shady spots available!
The location of the park is excellent for visiting downtown St. Louis (Arch area). Sites were too tight: it was very difficult to pull through our campsite. Bathrooms and showers were dirty and small. The campground is located in a casino parking lot. Great if everyone with you is over 21. Children younger than that aren't allowed in just to look. No amenities for younger children.
This new campground has a very well thought-out design. Bathrooms (very clean) extending off the main hall include a shower, sink, & commode. Facilities are well- maintained. The park is located close to the Kentucky Horse Park.
The owner is absolutely wonderful! We experienced car trouble while camping here. She found us a mechanic, and was very accommodating in allowing us to stay over past our reserved time. The campground is very child friendly. There is an excellent putt-putt course and play area (with separate swings for little ones). Wide, double-head showers were an unexpected treat! The on-site organic garden offered a wide variety of fresh vegetables, something very hard to come by when you're travelling.
Large Campground with lots of things to do. Was not too crowded, but there were several empty site, which I'm sure are full later in the summer. Most all activities in the campground are included, including miniature golf and paddle boats, which was very nice. Rest rooms closest to me were older, but well maintained. Some looked newer. My kids ranged from 17-9 and all had a great time. We stayed at MB Travel Park last year and enjoyed this campground more, just a little more space and trees. Plan to come again later this summer.
