This is a nice park, with many trees, lots of green space and activities (pool, little lake, small golf course) but the park fails to tell pet owners of a problem with Bufo/cane frogs. These frogs are common to this park and extremely toxic. 2 dogs have recently died after encounters with these frogs, all it takes is a dog to touch this frog with mouth area, and it is fatal in less than 30 minutes). I believe they should warn guest when checking in about this danger. Has a serious problem with some French Canadians during winter. They take over the park. Very rude and unfriendly. We will not stay here again.
Giving the campground a 6 because of the rude behavior of the owners daughter when reserving our site. Almost didn't stay here because of this. He has two daughters so don't know which, but one needs lessons in manners. Owner is very nice but didn't seem interested in knowing about rude behavior of daughter. This is sad because the campground is very nice and sites are clean and large. Stayed one night. Will we stay here again. NO unless he keeps the daughters away from answering the phone.
Very nice park. Cool mountain air was welcome from the July heat. Staff was nice and helpful. Did not notice any highway noise and no smell from a paper mill. Would stay here again and would like to stay longer next time.
We stayed here one night and were glad to get in. Nothing was available after the storms around OK City. Another campground gave us the information for this one. Was hot, we couldn't find a place to stay, and were traveling with 2 dogs and a cat. Nice campground for overnight. Had great catfish in the restaurant next door to where you pay for the campground. Friendly staff.
Campground was OK. But watch out for those silly posts buried into the ground around the camp sites. They stick up about 2 feet. We didn't see them and damaged one of our wheel covers (hub cap). If a person would get one of those jammed against their campers it would cause a great deal of damage.
This park was cooler than the other areas we visited in the east. Lots of nice pine trees. Very tight narrow turn by office to get to sites. Big rigs and motor homes with toads would have great difficulty. We had to back up a few times to get into that narrow road. Not much room to swing around to get in straight. The park has NO water pressure. You would have trouble taking a shower or doing anything with water. Mentioned to office lady and she said they had 35 pounds of water pressure. Most RV parks have more than that! All we got was a very small stream out of the faucets.
Very nice park. We have stayed here several times when traveling. Nice friendly people work here. While staying here: they went around to all campers and told them of a high wind warning and suggested we stay another night. Sure glad we did, because that was some tough wind. Would have been dangerous to drive through. There is a great restaurant within walking distance.
This park was bad! No park manager was available. One of those "put your money in an envelope and drop box". Pick your own site. Lots of junk cars and weeds grown up around, although the site was mowed. There were many low hanging tree limbs. Difficult to get into and out. There are some older trailers that probably live there. We will not stay here again. Passport America park, so cost $10.
Great little campground. Lots of nice, green grass with shade trees. Friendly staff. Stayed a week, using Escapee rate which was $17. Just off hwy 80 and easy to get to. Water pressure is great. Has a small lake, and room for big rigs. This is our second stay, and will stay here again!
Denver Meadows is the worse RV park we have stayed. And we stay in a lot of RV parks since we are full timers. Most are nice but this one is terrible. Parked on an old parking lot with grass growing up between the cracks. Old electrical hook ups. Park has had water problems since we been here. No warning, they just shut off water. Only place to walk dogs is a knee high weed place. Very narrow with trash and weeds. RV office has a lot of trash and junk piled behind the office which is on the side the RVs are parked. Very dirty RV park. We are not expecting a resort but something safe and clean. When it rains it has large standing pools of water that do not drain away. Have not seen any security! We will Not stay here again. We found a nice place about a mile East of here, less expensive and much nicer. That is the place we will stay next time we have business here.
We stayed here a month Oct 2008 and month in April 2009. This campground has improved very much with new owners in last two years. This is one of our favorite places. Staff is friendly and helpful. Nice place to walk our dogs, and lots of shade trees. Safe campground. Had plenty of room for our big 5th wheel. Our dish worked well there, with all the trees. We paid a month rate and was also a winter rate. Under old owners this campground was packed like sardines with small narrow sites. This has much improved. We would recommend this campground.
Dirty camp ground, very small narrow sites, low hanging tree limbs, only one trash dumpster and was full to overflowing. No one here seems to know what is going on. Had sign on front of office for ice cream social. People showed up and no one was there. Pet walk area did not have a trash can, staff was surprised to know there was a sign that said "pet walk area." We had to take our trash with us because there was no place to put it. Over priced for this park.
