The good and the bad. New park, not as shady as you may think; all the trees are trimmed very high, letting morning and afternoon sun in. Very nice owners, and spotless bathrooms and showers. They don't heat the pool; says " it costs to much". They only heat the hot tub when requested to. In previous reviews it says family friendly, but we were told it is adults only when we said we may come back with our grandkids. Please explain how that is family friendly. Maybe 20% full in winter. It looks like they need another year. Probably won't come back.
Price reflects passport america rate for 3 nights. This is a great park with very large sites, wooded with tons of shade. If a parking lot with hook ups is your thing, don't come here. If friendly people of all age groups, and a great staff is what you want, than this is your place. We had a breaker out in our power hook up, and we told the office, and it was fixed in 15 minutes by a friendly and smartly dressed maintenance staff person. Great pool and spa, a playground for my grandkids and a dog run. The list goes on and on. Don't miss this place!
The staff here was over-the-top helpful. There were great activities for our grandchildren. Wonderful pool area with food & drink available. Very clean everywhere. Wonderful landscaping done to the max. I would love to see a hot tub like their sister resort Sun n Fun in Sarasota has. Price reflects a discount coupon they sent us, but we will come back and pay full price anytime. Great spot to base your Orlando visit from. They had some really cool cottages for rent there as well.
The only reason it does not get a 10 is WiFi havs been down for some time now, and we were told it would be back up while we were there, no dice. But it was actually nice to be internet free for a few days. Great place, you can keep your boat in your site with you, plenty of room. Great pool and hot tub. Very quiet & and great for kids. With Passport America it was less than $20 a night.
The best part about this KOA is the owner, and staff. Excellent is too low a rating. Just the best. Beautiful little river flows through property, and you can take a short tube ride if you want. Beautiful grounds, lots of stuff for my grandkids to do. Very clean pool.I usually only give Disney a 10, this place was great. If they were to put a hot tub in, the 10's would fall from that beautiful North Carolina sky. We stayed for 6 nights. Don't miss this place.
Only Disney gets a 10, but this place is a 9.8 for sure. It is huge and we came during peak season, and they was no issues at all. Great pool and hot tub area, with food and drink. Great new indoor pool for adults, with gym and steam room. Don't miss this place.
Price reflects Passport America rate. Everyone needs to try this place. It is especially great for boaters. True it is not on the water, but several ramps are just minutes any. They also let you keep your boat at your site. We had 29' camper and 22' boat with two vehicles, and there was plenty of room. Now not all the sites are this big, but most sites are very roomy, with lots of shade. Great covered pool, with hot tub. You can also have a fire if you bring one the raised pits. I got a good one at Home Depot for $29. Don't miss this place. (I only give Disney a 10.)
Not much going on here, it might be better if they had cable seeing it is connected to the motel next door. No shade and a little old. The pool in the hotel next door is nice and you can use it. It is right on the beach, with a beautiful view, and this part of the beach no cars drive on. Great sunsets.
Do yourself a favor and don't miss this place. It it what all other campgrounds want to be. Beautiful sites, always clean, perfect restrooms, and a great pool. The transportation system is nothing short of amazing. We always spend a little more and book the premium sites, and it is worth it. It's like you have your own wooded lot. Now being that it is Disney, don't look for anything cheap. If your in the penny pinching crowd, it might not be for you. But if you have kids or grandchildren, this place is a must. The time of year you go has a lot to do with price.
Good park clean, springs were great, the camping area is managed by an outside firm, and I took my two wheel electric scooter to restroom due to the fact I have an artificial knee. I was told not to ride it any more. When I said and showed that I was disabled, the attendant only said if I rode it again, I would be asked to leave. I never knew these places to discriminate against people with disabilities. I put my electric scooter in my truck I packed up and left.
Great park they help you get to your site. Gravel sites with great slabs to walk on. Very friendly staff. I see more upgrades since last summer. We stayed in K-60, & K-59. Nice shaded spots. The whole "k" area is nice. Close to the pool which is a BIG attraction. Only this week end was some kind of kick off weekend, and the whole city of Sarasota got in free I guess. Turns out that is how they promote season passes. I was not real happy to pay for a premium site and then the whole city gets in free. By the end of the day the water was a little yellow it seamed. We will return but check to see what events are happening first.
