We stopped in on our way to Tennessee; did not plan to stop but weather was bad. We paid in the office and the office person wasn't very friendly. We were escorted to our site by a person on a golf cart. Our site was a little soggy from the rain, so our vehicle wasn't that level. Wi-Fi was slow and the cable TV was going in and out. Our water was a little cloudy; I guess it was because of the weather. Bathrooms were not dirty but not very clean. We washed some clothes but they didn't come out real clean and the drier didn't properly dry them after 45 minutes. Park had a few long-term residents. A few were out walking around. Went out to dinner in town. There was not much to choose from. The area was pretty quiet. We saw a police cruiser drive through checking out park at night. We may stop back if in the area to see if things are better.
Arrived early evening on our way home to Tennessee, met at the gate by the campground host, a very nice lady. She collected our money and escorted us to our site. Once at our site we hooked up and planned to settle in for the night. Park was pretty full with some long term residents, park was clean and quiet, considering highway 75 was near by. Bathhouse and laundry were clean. We stayed here about two years ago and since then the upgraded the cable they now have over 70 channels, so you have your choice of programming, I like the sports channels and my wife likes USA,Food network, etc which was terrific. We enjoyed our evening and left mid-morning the next day. If we are in the area we will stop in again, and maybe stay longer. We recommend this park.
We were taking a trip to Florida and were traveling all day so we decided to stop here, we were planning on staying for a month but we had to change our plans. We went to register and found out that there was a 2 pet minimum per site, we had 3 very small dogs, and there were no exceptions to the rule, so we decided not to stay. We feel that rule is not very fair, its our own motorhome and should be allowed to have the dogs in our home as long as we clean-up after them and make sure they don't destroy property. Other than that and no cable the park looked clean and well maintained. We will not return to this park again. So beware if you have more than 2 pets don't stop there.
Stopped on our way home from Florida vacation. We stayed here once before and were surprised to see it was now a KOA. It's not your typical KOA. We only stayed because it was late. We arrived well after dark. The park was not well lit, and it was hard to see the roads to the RV spaces. We ended up going the wrong way and had to back track to get to our spot. We hooked up and settled in for the rest of the night. We got up early in the morning to sounds of the truck repair next door. We went up to the showers, and they were not very clean, and the men's room was very cold because the heater didn't work properly. The ladies room was a little better. When we stayed there before the bathrooms were much cleaner. Don't know who cleans them now, but they need some maintenance. We told they manager/owner but didn't get much of a response. They seamed not to care. My son wanted to play in the play area, but some of the equipment didn't look safe. There were horseshoe stakes sticking out of the ground, which a child could fall on and get hurt. So we decided to pack up and leave early. We will not return again unless park changes hands.
Very nice, clean and friendly campground. They just changed over to KOA and are making several improvements to the campground. They recently painted the pool and it looks great and inviting. The new owner is very friendly and helpful. Met some of the longterm residents and they are very friendly. The campground is clean along with the restrooms, showers and laundry room. The only problem with laundry room is the driers: they take to much money to dry. Its quicker to hang them by your camper. If we are in the area again, we will choose Tifton KOA.
This park is fine for an overnight stay, but don't get on the owners bad side. Rule number 1: This park does not fully inform you about any of their personnel rules as follows: Camper must be 10 years or younger or you can't stay there at a monthly rate. So tell your family and friends to call them first before you waste your fuel and travel all the way there and be turned away. We have had friends with different emails email this park and ask them about an extended stay and they never told them about the 10 year or younger rule, but they told us when we wanted to go back their after the summer after staying there for sometime between 07 and 09.They say its a new insurance rule, but we checked with other managers of different parks and they say insurance would not make the rule, because a park does not insure your camper, you do and it cannot be insured twice. This is a form of discrimination. But we appreciate them not wanting us because we found a much better park for less the money with all amenities.
