This is a clean, safe, family friendly campground. Lots of thought has gone into making this a nice place to stay. Camp K-9 was so nice, just wish the pet owners cleaned up after their pets. That is no fault of the owners. The site we stayed at was nice and level with easy in and out. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We can't wait to return.
Long level sites at a huge park. Clean and safe, convenient to the Amana Colonies. Wi-Fi service very reliable, but you only get CBS and Fox on TV, which wouldn't be an issue if there were other things to do but the stores at the Colony close for business around 5:00-6:00 pm. A few shade trees are planted but will take 10-15 years to mature. Limited picnic tables and fire rings. Restrooms are few and far between. If these amenities are important to you, be sure to discuss at check in with the very friendly office staff. No pool or playground for children. Very limited on discount plans accepted, Passport is the only one they really mention.
It's a beautiful campground and the people are very friendly. Be careful if you have a big rig as the campground was built in the 1960's when rigs were smaller. It's very tight to get around in this park.
First of all, you just have to know this park is there to be able to find it. This park is laid out in a very strange pattern and is not easy to get around in. Lots of long term tenants in older trailers. Construction debris along the back of the park makes it very unattractive as well. We stayed there one night passing through and will not stay there again. Will take our chances at another park in the area. They do offer late arrivals which is convenient if you are in a bind. There is absolutely nothing to do outside your trailer and nothing to look at if you just want to sit outside. Maintenance seems to be minimal to get by.
Super clean, safe park right on the ocean. Nice concrete sites with a little grass at each campsite. It's a ways to drive to get to anything else but if you just want to sit in your trailer or walk down to their little piece of beach, it's wonderful.
Very nice, clean campground. Great location. It depended on who you spoke with in the office as to the friendliness of the office staff. One lady was super helpful and another was super rude on the phone while we were just trying to make a reservation. Don't think it was the owner so don't hold it against them. Take lots of quarters if you plan to use the laundromat as they are a little pricing on drying (.50 for 10 minutes). The site we stayed at was very unlevel (gravel). We checked out other sites and will request one of them next time we stay there.
This campground was completely destroyed by the flood but they are rebuilding as fast as they can. The restrooms just re-opened while we were there and my goodness are they ever nice. The people in the office are extremely nice and bent over backwards to be helpful. The sites that have been able to re-open are nice but lots of road noise where we stayed. The campsite is very pet friendly and the pool area is wonderful. We will definitely stay there again. The location is wonderful but let's keep that a secret.
This park is very clean and safe. The lady in the office was very friendly and helpful. Nice place for a family with a sparkling clean pool and pond for fishing. No cable access but great Wi-Fi availability. We had a problem with low voltage at our site but that could have been an isolated incident. Our particular site was very un-level (gravel) so next time we will ask for another site. Will stay here again when passing through. Also note their website says they are 30 miles from St Louis but it's more like 50. Maybe 30 from the city limit sign.
