This is a great campground that is located very near the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This is a family style campground that can accommodate large motorhomes to small tents. The managment does an excellent job of keeping this campground clean. Bathhouses are cleaned daily, the pool is clean, and sites are cleaned. There are many shade trees, the Wi-Fi does not reach all sites due to the trees though. There is an area for tents without hookups, porta potties are located in strategic areas to accommodate tenters during their midnight emergencies. Some sites are located right on the Little River which flows at the back of the campground (some have sewer hook-ups but most of the streamside sites do not have sewer hook-ups). The sites are level, but they are not large, I would consider them to be more accommodating than most in regards to size for this area. There are many activities for families (playground, basketball, game rooms, swimming pool, tubing the Little River, bike rentals, I have seen hayrides during the fall). I always stay at this campground when I am in this area of the Smokies, it is friendly, clean, accommodating to my needs, and it is well patrolled by management. There is a restaurant, gas station with small store that has several camping amenities on site. You can buy your firewood in the store and they will deliver right to your site for you. Do NOT miss the fudge shop that is located in the restaurant.

This is an excellent family campground. We have camped here many times and this is a consistently great campground. The sites are very large and level with plenty of shade. There are many non-reservable sites that are located right on the river, I do not think that are many (if any) reservable sites that are located on the water. For the most part, the river sites do not have sewer hook-ups but there are several sites that are not on the water with full hook-ups (excluding cable). There are playgrounds for children, a basketball court, and many amenities. The fishing is great (you can get a temporary, out of state Alabama fishing license nearby). It is located in a remote area of West Alabama, so this is a quiet campground. Bathhouses are consistently cleaned daily and they are clean.

This is an awesome place to camp. While there are not any trees at the campsites, this was not a problem as there is a constant ocean breeze that blows, we did not need to use the air conditioner during our stay. It is a small campground, it is very quiet, and it is immaculately clean. This is a rare find in the keys, there is a small beach and several picnic tables located right on the beach. Some campsites are located right next to the beach, those do not have the larger side sand areas for tent use, but again you are right next to the beach. The State of Florida did an excellent job in the design of this small campground. All sites have a gravel base, even though I had a site literally 15 feet from the beach, I did not have sand issues in my camper. There are not any sewer sites but you can use a blue tote and go to the dump station. The bathhouse is centrally located and easily accessible to all campsites. The water pressure is a bit low for showers, but again you are in the Florida Keys and fresh water is a precious item here. The bathroom does not have flush toilets, but it does have an elaborate water treatment recycling system built in and odor was never a problem in the bathhouse (I still rate this campground a 10). Sunrise on the beach is an incredible site. Pets are allowed, but they are restricted to certain areas and this is strictly enforced. Although this is a small campground (28 sites), there were 3 park hosts so there is someone watching over the campground at all times, and the Florida Park Rangers also make frequent rounds here. This may account for the reasons that this is such a quiet, clean place to camp. There is a day use area right next to the campground that has a very nice large playground for children and covered picnic tables for families. Several people were camping in tents. Many of the non-ocean front sites have a larger sand area which is a great place to pitch a tent, I did see several that camped in a tent on the ocean front gravel sites also. The location of this campground is perfect. You are about halfway down the keys, so it is about 50 miles to Key West and about 50 miles to Key Largo, so everything is easily accessible to you. This campground rates a perfect 10.

I disagree with some of the below posts regarding a low rating for this campground. We camped here in May 2006 over Memorial weekend as a family unit occupying 2 different sites. The management was friendly, but yes they enforce rules. We had a pet and they were friendly to my pet when we were out on walks. We have a child, although the campground does not have a playground on site, there was plenty of areas where we could play and this did not pose any problems either. The lack of a playground is the only reason that I do not rate this campground a 10. When I am camping, I personally do not like to camp at a place where they let everyone drive through just to look and I feel that the management has the responsibility to their other campers to question any such activities. The showers and bathhouses were very clean, sites were level and quite large for campgrounds in this area, they were shaded and kept clean. The trolley goes by at scheduled intervals, it sometimes is a little late, but this is not the campgrounds fault. I personally find the trolley to be quite convenient as we do not have to worry about parking a large pickup in Gatlinburg. I would definitely stay at this campground again.