As usual it was great. If they could get their on line check in going better that would be cool. The thing they have everyone by a mile is the transportation system. Go anywhere, almost any time and its all free. We made a cool half day out of just taking the grand kids to Disney world entrance by boat, then touring other resorts by monorail. They had a blast, and you can swim at the other resorts while you are there if you want. Nothing is cheap, but nothing is better.
If you are looking for the perfect place, this may not be for everyone. Yes, the sites are small, yes the place is older, but they keep it up and its a lot nicer than when we were last here. It has not changed a lot. If you have a boat the spots on the water with a dock are nice, but small. No king sized 5th wheel models are going to fit on some of the waterfront sites. Cable was great, and there was 60 channels. Staff and all people staying there were friendly. We will come back.
I guess the only bad thing I could say was lack of grass. The place was packed. But it was lots of snow birds, all the year round units were very nicely kept, no junk. Staff was very nice, pool was clean and hot tub was nice, but a little small for the size of this park. No sites are paved, all dirt and grass, but level with lots of trees. We will come back soon.
Can't beat the Florida resident price for the premium site. This is our second time here, and the only negative is check in is so slow. We sat in line for 45 minutes before they opened more lanes. Everything else was perfect. If you have never done this park, do yourself a favor and go. You don't have to go to any of the theme parks if you don't want, but if you want to transportation is free and great.
The only reason I don't give it a higher score, is the boat ramp is a dirt and pebble ramp. It was very steep and hard to get a larger boat out. The site were very nice, with a great view of the river. very roomy and clean, with a friendly staff. 20 channels of cable, but all the right channels. We will go back.
Wow! What beautiful sites. The best manicured park I have ever been in. We had our grandchildren with us, and the swamp buggy ride was neat, but a bit high priced at $25.00, and $15.00 for the kids. The rodeo was wonderful, and the petting zoo was a big hit. The staff was great. Great sites with wonderful decks. Made my 25' travel trailer look smaller than it already is. Great place, we will come back.
Nice place, but dirt and dust with few paved roads. They show the waterslide in the website video, but if its slow in mid-week, it does not open. The train ride was neat, and the staff was very friendly. No cable TV, but they had a neat movie room with a big screen so we could watch the Gators on Saturday. The big draw back is if you want shade, then the sites had no grass, all dirt and dust, and no cable TV. I probably will not come back. The swimming areas are nice.
It was just a six. Face it: the place is run down, and the floods bad when it rains. I saw some tenters loose it all in the middle of the night due to the floods. The "perms" are a little out of control. I just was barely able to back my 25' travel trailer in because of a broken down truck across the street, that was part way in the street. When asked if he could move it the answer was, " IT DON'T CRANK." Turns out this guy was also one of the park rangers. The staff was nice, especially the guy at the boat ramp. If they would just clean up some of the trashy units here, it could be a 7 or 8, due to it's location on the water.
The only available short term sites were out in the sun, all others were year rounders. There are nice sites on the river, but their web site is a little misleading. Pool was ok at best, has a nice kid's playground. Probably won't come back.
This probably would have been a 10, but only Disney gets that. We stayed over 4th of July, so it was crowded but the friendly staff had everything under control. This place has a great pool, tiki bar area. The restrooms were spotless, and the service, trash pick up, etc., was top notch. We will come here again for sure. A lot of year round models here, but no trashy stuff at this place. Don't let the 1500 site thing scare you off. We played shuffleboard, mini golf, and had lots of fun at the huge pool, with two big hot tubs. Great Place!
Tops on my list of anywhere we have ever been. Disney provides everything. Great 100%. Buses go everywhere. You need nothing. Great for kids. Playgrounds, pools, pony rides, campfires with live singers and Disney characters. Go there you will love it.
Some pads need to be replaced, but the new heated pool was nice. The spring area with falls was very nice, and the sulfur odor was hardly noticed, and after an hour, not noticed at all. Has very friendly and helpful staff. I will return here.
