I would have given a higher rating had the campground been less rundown. It is very obvious that this park needs updating (it is for sale). The Wi-Fi was nonexistent. You could connect but that was it. You had to go to the library, which is next door, to use the Internet. Cell signal did not exist, either Verizon or AT&T. It was a very quiet location and I would stay there again, as it was convenient to Mt. Rainier. Over 80 miles to Mt. St. Helens.
The park is quiet and relatively clean given it's got a water park combined with it. I couldn't give the park a higher rating due to the lack of manners the campers displayed. But in their defense there were no rules posted on how campers should or should not act. My case in point was the way the campers would walk through occupied camp sites. This included adults as well as children. I think if the rules of respect were posted and maybe emphasized then this wouldn't have been a problem. Even though it was next to a major highway and the water park, it was still very quiet. The sites were very small and you had to be careful when you put out your awning or you would hit your neighbor. Given all the poor manners, I would still stay here again.
Excellent location, could not ask for a better host. When we got here I asked for a shady spot, his reaction was "let me lock up, and we will walk around till you find what you want." Only negatives are the small sites and iffy Wi-Fi. As the host said, when this park was built there weren't any 40' rigs. Sites are a little unlevel but a board fixes all. Very quiet even though in town as the name states. I would stay here again. Rate reflects Good Sam discount.
Rate reflects Good Sam. Excellent park. Even though it's next to the highway, you could barely hear the big rigs going by. And this was sitting outside. Laundry very reasonable and clean. I really can't think of a negative thing to say. I would stay here again and travel extra miles to do so.
Price reflects GC discount. Excellent campground near I-40 but you can't hear the interstate even though you can see it. Also next to a large truck stop but again not an issue. Very friendly staff, they work to make your stay excellent. Only one Wi-Fi per site but when asked about another computer, no problem. Highly recommend this park to anyone and would stay here again.
Price reflects GC discount. Excellent campground and very well run. WiFi is very slow as they share with the motel. Sites are spacious and mostly level. Reason for downgrade is the cost but they are the only game in town. Laundry is high ($3) per wash load plus drying at $0.25 per 10 minutes. If you want to camp near Monument Valley then this is the only place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone and stay here again.
Excellent place to stop on the way to Monument Valley or Flagstaff. Excellent Wi-Fi. Only reason for the lower score was the sites, not as level as they could be and a little small between sites. Even with these short comings I would stay here again and would recommend to anyone.
Excellent park, excellent host. Only reason I'm not going with a 10 is the site required me to use a board under onside of the rig to get level. Even though this campground is next to I-10, you would hardly know it. Not sure why as there are no trees next to the interstate but it is elevated above the road. I had a problem with the Wi-Fi but I think it was me. The host did everything she could to get me online but all failed. I would highly recommend this campground.
Secure, clean, nice. Knowing this park is next to the interstate lets one know that it's noisy. The restrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen, Wow! The sites are gravel (needs more) and the power pole didn't have a cut-off, just the plug. This could have been very dangerous as the receptacle was way too close to the ground and a small hole which could have filled with water had it rained like forecast. The site was brand new and not as level as needed as I had to use boards on one side of my rig. The lady in charge, owner I think, was extremely helpful and very nice. I would recommend this campground and would stay again even with the interstate noise.
Only reason for not giving this park a 10 was there was no cable TV, however the antenna reception was very acceptable. This is the only negative there was with this park. Owner was very nice, just pick the site you want and even offered advice based on your rig. Yes it's close to the interstate but based on the lack of noise, you would never know it. I would stay here again, an excellent and accessible park.
While this park is a little off the beaten path and has a large "regular" population, it is very nice and we would drive the extra few miles to stay here again. It was quite with very friendly staff. Park was clean and well maintained. I would stay here again.
I would highly recommend this campground for it's cleanliness and easy access. It has excellent access to and from the Interstate. Only downsides there is no cable or parking for registration as you must go inside the motel to register. If in the area again, I will stay here.
This is the nicest east coast park we have ever stayed in. They go out of their way to make your stay great. While they are a heavy seasonal campground, they do support the short term camper. I would recommend this campground to anyone and will stay here again as I have for the past 18+ years.
I would stay here again even though it's very geared toward seasonals. The access road while narrow was well maintained. The staff was very helpful. While it isn't the best access from the Interstate it was a very nice, quite campground. If in the neighborhood, I would stay here again. Given the fact it is rather remote, cable would have been nice.
If you love camping next to a stream where you can fish and canoe, then this is campground for you. But don't plan to go if there is a heavy dew forecasted, you will be washed away. The sites were not well drained unless you like a "stream" flowing through your site. The laundry was in need of cleaning and the machines were very dirty. Had to wipe them out prior to using. There were plenty and worked well, just dirty. The staff was very nice and gave wonderful directions to the campground. The access road was a very narrow county road. I would not stay here again.
Yes, I have to agree with other reviews, the views are amazing. However, this park is set up totally for seasonals, which isn't a bad thing it just doesn't cater to the one nighter. They to have some pull through sites and while they are plenty big they are very unlevel with very pronounced depressions next to the sewer inlet. We came here mostly because of the reviews, but I won't bother about coming back. It is a little out of the way and the entrance road is rather steep. I cannot in good conscious recommend this park to other than seasonals.
