Good park with wide, all grass sites. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The whole place is immaculate. The only downside is the views aren't as great as they could be. We would definitely stay here again.
This is your basic campground. We were looking for a place to stay coming from Tok--the construction and road were terrible. There is nothing in Destruction Bay [pop 40] so bring all your own stuff. The owner is gregarious and has a good draft beer on sale. People seemed to gather on the deck in the evening. Good wifi and delicious well water. No full service, but there is a dump station. They don't mind if you wash the road grime off your vehicle either. We would stay here again.
This is as close to perfect as you can find -- huge sites, lots of grass, trees between most of the sites, a half acre pet area, fast wifi and great owners. No mountains in the background, but, hey, this is Minnesota.
Large sites, lots of grass, electric and water. We stayed on a Saturday night and there were 4 other campers. The sign says there is electric only, but there is water and a dump. Perfect as far as I'm concerned.
This is your basic campground with electric hookups, wide sites, lots of grass. Take the 8th st exit and go through town, past the city park, and pass under the railroad tracks--on the right. We stayed here because Williston, with the oil boom, was packed. It's great for what it is.
A great campground in the absolute middle of Valdez. No need to even use your vehicle. The sites are a bit close, but this is Alaska. The front desk is friendly and helpful. The WiFi is excellent and the laundry immaculate. A downside is that there is nowhere to walk the dog except a narrow strip of grass along a sidewalk. Other than that, a great place. We would definitely stay again. The Fat Mermaid around the corner has 13 draft beers.
What a great park. The sites are large (especially by AK standards) and most are separated by trees for lots of privacy. The restaurant was making caribou chili and it was very good. Everybody gathered for the pancake toss and live music in the evening and it was good fun. The wifi is quite good. It's a few miles from town on the Tok cutoff. We camped with w&e only. We would definitely stay here again.
This was a great park that was recommended by another traveler. Surrounded by mountains and streams, it was very picturesque. A large tent with a fire that burns every night. People gather for happy hour and you get to know your neighbors. The owner was very helpful and joined the guests around the fire. We would have stayed longer but we had reservations on the ferry to Valdez. I give it a 9 only because our WiFi didn't work--otherwise, it's a 10. Didn't use the restrooms and showers.
