This is a great NEW park. It is set up for motorhomes, long pull through sites, easy turns, friendly staff. It is just south of Roanoke Rapids on I-95. Just south of the VA/NC line. It is new, friendly and has an extra 20 FHU sites JUST for overnighters! Nicely landscaped but no trees to get in the way. Cable tV, pool, etc. It sits about 1 mile off the road (exit 171). I used it both directions north and south this year and even stored my rig here for a while because of a side trip. No homesteaders, very nice, clean place. Great for an overnight or for a longer stay to tour the area. Highly recommend.
This park was a pleasant surprise at the end of a long day. It is clean, has long pull-through level sites, lots of grass that is well-tended. The owners care and it shows. It is not a fancy resort, but it has all the things necessary for a comfortable stay, even a small pond for children to fish in. It is very quiet and I am glad I drove the 10 miles off the interstate to get here (it was by good roads). This is a great overnight stop, and would also be a good place to stay while touring the area. It also has a rec room that group campers would be interested in.
Absolutely spooky. I am one of three rigs here, and one is a horse trailer that looks like it is in storage. If I wasn't so tired, I would go on. Truthfully, the sites are well laid out, long pull-throughs, the electric, water and sewer work. It looks like someone tried to have a nice RV park here, but no one came. If you need an overnight stop, it will work. There isn't much else out here to stop at instead.
This is one of the best maintained campgrounds I have seen. The owners are very interested in having a GREAT small RV park. Everything is meticulously maintained. Don't let the road in dissuade you, the park is great. It is friendly, very neat and caring and the casino is just down the road. Good stop for sightseeing the area also.
This probably once was a nice campground. It is situated on a number of hills and the roads wander up and down, steeply. Roads are in poor repair. Most of the sites looked like they hadn't been used in years. Most were small and not even close to level. If you want rustic, this place will do, but it is very run down. "Lake" was a slimy pond.
The campground was such a wonderful surprise at the end of a long day. Very friendly staff, they even serve meals. Will deliver to your rig or eat in the cafe area. Campground showed that the owner's cared. I will definitely stay here again.