Been checking on parks to spend our winter vacation in Lake City Florida over the summer and was emailing the owner of this park over the summer and she was very helpful even lowered the monthly rates for us ,so we decided to take a chance and go to the park. The week before we were to leave the owner emailed me and told me there was a problem with the satellite company and satellite might not be available when we arrived, also that there was no Wi-Fi available either, but because we needed to go to Florida to take care of business anyway we decided to go to the park anyway. We arrived at the park early in the day and it was hard to find the street the park was on, because there was no sign at the top of the road leading to the park, but we finally found the road leading to the park after passing it up twice. The road to the park was a long long narrow dirt road about 10minutes down from the main road. When we finally arrived at the park entrance there were only 3 campers there that were long term residents. The owners of the park were not there when we arrived, so we asked at one of the campers, were we should hookup and they told us just to choose a spot and the owners son usually comes by sometime throughout the day to collect rent. We hooked up and ran to town for food which was quite a ride. When we returned we asked the neighbor if the owner or her son had been by and they said no. So after sitting there and looking around the park we decided to leave and go elsewhere. There was not much to do at this park if you are not into outdoor activities in the area like the rivers or hunting. This park has no activities within the park, so if your looking for a park with activities like bingo, potluck dinners etc. don't choose this park. We would not choose this park again not enough to do for the price.
We decided to stop and check out the park for our winter vacation in Florida. The park was nice and clean. Pool was clean cool and refreshing. Only problems with the park was the area, it was in the poorer part of town and far away from the local Wal-Mart. Also if you stay nightly the Wi-Fi is free to nightly guest, but we found out that if you stay monthly you have to pay $20.00 extra per month, which we found to be outrageous, since they charge $400.00 per month plus tax. After hearing about the $20.00 extra per month for Wi-Fi we decided to try another park in the area for our winter stay in Florida. Other than those problems the park was OK. The manager/owner seemed a little rude and really didn't go out of her way to care about us not staying for the winter. We would stay here again if in the area, but just overnight.
A very nice park, now under new ownership and management. New owner is making lots of improvements and upgrades to this park. One new change is they now have cable TV with 80 channels. We camped for a night and decided to stay for the month. Only we problem we had was we parked under a large tree, when it gets windy from storms, you have hard nuts from the trees falling on your rooftop. Other than that, had a nice stay.
We stayed here for the month of July had a great visit. It is very clean and well maintained park. You could cook in your microwave and run your air conditioning and stay cool at the same time without the breaker going off. The pool was fantastic very clean and clear water. The other campers and long term residents were very friendly. The staff was helpful and friendly. If in the area we would gladly stay here again. It is very affordable.
We stopped in for a rest on our way home from winter vacation in Florida. We went to the office to check in and found no one there,so we waited a short time when we were approached by a man in a power chair, he asked us if we would like to stay the night and he checked us in.He told us owner was away for weekend and he was in charge of office, he was very nice and pleasant. He told us we could choose our site and told us where the 30amp and 50 amp sites were. We chose the 30amp site up top. After hooking up we took a look around and did not like some of the things we saw. The pool was still green and looked like it hadn't been touched in months or longer. The bathrooms were dirty and looked as if they had not been cleaned in awhile. Some of the long term residents there didn't look very sociable. In our opinion it looked like the park has not been taken care of in a longtime. The area around the park was deserted, the local truck stop was closed down so there was no gas or food in the area. You had to go to the next exit for food or shopping. We would not stay here again.
Park, restrooms and laundry werecl ean and in good condition. Wifi worked well as did the cable tv. The management just added on an addition to the park.Only downfall to this addition was you could not receive wii and cable tv in that area,it seems they don't have the money or the equipment to add wiring for the wifi or cable tv. Another problem with the park was the fact they only had one trash dumpster for the whole park and it fills up over the top and trash falls on the ground. There lots of locals there that were pretty friendly. The park owners seemed ok,but did not like to chat with you only to say hi. If in the area we would stay again, but ask for a space away from the sign shop right in the park backyard. Some nights they worked late and there was lots of noise when the workers there threw out there work trash. One thing that would make the park better would be a poo. It gets very hot in Florida in the summer.
Needed a place to rest overnight on our way to Georgia, so we chose this park, which turned out to be a bad choice. There were a lot of permanent residents here, some in old campers and some in make-shift tents. The restrooms were dirty as was the laundry room. Most of the sites were not level. They told us that they have Wi-Fi but that did not work either. Since we found out that there was no Wi-Fi, you had to try and connect to the local business in the area to get Wi-Fi. We told the park manager about the problems but he didn't care. If in the area again we will not stay at this park.