We were the only camper in the park as all the seasonals had just left. To say it was quite was an understatement. The park itself was excellent the reason for the low rating was the access road. Very steep, winding road with ruts. Had I not had a large engine vehicle, I would have had a very difficult time getting up and down the access road. My site was next to a large open grassy area leading to the playground, very spacious. Only Wi-Fi access was down at the office area so none at the site. Wonderful owners and very helpful. I would stay here again.
This park is an excellent place to use as a base camp to explore the area. The sites are spacious and the Wi-Fi is excellent. When calling to make a reservation the owner gave me a site number, said he took credit cards but not over the phone. Told me to come in and setup as he would not be there and we could settle up later. What service!!! Next time I'm in the area I will stay here.
Without a doubt I would recommend this campground and would stay here again. Only reason I didn't give a 10 is because the sites aren't paved so if it rains it would be a little messy. Also, all I could find were 30amp hookups. The campground is less than 1/2 mile from the interstate, yet there was on road noise. The river is beautiful and there are plenty of sites along it. Sites are large with plenty of grass space between the pull-thru sites.
This is one of the nicest parks I've ever stayed in. The views of Devil's Tower were amazing and the staff was very helpful in every way possible. The reason for the low ranking was the price. Fifty five a night is just too expensive. If you don't mind the price, then this park is the one for you. I would stay here again, but only because of the views and convenience to Devil's Tower.
A wonderful park with amazing views. Only downside was the steepness of the park. While the sites were very adequate they were small in that you really didn't have a "front yard" because of the slop. The staff were very helpful and even gave a free ice cream as a welcome (very nice given the 101 temp). The interstate noise wasn't that bad and the train horns were very interesting, since they were at least 2 miles away. I would stay here again and would recommend it if you want to go the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
Reason for the low number is the unlevel sites, had to use a board under one side just to start leveling. It was a little tight but I had no problem with my 40 foot 5th wheel, just went slow. The Wi-Fi and staff were excellent. Given what we had and the active train track within 50 feet, I thought the price was a little high. Yes, there is a hot spring pool to use but site cost was still too high. I would still recommend the park and would stay here again.
The park was in a most beautiful location with the city bike path next to it. The staff was wonderful. The sites were small but I didn't come here to sit in my site, I came to see the National parks. The roads were dusty even though they did water some of them every night. I never could get the Wi-Fi to work and one of the washing machines was broken. To me in a private park, this is not acceptable. I would recommend this park to all and would stay here again.
An excellent park with very easy access to and from the Interstate. We are only here for the one night, but I would come back and stay here again when I pass through. Only reason I can't give a 10 is it's closeness to I-80, road noise. Sites are level and gravel, could use some more.
Very nice campground and staff with some shady and some very sunny spots. I would stay here again. Only a couple miles from I-80, so no road noise. Sites are gravel, but not that level. Interior roads also gravel, so there is dust, even going slow. Therefore, keeping it from a 10.
A wonderful park with a staff that really goes out of their way to be helpful. When we called for reservations they wanted to know our direction of travel so as to give excellent directions and how to avoid a 10 foot underpass. At check in, again gave excellent directions as to getting back to the interstate. The park is quite and shady with an excellent walking, biking, running path along the old canal system. Only problem are the unlevel sites that need more gravel. It had rained recently and was still a little muddy. There is no question that I would stay here again if given the opportunity.
Very quite, very good location with excellent shopping close by. I would stay here again. One minor potential problem, the sites weren't paved. If it had rained it would be rather messy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The excellence factor of the park was compromised by the interstate less than 200 yards away. The sites weren't paved and back to back. Had the park been full, you could shake hands with your neighbor through your windows. Yes I would stay here again as an overnighter only, it was very convenient and only about 300 or so yards from a Lake Erie park.
Excellent campground for viewing Mackinac Island and Lake Huron. Our site was one over from the water, but still an excellent view. Only minor complaints, sites not paved or very level. Ends of campers are so close I can shake hands with my neighbor through our windows. Still very quite and nice and would stay here again, as well as recommend it to all our friends.
The staff was very friendly and escorted us to our site, it is in a very lovely location in the hills of VA. We requested a water and electric pull-through. Reason for the low rating was the site; it was not level and not much wider than our camper. Extreme care had to be taken when stepping off the camper steps due to the slope of the hill; one would find themselves at the next campsite stopped only by your neighbors rig. The picnic table could not be leveled without some major work. And the extremely low water pressure. I would still recommend the campground due to its convenience to the interstate and the natural beauty of the area.
It is next to the interstate so there was a lot of road noise. But still a very good over night location given it's easy access. Severe weather was forecast and the staff had our safety in mine, by recommending that if the weather got really bad to take shelter in the bath house. The sites could use some improvement. Due to heavy rains during the night, our site was flooded causing wet feet during break down.
This is an excellent park for overnight or a long stay. The staff go out of their way to assist. Thought I had a bad cable site, they brought another cable, ran it through the window and cable was picture perfect. Because it's off season they seem to be making an effort not to jam us in, by keeping at least one empty site between campers.
