We loved this campground. The staff was nice and courteous and went out of their way to accommodate us anyway they could. The children had a great time and enjoyed the water slide. As far as noise we were in the 300 sites and we had no problems with noise at all. The only downfall with this campground is that it's so large and you have to drive to get to the store because it was too far to walk in the 95 degree temperatures. We would definitely stay here again perhaps when our children are a little older and can appreciate the battlefield more.
The campground is very neat and clean. The restrooms are immaculate in their cleanliness. Those are the pluses for this campground. The negatives is there is nothing to do here. There is nothing for the kids to do they have no game room and they have one planned activity for the entire weekend. The only activity that they had was Bingo on a Saturday night and they almost didn't have that because they didn't think they would have enough people. There are amusement parks such as Camelbeach and Shawnee Mountain in the area but we feel when you're paying $48 a night to camp you should at least have activities for the kids to do. This was the first and the last time we will stay at this campground. The reason we gave this campground even a five was for it's cleanliness. If you are looking for a place with peace and quiet and nothing to do but sit at the fire and watch TV this is the campground for you! If not then we'd advise you to look into other campgrounds in the area.
We went here for a week with our children so that they could see the beauty of Maine and to be able to enjoy Old Orchard Beach. This is a fantastic campground they provide you with a five star activity program with activities going on throughout the day. They also provide you with Shuttle service to Old Orchard beach so that you don't have to deal with the hassle of having to try to find a parking spot. The children had a blast while we were here and we will be coming here again within the next couple of years for another week's vacation. The only downfall with this campground is the mosquitoes which could pick you up and carry you away if you weren't careful, but there is nothing the resort can do about that problem. The staff was fantastic and the check-in process was a breeze. I have never seen check-in's done they way they do it. You receive your hang tag in the mail and then you have express check-in and they let you right in. We definitely recomend this campground to our fellow campers and we will be coming here again in the future.
We only live an hour from this Camping Park and this is the first place we ever camped at. The campground has a large swimming pool, a lake that you can swim in as well as a water slide and mini golf. It also has a trailer that was converted into a movie theater on site so that you can watch movies. The only downfall to this campground are the bathrooms which they just can't seem to keep clean due to the size of the campground and the constant use. The staff when we have camped there has always been very nice and goes out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. This campground is only an hour away from Atlantic City which is also a plus if you like to go gambling and to site see. We would advice anyone to stay at this campground because our kids have always had a good time going there and there is so much for them to do and we have never heard them say they were bored which is a plus when you have three children.
We have stayed at this campground for several weekends during the summer for over ten years now. The ownership and the staff are always very nice, polite and always go out of their way to help you. There is a lot to do at this campground with chipper and mini golf. They also let you rent a golf cart for the weekend so that you can get around because the park is very large. They also have a large lake where you can go fishing so there are a lot of things for the kids to do and to enjoy. They also have a restaurant and snack bar on the premises which serves fantastic food. This campground is also privately owned which in our opinion is also a plus. We would advice anyone to stay at this campground which is located in the Lancaster Amish Country and there are plenty of things to see and your only 45 miles from Reading and the VF outlets which is also a plus if you like shopping.
We have been staying at this campground on holiday weekends off and on for over ten years and we have never had a reason to complain before prior to this year. The campground is now owned by a corporation called Diversified Investments and after this past weekend it is crystal clear that neither they nor their staff has a clue what they are doing. It rained Friday night and all day Saturday and we had a site with a sewer tank which overflowed and sent raw sewage all over the site. When we went down to the store and asked to be pumped we were given an attitude by the manager and told we would have to wait to be pumped until either Sunday or Monday. We told her that this issue was a safety hazard not only to us but to other people and the environment and we were treated with indifference and an I don't care what you have to say attitude because I'm right and your not. So for the rest of our stay we did not use our shower or our toilet and we had to use the campground facilities. The bathrooms were filthy to say the least. There was black matter on the toilets and the shower curtains were moldy. To say we were disgusted by the bathrooms deplorable conditions would be an understatement. On Sunday evening we went to a dance with the Cruisin' Band and the band was fantastic. The only problem was that there was no staff on hand to monitor the event and the other guests that were attending were drunk and disorderly. When we discussed this matter with management after the dance we received another attitude from the manager and were told that they were short staffed and that they didn't have enough people to monitor the dance. We had our three children with us and we were not only appalled by the drinking but also by the indifference that the manager and her staff presented throughout the weekend. Also the staff seems to have constant turnover the activity directors that we have seen there from previous ownership and now with the current ownership is no longer working there and they were always so nice and polite to everyone and they could never do enough to go out of their way to make sure that you were having a good time. Needless to say that we will never be camping there again as long as Diversified Investments owns it and neither will any of our friends that go with us. My advice to you is that if you're thinking about camping at this campground make sure that you think twice.
