Lots of space between camp sites. Most visitors stayed at least a few nights so not so much in and out activity which was nice. Lower level has well placed mature trees for good shading Delta breezes to cool off. Great view of river. Marina has small swimming area to dip. Office staff very helpful, accommodating and friendly, the type of people you always want to find at campgrounds/RV parks. Laundry on site (2 washers, 2 dryers). Wi-Fi spotty if far from marina office but it is free so sit yourself outside office on the deck to watch the sunset while you surf the net. Rate is unbeatable. $25 day is weekly rate. Convenient location to shopping for necessities (Nuggett food, Lowe’s, Target, Earth First). Lower level does not have sewer hook up. Four full bathrooms available, 3 keyed (pay $15 deposit), one available to EVERYONE so avoid that particular unit. Lower level entry a bit steep. Our site required two layers of levelers on one side. Most other sites used some kind of leveling adjustment as parking was on grass. Upper level in full sun and mostly permanent residents (some units very old). Ownership heavily waters during summer heat to cool down camp area. This created an ant invasion every watering. Some road noise from River Road but dies down at night time. We had extended stayed due to having business and family in the area. We would gladly return for shorter stays but no sewer hook up does gets old. There is dump station but you have to exit lower level, go down the road at least a mile to turn around, enter upper level camp area, then exit upper level, go down the road at least a mile to turn around around to come back to enter the lower level.
Rate is $60/night discounted by buying annual KOA membership. Nice pool, not too crowded as kiddie water play area is separate. Park is set up for families and kids, we knew that so readily accepted it. We were first signed up for space A-1 which was right across from kiddie water park area. We ran back to office to ask for A-6 which was only other opening. Staff in office helpful, it was busy and chaotic but they handled the traffic flow well. Tons of staff throughout park helping, overseeing, doing trash etc. Each site had a reasonable amount of space in-between. Hook ups (water/electric) set up that you are back to back with your neighbor on one side, so a bit more private feeling and our other neighbor elected to pull in with his back to us so he could utilize the corner end unit better for his family. So good for us. The every other direction of the sites was confusing at first. Overall easy in and out of site and park. Site was level. Dump station for guest at exit of campground. For families, movies and events occur on weekends. The weekend we stayed was Xmas in July for the kids. Had to buy Friday and Saturday night to get a place to stay Friday night. We didn’t plan so well, so mea culpa. Our site was water/electric only. We viewed the restrooms at dinner time and they were tired, damp from showers and a bit musty for a day’s worth of use. We elected to use our own trailer for all services since it was a one-night stay. We forfeited site after the one night as this was part of larger travel trip. We would likely not return as we are not target customer for this (and most) KOAs.
Rate was great for one night. Friendly check in person, informative. Very nice stock of RV necessities in office for purchase. Easy in and out of site (pull through) and of park. Site was level. Area is VERY windy but it dies down by nightfall. Landscape crew was mowing and blowing at 6 PM, should be doing that when guest have either checked out or might be out running errands, not at dinner time. Part of a longer trip so we only stayed one night. We would likely not return to Port Orford again primarily due to windy/overcast weather.
Nice quiet park. Full hook ups, easy in and out of site and park. Site was mostly level, used one layer of levelers on one side. Very friendly check in person. We did not have reservations and was treated as if we did. Nice stock of camping necessities in office for purchase. This was overnight stay, part of longer trip so we didn’t need tourist things or restaurants. Weather was cold and overcast in July so we primarily stayed indoors, ate dinner and headed out earlier in the AM to continue our trip.
Most sites are pull through with tall hedging on each side to provide maximum feeling of privacy. Easy in and out of site and park. Site mostly level. Grass patch runs length of pull through site. Picnic table provided. Nice pond in middle of park. Efficient and friendly check in couple. Full hook ups were convenient except for sewer, we had to keep our back end of trailer to end of our site for hook up to sewer. Our sewer connection is middle of our RV. Used restroom once during walk and it was older but clean. No code for entry as access to park is guarded (meaning you have to drive by office for entry). This one night stay was part of longer travel trip. This wouldn’t be our type of park for longer stays, we prefer state-like parks. For outside of Seattle, this is a very choice park to go into the city for tourist or business matters. Upon our leaving early the next morning, 405 was slow to get through as we expected.