This is a typical KOA. Over priced, small narrow sites. What we did not like was a dog running loose, wetting on picnic tables. Also defecating on campsites. I called the office and they said it belonged to the owners of the park. Also, no one was here to show us to our site. We asked for someone. They acted like it was a big deal to do this. We will not stay here again.
We had made reservations for this one night stay. When driving in, person in the office sent us to a site that was too small. Site was a right turn into a pull through site. No one took us to the site. The owner could have done this. She came over while we were trying to park. Told us we were in the wrong site. Had scratches on top of our expensive fifth wheel and broke our sewer wind vent. She told us her husband would buff the scratches out which was OK. Her attitude was bad. Should learn about customer service. We should not have tried to get into this site, but was also their fault for giving us this site after we had made reservations for another site! Who in their right mind would make a park with right turns into pull through sites? We will not stay there again! Was a terrible experience to deal with this woman!
We tried to book a site here. Every time I talked to the lady I got a different rate. The owner was unavailable. She was a go between. The quote she gave me was outrageous! She said owner would not give a month rate so people would be able to leave if they didn't like the park. Never heard of this before! We have a 2008 5th wheel and a 2008 truck. So it couldn't be our rig. We had business in the Sioux Falls area for a month. But will not stay there! Many more parks with reasonable rates and friendly staff that know what they are doing.
We were with a group here. Everyone was very nice until Saturday. Most everyone had left but couple were still here including us. We had checked with the staff 5 times to affirm our departure day and time. We were leaving Sunday instead of Saturday and this had been secured many months ago. I also confirmed this when we checked in. Saturday one of the staff came by and told us we had to move for that night because someone had booked someone in our site. I said if they did that then the new people should be moved to another site. They said no we had to move for our last night. We said we would just leave. We started packing up. The lady came back and said we could stay in our site. I said no because by that time we were packed and ready to go. The owner was not there that one day and he called me yesterday and apologized to me and said we should never have been treated this way. I will have to think hard and long about staying there again. Also the girl that made the mistake on their computer also called and said she was sorry and it was her fault.
This park is nothing special, even after they have worked on it. It is not worth $45 a day for sure! We will not be back at this campground again. We did go every July 4th for several years. New owners bought it and raised the rate. This is the most expensive RV park in the area. Wouldn't mind paying if it was worth the price. No patio, no place to park the tow vehicle. gravel site. Last time we stayed there we were next to office. We could not put our awning out. Trees within a inch of our slides. Took us awhile to get into our site. This site was much too small for our big rig. We were next to a busy street that was the entrance to campground. We had our reservation for about 8 months.
We were here a week with a group. We all have big 5th wheels. Some of our people had good sites some did not. Some of us ask for other sites that we fit into. We were first given an unacceptable site. We couldn't get our slides out because of a bank and tried to shovel it down so we could. Also we were about 2 feet from a drop off bank from our front door. We could not fit our large 5th wheel into this site. We ask for something that would fit and were prepared to leave. They said they were full and there were plenty of empty spaces, that we saw. Finally they did give us another site and charged us $9.00 more a night which the site was not worth $39 a night. Very unfriendly owner of this park. He could care less if we stayed there or not. Not one of our people were rude to him but he was rude! We will never stay in this campground again and I heard this from some of our group. The ones that didn't get decent sites. There were plenty of decent sites available but he was trying to shove everyone he could in those less than desirable sites. He would not let anyone know what site they would be in before we arrived. Also he would not let anyone see their site until they paid. We moved to another site which was not worth the $39 we paid daily but was better than the one we had. At least our 5th wheel fit into this one. Some of our group had damage to their expensive 5th wheel trailers trying to get into the bad sites. Never saw anything like this before. Very bad service.
We had reservations and had checked several times to see if they still had our reservations. We had driven all day from Western Kansas. We were very tired. We found they had sold our site for more money. We had got there around 3 pm in the evening. The owner of park was very rude. He told us we could stay there and pay $27 for no hook up or sewer or anything. We declined and drove 45 more miles to a very nice RV park we had stayed at before. We have never been treated so badly in our entire life traveling. No apologies or anything from the owner. He said very smart mouthed for us to have a safe trip. And then sneered and laughed at us. We found they were having somekind of race there in Kansas City and he had raised the prices for park to make more money. Even though we had had our reservation for 4 months! He had no full hook up spaces available because he had sold our reserved site! No one told us the price had gone up for that week. We would have paid if our site was available.
