This is a nice quiet campground. The sites are on grass and are backed up to the Colorado River. Every site has water and a household 20 amp outlet for power. It was enough to power our AC and fridge. There is a dump station on the way out. The owners are nice and you can take whichever site you want. The campground is adjacent to Colorado Bend State Park (AKA Lemon's Fishing Camp) which has no hookups which is why we stayed here. The owner said the campground property is 1600 acres so the state park is not within walking distance. Fishing is popular so weekends you have a lot of visitors coming and going. You have access to at least a mile of river frontage for fishing. The office also has a small store with some food and fishing supplies. There are hot showers and the facilities are kept clean but they are older and run down. The sulfur spring is a neat feature to see and smell. I did not smell the sulfur smell in the campground area. The reason for a lower score is the 6 mile drive down a cliche gravel road. Everything will be covered in white dust when you arrive. There are a couple of steep grades but I was able to make it in a 38' fifth wheel without a problem. It's very scenic and peaceful once you get there.
We camped here for 3 nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very nice and helpful. The kids enjoyed the playground. Our site was on the water. Campground is clean and spacious. WI-FI worked great. Roads are gravel and dirt. Campground has a hiking trial. We saw a moose near the State Park as we walked down the beach which was the highlight of our trip.
We camped here in October for one weekend during their Halloween festivities. Our campsite was down in the bottom away from most everyone which gave us a more privacy. The kids enjoyed the playground. The decorations and haunted house were nice. We had a friend with us which it was their first time to go camping. I was very embarrassed every time we drove into the campground. Most all the sites had seasonals in them and they have junk everywhere. It really made the campground look trashy. Roads are gravel. Not somewhere I will stay again.
We camped here at the end of their season. There were only a few other people camping while we were here but all the other sites were filled with empty seasonal campers which was a little strange to us. It was a nice place and the owners were nice. The kids enjoyed the playground. The stream was nice to see from our site. Could be a little crowded when the campground is full of people. The sites are gravel. The bathrooms desperately need to be updated.
We stopped here at the end of their season for one night. We had a pull through with full hook-ups. The site was not level and was on dirt but it was manageable. Cable had limited channels. The campground itself I found to be real nice. It is down in a valley with a stream. If the park was full it might feel a bit cramp. The restrooms were clean. Very quiet. I minded my own business with the "no alcohol" rule. I'm sure this rule is to keep the rowdy crowds away. I would stay here again for a couple days.
I found this place to be a real nice campground. We stopped overnight on a Saturday and there was no crowd. It's part of the hotel but it is way away and is secluded. The restrooms are not the most convenient. You can swim in the hotel pool if you desire. Most of the sites are level. It was more than I expected for an overnight stop. Very clean.
This campground is a parking lot type campground. Sites are extremely close together with no privacy between sites. There are many seasonal campers here. The back-in sites are not angled so it was very difficult to back in without hitting a vehicle or another camper. Entrance is a narrow one lane road. We stayed here for an overnight stay and we will not be coming back.
We stayed here for an overnight stay. It was great for a stopover and very near the highway. Not a place a I would want to camp for an extended time due to the highway noise. Staff was friendly. Sites are large and close to each other. I would stay here again.
This campground is great and we will be back! Very quiet, lots of shade, views of the lake, and very clean sites. The restrooms were clean and the campground is well maintained. The sites are spaced apart so you are not on top of each other. Staff is friendly. The dumpsite has a rather sharp turn but we made it with no problem. The drain is on the correct side of the camper unlike what another poster mentioned.
